we are witnessing one of the most unexpected playoff runs in sports in August the Detroit Tigers had a 2% chance of making the playoffs and were 11 games behind for a spot in postseason but they went on a historic run winning 31 of their last 42 regular season games and now have swept the Astros in the Wild Card round giving them their first trip to the playoffs since 2014 which is especially insane when you consider the facts the Tigers have the youngest roster in the MLB they also have the fifth lowest payroll in the league and not to mention they traded veteran starting pitcher Jack flarity to the Dodgers at the trade deadline earlier this season I mean truly no one could have predicted this for the Tigers how can you not be romantic about baseball
