WILL LOSING BROBERG AND HOLLOWAY COST THE EDMONTON OILERS 2 STANLEY CUPS? #hockey #nhl #freeagency
august 13th is a date that’s probably not even a blip on most NHL fans radar but now for most Edmonton Oiler fans it may be a date that lives on in infamy so today we’re asking the big question has the Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway signings cost the Edmonton Oilers two Stanley Cups hey everybody welcome in to Clearing the Benches your one-stop shop for hockey content if you go ahead and hit your subscribe button right now you’ll be sure to be in on all of our future videos well when you look back a couple of summers ago you know it was pretty shocking news i know all the Oiler fans were up in arms about it and in my opinion I thought recently hired Stan Bowman should have matched those two contracts especially when you looked at what they had on the roster then and especially what you’re playing in the NHL final now so when we look at Philip Broberg uh St louis signed him to a 2-year offer sheet $4.5 million per year plays D63 210 he had 29 points in 68 games this year but he was a plus 16 he had two points in just seven playoff games this year but also was a plus in the playoffs when I look at what the Edmonton Oilers are rolling out there on the back end right now he is a much better option than Troy Stcher or Kulak and now as it’s even turning out Matias Ekholm and if you look at it Ekholm makes $6 million per year and that would have pretty much covered uh the money that you would have had to spend if you kept Broberg and Holloway when we look at Dylan Holloway the Blues signed him two years $2.2 $2 million a year he plays center the Oilers drafted him 14th overall just four years earlier this past season he had 63 points in 77 games looking at what the Oilers are putting out there right now in the final he’s a much better option than Kappain or even Aander Kane uh Adam Henrik for sure so when I look at this and you see how close the Oilers were last year and this year and it was just really little things that cost him the cup last year and it looks like they’re going to be this close if they don’t win the cup again this year um I got to ask the question if these two guys when Bowman let them walk out the door if that didn’t just cost the Oilers two cups um we’re going to have to see how it plays out you know the Oilers have a chance they They’re in a you know big hole they got to win the next two games or else they’re going to lose their second consecutive cup and when I look back at something like this this should be something that you know the higherups in Edmund take a really big look at Stan Bowman and wonder you know should this guy really be driving the ship at this point so once again when you’re watching these NHL finals you got to ask yourself the question how much would Broberg and Holloway have helped the Edmonton Oilers
August 13, 2024 may not be a blip on most NHL fans radar, but it may become a day that lives on in infamy for many Edmonton Oilers fans as that is the day that the St. Louis Blues tendered offer sheets to Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway. Edmonton Oilers recently hired general manager Stan Bowman declined to match the offers and let both players move on to play for the St. Louis Blues.. today we are asking the question if not re-signing Broberg and Holloway has cost the Edmonton Oilers to Stanley cups.. #hockey #freeagency #edmontonoilers #stlouis #blues #defence #wing #podcast #trending #crypto #arena #ice #draft #bowman #mcdavid #draisaitl #broberg #holloway #offer #sheet #bowman #draft #national #league #gm #generalmanager #decline #playoffs #skate #shoot #pass #goals #goat #tnt #gretzky #missouri
