Sens Today: Off to Toronto for Game 5
a day back on the ice before heading down to to0 the sends practicing at CTC on Monday gearing up for game five tomorrow night we can’t win the series tomorrow i think our main focus is obviously just going to go there and win one game i think um you know they have they’re going to have their crowd behind them and they’re going to have lots of energy and being at home and and I think you know if we can you know win one game um you know take it per period by period um not try and get too far ahead of ourselves and win one game make them come back to Ottawa and use our crowd to to our advantage for game six and and then uh get another one there and then um you know anything can happen in game seven yeah let’s take it one day at a time like uh you know you can’t win three games uh without winning the first one so um you know I think that we just go out there and um you know play our style and I think that we’re you know playing very good five on five against them and you know we just got to maybe put a couple more away on on power play and just keep doing our structure on penalty kill and um yeah I you know I think that um you know we’ve been playing well against them and we just got to keep going guys are pretty smart they know that um it’s a tough task but at the end of the day we just got to worry about game five right now it was also a full practice for the sends on Monday and as for the line combos from today’s practice the same top unit out there in Kachchuck with Stuts Land Jaru davidid Peron jumping up from the fourth line alongside Dylan Cousins and Drake Bathson today at practice matthew Heimmore filling in on the third line alongside Michael Amadio and Shane Pinto with Ridley Greg not on the ice today nick Cousins with Adam Gddet and Fabian Zetlin on the fourth line and Zack Mchuan serving as an extra amongst the forward groups the same D pairings out there with Sanderson Zub Shabbat Jensen back on the ice today at practice and Cleven and Matt and Paulo rounding out the defensive units gilbert and Hamik serving as the extras travis Green also spoke today about the importance of having a full practice while in the heat of a playoff series it doesn’t happen very often uh I think the day you know day extra day off helps uh it’s helped our group i’m sure you know they’ll say the same thing it’s helped them uh you know when you play four games in seven days there you know not only physically but emotionally as well also a conversation today on the third defensive pair with Tyler Cleven and Nicholas Matten Paulo playing some good hockey as of late and Travis Green highlighted what he’s like from the third pair clev is I don’t want to call him sneaky physical because he’s just now becoming physical and comfortable in his own you know comfortable playing that way um and he hits hard so you know big defenseman that can skate and hit hard are hard to find uh Manty’s similar uh and when you have two guys that are long and can skate and can be physical um you know that’s a making of a good pair i think I’ve had the same mentality all year just just go out there and play my game and um you know I I play a certain style that you know maybe in playoffs I I can be more physical and um that’s just my style of play just simple hard fast just that’s just how I like to play and um I mean I guess that’s more of a playoff style but I wouldn’t say like anything like that so Lmer’s worked with me so much just uh you know letting me play my game on the ice and um give me a little bit of a leash at times and um you know we work at we work together every day after practice and just work on little details and I think uh you know over over the course of 82 games uh you know you get better in some areas and um yeah I mean I think that you know him helping me out has uh been beneficial special teams also came through in a big way in game four with the power play goal in the first period the short-handed goal in the first as well and of course the big four-minute penalty kill in overtime to help facilitate the 4-3 win another key going into game five tomorrow night i mean anytime against their power play uh you know you know you have to be at the top of your uh your game to uh to to help Ollie and I think uh we did a good job of killing that you know that happen it happens in games like guys get a high stick here and there and um you know four minutes goes up on the clock and um you know you’re just trying to you know help the boys out stay calm on the bench and um yeah I mean we just um you know stuck to our our structure that we we like to play and um yeah shut them down for that four minutes and it gave us a little bit of confidence and um yeah we went out there and finished the game off after that the Suns will now head down to Toronto to face off against the Leafs a pivotal game five coming up tomorrow night for Sense 360 i’m Jackson Star
