Calijah Kancey Will EXCEED EXPECTATIONS This Year
Speaking of injuries, if this guy can stay healthy for 17 games, look out. Kaji Cany, he thinks he thinks he can lead the league in sacks. And Todd BS wasn’t necessarily buying that, but he wasn’t really dismissing it either. He said he could get close. That’s right. If Kalasha Cany can skip the whole calf injury thing at the beginning of camp and the preseason like he’s had the last two years, his first two years in Tampa Bay and just be healthy and play all 17 games, I think he’s a double digit sacker. I think Josh Capo is wrong. He’s got Kanye down for nine sacks. And again, this might be figured into injury, right? You look at this at the pass rush snaps and all that. Um, but you know what I he’s he’s a baller, man. This guy is a player. He’s only gonna get better. And and you know, Matt, when you have and let’s be real, the front four of Joe Trron, Shuinka, Yaya, Vto, and Kaja Cany is not nearly as dangerous as the front four of Hassan Reic, Yaya, Diyabi, Vea, and Kalaja Cany. that one upgrade. Yeah. Out of the out of your front four is a huge one to get a proven pass rusher against a guy who was uh always a step away in terms of getting to the quarterback and Joe Try and Shawinka. So, um who you going to double, right? right? Who’s who’s going to get, you know, the extra attention if this team can get better on the back end in terms of locking down receivers, not giving up as much cushion, forcing quarterbacks to hang on to the ball an extra half second or an extra second. This guy is the closest guy to the quarterback. He has the shortest path to get there and he’s he’s faster than Bae. So, this guy, Kaja Ky, should be getting double digit sacks. He he has that that capability. And you know, I know he’s really dangerous, but if I’m the quarterback or if I’m the center, I’m rolling my double team towards VA every time just because VA is a monster. He’s he’s the guy that you have to double team because of his size and strength and power. Kaja Cany is the guy you roll the dice on with one-on-one. If you try to double team him, you know, and and you leave VA one-on-one, he’s going to collapse the pocket and is not going to be good for the quarterback. So, I I see Kasha Cany knocking. I mean, he’s got him knocking on the door with nine. I think he kicks the door down and gets double digits this year. I think it’s at least 10. I’m in full agreement. This is the one I saw, and of course, love Josh Kone. He’s so important to what we do, but this is the one I was like, “Wow, not double digits for Collia Cany, even though he, you know, dominates when he’s out there.” Kalisha Ky kind of defies logic because we as you just mentioned like we we all know what makes VA great. It’s his size, his strength, the speed and everything like that. Klay does not look like a defensive he’s not a menacing looking defensive lineman, defensive tackle. Um, but he’s got the speed to absolutely, when I say blitz, I don’t mean he’s blitzing from the linebacker position, but just blitz through, you know, the offensive line in two and a half seconds, sometimes even quicker than Vea. I don’t want to see Kaja Cany at all during training camp. I know he has to practice and things like that, but I don’t want to see him at all because the only thing that’s stopping him from being an absolute menace and someone that can terrorize the entire league is being healthy at the beginning of the season and really getting it going. I do believe it’s going to be a trickle down effect across the board for the Bucks defense. Whether it’s Assan Reic getting a little more uh attention, whether it’s the linebackers doing a better job in coverage, the revamping of the secondary, which we’ll talk about um in a little in a little bit, it really impacts everybody. The only chance teams have with the front four of the Bucks because they do have to double team VA. The only thing they have really is that if you have a guard that is quick enough to stay with Kalasha Cany but has the size, well then the advantage goes to the guy with the size. But not too many teams have that and he can go against bigger guys too and still get the job done. I’m not going to say Kalasha Cany is like the next Warren Sap or anything like that, but I think he could be the next defensive tackle that could Yeah, I mean, he led the team in sacks, but you know, make double digit after double digit after double digit and, you know, being the running for a sack leader, which obviously Kasha Cany believes in. I think the sky’s is the limit for this guy. Like we talked about Yaya kind of having to prove that he could be the guy in year three. Kaja Ky’s already proven it in his short career. He’s got to prove that he could just stay healthy cuz at times he looks unstoppable. We have a $1.99 super chat from UJO. Thank you for the super chat. Says, “Can Kijijah surpass Vita Vea this year?” Well, he surpassed him in in sack numbers. Yeah, this year. Um, I think he certainly like production-wise can surpass Vava. My question though really would be, can Kalisha Cany get it done without the help of Va getting all that attention? Because we know Vivea can get it done regardless of who’s lining up next to him. But I think a lot of people benefit way more from having Vivea in there than I think people realize. Like Viva’s importance is just as much not on the stat sheet as it is with his numbers. So that would be my big question for Kala Cany. I think you nailed it, Matt. I I agree with you. I think that’s that’s spot on. And I think in terms of like maybe if you’re talking about like league recognition like Pro Bowl and all that, I think the key for him is double digit sacks. It’s just he collage has got to get to the double digits to really elevate his profile. The other thing too is what we’ve said about Baker Mayfield um helping his campaign for NFL MVP. Same thing for anybody want to go to the Pro Bowl. Show up in week two, dominate the Houston Texans in prime time, start the momentum meter early in the season, right? And then every time you’re in prime time, come through against the Lions, against the Rams, against the Falcons. Show up in those big prime time games when everyone’s watching. That’s going to help your cost.
The biggest hurdle that #Bucs defensive tackle Calijah Kancey has going into this season is if he can be healthy for the beginning of the year. Kancey has been a dominant force along the defensive line racking up sacks when available.
To put him at a superstar status, he’ll next have to reach double digit sacks and have big games when the Bucs are in primetime. The projections for Kancey are that he will record nine sacks this season, but Pewter Report’s Matt Matera and Scott Reynolds highly believe he demolish that number if he can play a majority of the season for Tampa Bay along the defensive line. Kancey has a chance to lead the league in sacks.

Go Bucs
I’d be shocked if Kancey doesn’t at least get 10 sacks this season
Crank it up to 11 sacks.
If we get the sacks we need with just the front four rushing this defense suddenly gets much much better and the TOs we want will follow.
Kancey reminds me of another DT who was injured his first 2 years and people wondered if he was going to be worth anything: Gerald McCoy. Remember him? Of course we do. This will be Kancey's breakout year, I feel it. Go Bucs!
nothing new here this is a rerun
I totally agree, been saying it to my friends this whole off-season…BeastMode!
Hope this kid becomes a dominant DT
I enjoy your reports and look forward to them. I have an issue that I would like to see addressed. The chant in stadium during the game, "Tampa —– Bay" is pathetic. It actually weakens the power of the home team environment. It splits the crowd in half as it alternates, and is an energy sucker. We need something unified and entire stadiuim loud! Maybe something that shows we are pirates/buccaneers! Looking forward to suggestions.
GO BUCS
I thought Defense was our big problem this year, but with the choice of Egbuka with the #1 pick and the news that Wirfs might be out for multiple games, I am worried about how Baker will function. He loves to play like a Linebacker. Can he still do that if the left side is not nailed down with a future hall of famer? Forget about him knocking over LBers and Safeties as he runs for 1st downs, worry about him being clobbered from his blind side.
Bucs team doctor: Dr Nick Riviera is giving Kancey calf implants to fix his calf problems 👍
Calijah just turned 24 a couple months ago! I’m stoked about his potential
I predict he misses first three games.
