Dodgers postgame: Freddie Freeman praises Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Mookie Betts & Dino Ebel’s decisions
[Music] So, did you feel like you were back in Atlanta for three days? I think this is the hottest game I think I’ve ever been a part of. I made a Cincinnati game. Had to be at least 13 years ago, a four:00 star. I think it was in August. And this was up before this one beats it. So this is uh when you talk about coming up in the minor leagues, the Gold Coast League helps weed out uh people if you come up to minor leagues. Uh this is it. This is this is as hard as it can get, but we got the win. How big was it for you guys to to win the last two series on this long road trip? I mean, like I told Kirst, we’ve been playing better baseball. I mean, it all starts with our pitching. Our pitching has been so good. Me and Blake was really good yesterday. So two shutouts in three games, it’s huge. uh as we walk and hopefully we can start swinging get some more runs but pitching is going to be the name of our game. We have really good starting pitching in there but it was awesome today. So it’s been nice to get when you guys aren’t still kind of scribbling like how big is it just to be able to manufacture some runs today in these couple innings when you were able to? Yeah, it’s big. I mean Mookie getting sacks fly there’s some positive things. So uh you know show getting on base on some bases uh getting guys on that was called making a walk getting you know getting things started. So there’s a lot of good things that happened today. I mean, as much as we want to hit him runs every time and score 10 runs, got to win games like this and it’s a good sign for us. How have you guys seen Muki kind of grinding through this and just kind of where he’s at? Yeah, I mean Mookie is going to outwork everybody and he’s doing it right now. He’s going to figure it out. Um I thought he was in a really good spot going into the day. Uh there were some really good swings in there, especially so hopefully he can carry in that wonderful bat in the last one with the sack fly. So hopefully you can take that positive thoughts into something great. What were you thinking when uh when Dino sent you, you know, uh it looked like you were thinking of a stop and then No, I I’m always ready to roll. When he sent me, I was like, “Oh man, I got to make this.” No, not scoring any runs yesterday. I get we got to be aggressive in the fifth accept inning. So I get it. Um I’m just glad I made it. Felt like I was going into quicksand halfway to halfway to home. Yamamoto been this season kind of whether or not he’s the run sport. Yeah, I mean Yoshi’s been great. So, I’m sure he wanted to get one more out to get the six innings. He wants to go as deep as he possibly can. He’s been doing it all year. Um, ever since he trained back from his shoulder injury last year, he’s looked like the guy that we thought we were going to get. It’s huge for us to go every five, six days have that. Um, and you have Snellback, you have Tyler Glass, now Shay, Kersh, Evan, Shean. what we envisioned a few months ago is starting to come around for our starting team. So, it’s on our offense to come up with them.
Freddie Freeman discussed how he handled playing through humid weather, Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitching well, confidence in Mookie Betts, being sent home by third base coach Dino Ebel and Los Angeles Dodgers lineup needing to support the pitching staff.

Mookie looking to retire and play pro bowling or what, he's been so crap.
Freddie needs to convince mookie to hit 8th
Starting to like our odds of scoring when Freddie comes up with RISP again. Saw him kind of do all the Freddie things that we were used to during this road-trip with the line to line and some power swings too. Crazy that after his 2 month slump, he's back to batting .300 on the year again.
Freddie's comment about Mookie made me check the Baseball Savant pages for Mookie and, just out of curiosity, Nolan Arenado. Eerily similar. I had forgotten Mookie hit 39 HRs only 2 seasons ago. I hope he follows Luka's example by spending this offseason working on his strength and fitness.
I was at the game and it was the hottest game I ever been to
Mookie is declining fast like my bank account
