The Bills Would Be CRAZY Not to Re-Sign Chase Claypool | Don Mafia Report Clip

And what about a reunion with soandso? What about a reunion with this player? Could should we invite him back? And it just so happens to be our good friend Chase Clayool. Now, in case any of you are unfamiliar, Chase Clayool took to Instagram for the first time in over a year. If we remember in the 2024 mandatory mini camp era and the 2024 training camp in general, Chase Clayool was playing very well. He was playing very well and according to very some early reports, it sounded like Chase Clayool was well on a trajectory for making this team and then unfortunately he ended up suffering a toe injury. It was very quiet and ultimately the Buffalo Bills ended up finding an injury settlement with the player and he sat out the entirety of the 2024 NFL season. Now what makes it interesting is that he took to Instagram as mentioned previously and he put out a statement where he was thanking the Buffalo Bills for the opportunity. uh uh he was in a low place when he was in training camp, when he was in mini camp, he felt the strongest and the healthiest that he had ever been. And then that toe injury ended up sidelining him and to and today he still believes that he could be a main contributor to an NFL organization. Now, some of you may ask me, right, Dan, what do you think about this? Should the Buffalo Bills bring in Chase Clayool, resign him and kick the tires on a potential reunion and give him another opportunity to make this roster? And I got to tell you what, Bills Mafia, yes, some of you may come in and say, “No, he’s not proven. And this wide receiver room is already way too crowded. There is not a spot for him on this team.” And I would respond with this. I feel like a lot of the wide receivers on this team are in the exact same position as cha as Chase Clayool. Specifically, we have Joshua Palmer and we have Elijah Moore. Like it or not, it’s okay to be excited about Josh Palmer. It is okay to be excited about Elijah Moore, but both of the things that attach to their names is the same thing that is attached to Chase Clayool. Unproven. As much as I love Elijah Moore, right, like like, yeah, great. He’s super fast. He could be on the outside and he’s only ever had terrible quarterback. So, there’s a lot of upside with this wide receiver. Same thing with Joshua Palmer. Oh my god, he has a great route running. He is absolutely dominating when it comes into advanced metrics, but at the end of the day, it doesn’t translate out into the stat sheet. Both of these wide receivers in Josh Palmer and Elijah Moore are nothing but upside folks. They have not proven that they could be crazy crazy crazy contributors to an NFL organization. So when I look at the possibility of bringing in Chase Clayool, who again is unproven, right? Like yes, he did have a quality season years back uh when he was with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He struggled over in Chicago. He looked good in mini camp for the Buffalo Bills last year. Him and Josh Palmer and Elijah Moore are on the exact same page. Upside. So my thing is what would it hurt folks? What would it hurt? We are entitled to 90 players showing up to training camp each and every single season. 90. 90. What would it hurt to give Chase Clayool an opportunity to go out there and potentially win a roster spot? I really don’t see the harm in it. I really don’t. Yes, I think we can all agree that Shaquir and Keon Coleman, Josh Palmer, Elijah Moore, Curtis Samuel, and Liscus Chenalt likely going to make this team, but why wouldn’t we want to kick the tires on somebody that is saying that, “Hey, look, I’m still 26 years old. I still run a 4240. Yes, I’m going to show you that it was only because I ended up getting injured is the reason why I didn’t make this Buffalo Bills team last year. So, yeah, take him in. Take him in. Let him compete with these guys. I want to make sure that this Buffalo Bills team is the best possible team that we see in 2025 because I’m sorry, but I’m getting impatient. I’m getting impatient. I got I got to see this team make the Super Bowl. No questions asked here. I have to. So, my vote is absolutely if we genuinely want to make sure end up turning over every single tire. We turn over all question marks. You’re damn right. I’m completely fine with sending over an invite to Chase Clayool. Worst case scenario, he doesn’t make the team and Josh Palmer and Elijah Moore lock in those spots, which I am still predicting that they will, but damn. Absolutely. What’s it going to hurt? Anybody that says otherwise, I’m kind of like like what’s it going to hurt, dude? Like, we have 90 players we’re allowed to bring to training camp. Bring this guy in. See if he can actually back up exactly what he is

I made a bold call on today’s episode of The Don Mafia Report β€” the Buffalo Bills should seriously consider bringing back Chase Claypool for training camp.
