bro I seen you hit 23 reps on bench now you got to run me through like what like are you a big bench guy cuz I I bench I like bench too but yeah no I seen I hit 20 at the comment that was hard to do like for me 20 was like damn but 23 How much do you weigh uh I weigh 195 right that’s nuts like were you practicing were you like repping it all before i mean I’m always been like a big like weight room guy like actually you was talking about earlier how your background with the weight room and stuff but um it’s just always something that I get it’s like joyful for me like I’m in the weight room i’m trying to be competitive with other guys pushing other guys but it’s something that I always like I knew I get a lot of reps um but I didn’t know like 23 i was my goal was like 25 um the receiver record was like 27 but um no didn’t get too much sleep the night the night before after the comma i’m sure you you knew exactly how that felt but [Music] what’s up guys this is St brown Brothers back State got drafted with his teammate to the Texans which sounds like a dream come true which is probably super lit um but thank you for being on the show man i appreciate it yeah thank you guys for having man um just talk about that right away what’s it like being on a squad with your with your teammate that you went to college with going to the same NFL team nah it it it’s cool for sure just obviously we played uh two years together at Iowa State he transferred in from EKU built a quick bond together but to be able to know you going to a team be able to grow with somebody in the NFL and kind of experience those things I think it’s super cool for sure that’s what’s up yeah how was the draft process and everything it was good obviously the stress to it the nerves all that stuff got to put in a lot of work so there’s not many breaks um but it it’s something that every kid dreams of going through and to be able to have that opportunity and get those experience is a blessing for sure any um any weird draft questions that you were asked like something like that [ __ ] just weird like nah nah really it was a lot of vanilla questions for me cuz I ain’t have too many like no issues off the field no question marks which is a good thing um probably the the question that kind of threw me off the most is like what do you dislike most about football right and so that make me think you hate losing that’s I said I said injuries injuries and that’s that’s a real thing though that is like a such a dicky question it is it is what do you dislike about football i was trying to see if I’m looking to get something out of trying to trying to get something out of you do you wear shorts everywhere do you like to wear shorts uh I see big leg sleeve no I don’t usually like I mean it’s actually chilly in here you wear shorts everywhere no I’m from the Midwest so it gets chilly and I went to Iowa State so it’s cold up there so you know Alan Lazard at all or No no I that’s my guy he goes back to um Iowa State every once in a while not as much recently he got his contract you know no but that’s that’s that’s my guy he’s cool for sure david McGomery went to Iowa State too yeah he did do I love Demo bro he’s hilarious yeah so you’re from Kansas City right yeah you grew up a Chiefs fan yeah I did yeah yeah damn so like did you want to go to the Chiefs nah I was going anywhere going to the Chiefs would have been lit right no it would have been cool for sure it would have been cool for sure chiefs fan so like you actually cheering that’s crazy like you wanted the Chiefs to win the Super Bowls like Yeah yeah and then now I’m like Texan so now it’s like right it’s different now like before you probably living as a great fan though what’d you get three four Super You seen four Super Bowl wins three Super Bowls no three Super Bowl wins because everybody thinks they didn’t used to be that it was like two and 14 and then but it was really turn around when Andy Reid got there he he kind of turned around and obviously Pat Mahomes right but yeah no it was actually they Chiefs spoil Chiefs fans are spoiled now so who’s the last game receivers like Chiefs draft i was about to say bro you remind me of Sky Moore yeah Sky Moore bro sky Moore people say that yeah they say I look like him um some people try to say I play like him a little bit but I mean he look like him too bro when he said like yeah when I’m thinking Chiefs I’m thinking like I’m talking to Scott Mor on I was thinking the same thing i was like what the [ __ ] that [ __ ] crazy bro i seen you hit prior to the combine uh 23 23 was my best and so I feel like usually you get a little a few more reps what was your best for uh my shoulder was hurt when I was coming out so I couldn’t really bench how I wanted to feel like if it wasn’t hurt I probably could have done like 22 23 but I did 20 at the pro day but I think I did like 19 20 bro that’s crazy i did 15 max i get there I never forget calvin Ridley’s for me he had 13 i’m looking at him like “No way i’m only shooting in front of him.” Then I had 20 no it’s a lot that goes into it they be having them fresh weights the bench is weird so heavy a little heavier yeah no it’s a little heavier you go in my adrenaline was pumping dude ain’t nothing shaved off the weights but yeah no it was cool so coming from Kansas City going to the You’re from the Midwest going to the South is it different for you culture shock cuz you went to I mean you’re in Iowa State too so it’s like cold to just straight south heat like Yeah like I mean