Could the Phoenix Suns trade Kevin Durant to the Toronto Raptors?

the clock is ticking on a Kevin Durant trade uh you heard the cut we played it earlier you probably heard it on Burns and Gambo’s show yesterday too where he said he believes KD will be traded uh by next week then you have uh Shams earlier today saying he thinks that uh yeah next week or maybe even sooner honestly um and then Shams also threw out a couple teams Wolves so I’m going to play that yeah there there’s not going to be a Giannis Kevin Durant intermingling trade going on you said a week i think it could be even sooner than that i think I think I think there’s some motivation with some teams potentially even sooner than seven days you know maybe in the next few days we could get some Kevin Durant trade action u there is some serious traction on conversations on trade scenarios with the Suns uh they’ve had about 6 to8 teams reach out there’s been interest there’s been some offers there’s been been some negotiations but really in the last 24- 48 hours I’m told the focus of the Suns conversation has been on a few of the teams and and here they are houston the Houston Rockets the Miami Heat and the Minnesota Timberwolves i’m told those are the three teams right now where a lot of the focus for Durant lies there it is right there is it a surprise that there are multiple teams that there are a lot of teams that are actually interested in Kevin Durant no no it isn’t it’s it’s interesting how he said it though um it kind of leaves it open to interpretation of if those three teams are the ones pushing the hardest for KD or if those are the three teams the Suns are the most interested in making a deal with you know what I mean like he said the focus there he did he didn’t say these three teams are just they they won’t stop calling the Suns yeah um the only reason I say that is because Houston has been so vocal about how they don’t need to improve their team basically is essentially what they said i mean they So are you reading into what he said are you reading into it Luke um I I just I’m kind of reading into it that maybe those are the teams that are in the mix that the Suns would most like to make a deal with which makes sense that Houston would be on that list yeah I’ve always believed that there’s got to be other teams that are out there looking at Kevin Durant there’s got to be other teams that are out there you’re talking about KD i understand um he’s 37 he’s 37 years old i get that um at the same time you’re talking about a guy that has lost nothing he hasn’t when the Suns acquired him do you think he’s lost anything since No now now here’s the thing that was two and a half years ago yeah i mean is the next two and a half years you can’t bank on it true you can’t um I don’t know it’s It There are certain players though that are a little different right i mean LeBron we would all agree is is a little bit different i’m not saying KD is LeBron those two are different from each other but I don’t know like if if you’re asking me if I think Kevin Durant’s still going to be a 25 plus point per game player in two and a half years yeah I do i believe that i don’t think he’ll be as good of a player all around as he as he was in his prime but if he’s still playing in the NBA in whatever you want to say 20 28 is he averaging 25 points a game i think he is yeah can you imagine Can you imagine to be that talented to be that good because I agree with you i do i I agree with you yet at the same time you’re just not going to get what the Suns gave up for him no you’re just not going to get that again but you should be able to get a lot because of his age i believe you should be able to get a lot more than some of these trade offers potential trade offers that we’ve we’re seeing floated out here in some of these stories i think you should be able there’s a there’s a huge gap between getting back what you gave up for him two years ago right and taking the 14th pick and Devin Vel from the Spurs and I like Velc as a player he’s But that’s that’s the name and and people are like I could talk myself into that deon or Deon devin or Devin 82 times next year uh here this is uh Kevin Oconor from the KOC show earlier this week talking about one of the wild card teams you were implying maybe there’s some wild card teams cuz Shams had those three teams and then yeah I mean we’ve certainly we’ve heard the Knicks and the Spurs those seem to be the big five well how about this team i did a little digging today like who are these sleeper teams who are these under the radar teams for Kevin Durant and the one team that keeps coming up that has likely already made an offer the Toronto Raptors it does seem like the Raptors have already made a pursuit of Kevin Durant kd does not want to go there they are not on his list but you know like they have a a ton of salaries that they could put together they have RJ Barrett they have Emanuel Quickley they got so many different configurations that you could put together one of them would be Quickly and Purle that’s a very clean salary match for Kevin Durant if you add on two first to that those Raptors first could be pretty valuable because they’re no guarantee to be anything special that might be a more desperate move if they were to go get Kevin Durant at his age what would you say about that move well that might be what Charles Barkley was talking about earlier this week where he said you don’t have to take Kevin Durant’s uh you know wishes into into consideration um and that’s a that’s a fine line to walk right i mean I hear what you’re saying why trade him to a team that’s only going to keep him that he’s only signed for a year because they they’re not going to be able to offer as much but what if one of them is offering more you know then then you don’t have to i I just wonder why somebody would offer more when they didn’t have the guarantee of signing him to an extension kevin Durant i mean that’s why because it’s Kevin Durant toronto did this with Kawawaii you know whatever what was that eight years ago and and they didn’t keep him but they did win a championship kawawaii was also like 27 or 28 when they signed him also is is Emanuel Quickley and Yakob Hurdle like a great return for the Suns that sounds awful to me yeah I don’t love the return no no offense to those guys but why would a team do it toronto has done it before and it worked with a champion i’m just thinking about the logic of it all i am i’m sorry i I don’t I don’t buy into the whole idea that you know what you can go out and get we’re going to get KD for for a half a year or we’re going to go out there and we’re going to get KD for one year and then we’re going to let him walk i just don’t think you’re going to give up a lot you’re going to give up stuff that other teams would give up when they know they’ve signed him to a two-year extension it doesn’t make sense it doesn’t unless logically it makes no sense to do that to me unless these teams like Houston and San There is no guarantee you’re going to win just because you got Kevin Durant all right but if Houston and San Antonio are offering trash and Toronto’s offering more than trash I mean again I’ll go back to the the Spurs trade we saw out there the other day the 14th pick and Devin Vel if Toronto is offering you two high first round picks and a couple players that I agree Rick are not amazing but a couple RJ Barrett was the other player they mentioned and he’s been good he’s just kind of one of these guys that’s like plateaued at like 18 that’s still a better offer than the San Antonio one because you’re talking about two first round picks that could be number three right that’s a better deal yeah but but right now these these are reported offers that we’re talking about i’m talking about logically when you look at this right now i don’t know how accurate these offers are and the names are we have no idea about this stuff you know to me I’m talking about the logic of it all if you’re if if you’re going to give up real value to get Kevin Durant man I I think you’re going to know that you can sign him to an extension that that that’s the reason why you’re willing to give up real value for Kevin Durant how about this uh this is from the same show this is Dan Titus who is on with uh with KOC this was his response to Toronto specifically they have the assets to go get KD i just feel like KD would have to have done the the Sun super dirty for him to be shipped out to Toronto like I feel like that’s probably like one of the last places he’d want to be um and I don’t know KD but I’m just assuming from all the things that I’ve read about other players and their their disdain for wanting to play in Toronto like I don’t think that’s the place he wants to be but they got salaries and they have viable veterans that they could send back in the trade so if Toronto wants to listen to it I think they should absolutely entertain it i’m a thousand% with you Wolf it makes no sense why let’s just use Toronto would would offer more than Houston it it makes zero sense right but if the Suns are in a rush to get this done and for some reason they do feel like they’re in a rush to get this done and Toronto is offering more than Houston then you got a real interesting conversation you got to have you know what kind of love the fact that the Suns this is what I believe i I believe the Suns have leaked the information that they are in a rush to get this done to get these offers moving to get these offers come you better come with it you better bring it i I think who knows Brian Gregory maybe this is you saying “Yeah let’s go ahead and leak this that you know we want to get this done and over with right now we’re in a rush to get it done we’re ready to pull the trigger.” as a matter of fact so if you’re listening out there you better bring it bring us with your best offer or this thing is going to be over and you’re going to be sitting there thinking we were going to negotiate and we didn’t you get my point yeah you want to if you want to be if if the Spurs and you want to play around with these like small offers or we’ll just trade him well maybe this is he’ll be traded before you wake up and realize we were serious maybe this is the organization maybe this is Brian Gregory h there’s so much unknown right now cuz we don’t know much about the Sun’s GM wouldn’t that be interesting thanks for watching Wolf and Luke tap to see more and click the button in the middle to subscribe to Arizona Sports

  1. Kevin Duran's trade value is minimal because of his age, his injury history, his salary and the fact that doesn't make his teammates better. He's washed.

  2. KDs return will be in between what heat got for Butler and what Portland got for Dame.Butler trade: Wiggins, Kyle Anderson, GSW first this yearDame trade: Jrue, Ayton, Camara 3 1sts @ other team fans