city-wise it’s a lot faster right um Ky I call it like a medium city like it’s you have slow parts faster parts but Houston a lot faster and then I mean the humidity it’s all the time in Houston kansas City get people might not know but Midwest in the summer got like a month and a half period it’ll get it’ll get hot but um nah it it’s definitely adjustment period in terms of how fast the city is and the weather but I like it so far yeah i mean you got you got CJ Strad what was that like like seeing him for the first time knowing you got a quarterback that’s going to be there for years to come who’s cold yeah like you probably felt good right oh yeah no that’s a blessing for sure as a receiver like you only control so much so you got to have somebody that can get you the ball and um he he’s that guy for sure so it’s it’s dope to be able to play with him have you thrown with him yet or caught for him no not yet not yet um just going through these many like got routes on air periods and stuff but yeah not yet okay okay uh I see you like to fish in the Midwest you’ve already thought about fishing in I don’t even do they even have fishing in Houston they got they got ponds everywhere i mean really Galveston if you want saltwater fishing is like an hour away they got spots everywhere i’m not a big fish guy so Yeah yeah no no for sure no just fresh water bass fishing stuff like that something I like to do get away from football um but no I I like it me and my guy Jaden uh we both fish we actually have like a Oh you got like a little TikTok or something yeah like J&J fishing yeah we haven’t posted on it in a minute but we going to try to get back to it once we get settled in and stuff but yeah fishing some What else you guys do in the Midwest for fun like I’m just wondering i mean golf i like to golf but every I feel like everybody golf everywhere especially in the warmer states like I mean you guys are from Cali right california yeah so is it good golfing yeah it is good which is good golf yeah yeah yeah so solid um no I like to golf other than that I’m engaged my fiance so appreciate that so um chill with her um watch shows cook like to cook yeah all across and just going it you meet not meet but see a whole bunch of different people it’s a whole bunch like you’re in downtown LA or you see some weird crazy [ __ ] huh yeah no it’s crazy like bro to eat steak steak oh hold on let’s get into this you like steak how do you eat your steak uh medium so I cook it so medium yeah cast iron okay get a good sear on it 2 minutes seside usually yep um get it to about an internal like 134 136 let it rest for about 10 minutes you got you got a good steak not medium rare uh it just depends it depends like if I’m at some place like Yeah like if you go to a restaurant you’re like you order steak what are you getting yeah i got to be Sometimes I get medium rare most of the time I’m not going to lie I get medium okay but yeah that’s not as bad some people say well done it’s like I mean I could look at them and guess it wasn’t be crazy like you know i mean he’s from Kansas City they barbecue that state of like barbecue’s big right so he knows about food and like meat Paul so he knows like something about some food but what do you like to eat like steak steak what about like seafood you like seafood seafood i got to be in the mood for it i like shrimp shrimp is cool my fiance is allergic to shrimp so I’ve been away from it a little bit so um nah I eat that every once in a while i got to be in the mood for like crab legs right lobster you think it’s like different than crab and lobster tastes different yeah yeah you think like lobster is a little bit sweeter um trying to think i like crab more i don’t know yeah for sure i don’t think lobster is sweeter is that you think it is that’s what I think that’s what I get from it i don’t know but I’m in the Midwest so I don’t We don’t have good seafood you know y’all got good seafood so y’all probably more well versed in it so you got no beaches nothing just barbecue corn maybe go Santa Mon don’t get in the water people say cornfield when they say that’s say Midwest what Kansas City is like you going to see a field like cornfield but it’s a city though you got suburbs all that stuff I’ve been to Kansas City I was there for the draft I was like yeah yeah bro I’m sorry like I don’t know how you if you have money like I’m not living here after I get some money like I mean you just got to know the right places to go oh you plan on going back like living there for the rest of your life no I’m probably get a place uh in like Dallas or something my my fiance from Dallas that’s better something like that it’s definitely Yeah i would say it’s more to do and like you right i mean there’s only so much to do it’s good for capped out yeah yeah yeah yeah but nah Casey it’s good vibes there i’m sure your family’s there like you’re from there it’s hometown so it’s like just get out a little biased i’m a little biased so with this signing bonus that you’re getting what do you what’s your first purchase like what’s your first big purchase oh man if I don’t get like a furniture deal or something I’m going to get some nice furniture okay furnish the crib so you’re getting a crib though that would be you’re buying a crib uh renting renting i won’t buy until second contract um but yeah I guess crib go into it some furniture i’m going to keep my little Toyota Camry for a little you got a Toyota Camry yeah 2021 red interior so I mean it’s good enough that be tough like Camry
