  1. The year I was born was the season the 49ers won their first Super Bowl. When they lost in the 1997 NFC Championship Game I was 16 years old in the 11th grade. That puts a scale to how long that 49ers dynasty lasted.

  2. The 2010-14 San Francisco Giants dynasty would be a good one too. Won three World Series in five years and vanished. Even the star players just completely fell off.

  3. LOL anyone read that article? 02:39 It's hilarious. I wonder what ever happened to that writer…bet he ate some crow in the following years. I'm not a Niner fan but I have followed them since the late 70s – more or less – and all I remember from that time was they were losers. Bill Walsh came in and stripped the team down to the studs and built them into the champions we all know now. In the meantime…Reg Murphy did what?

  4. Still blows my mind that joe cool was on the board unto round 3. He was like a sleeper pick. He easily should have been a top 10 pick.

  5. Great video- great memories before the NFL turned ghetto-
I’ll always be grateful to Bill Walsh and Joe Montana for bringing 20 years of incredible football to the Bay Area
    * 86’ season ended in playoff loss to Giants also

  6. In the 80's I remember hearing people saying Sunday afternoons in San Francisco was the best time to go anywhere in the city. There was nobody around. You could find a great parking spot, go to an empty zoo, or just drive around around because there was no traffic. The 49ers were playing and everyone was glued to thier TV sets😂

  7. Air Coryell predates this Dynasty. Joe Gibbs one back offense arrived by the end of the same season this Dynasty. Dallas/Landeys spread offense could be considered modern football.. great Dynasty, possibly best ever but it didn’t bring about Modern football.

  8. Fun Fact:Paul Brown nearly ruined the career of Walsh by telling everyone that he didn't think Walsh was HC MATERIAL.Walsh got his chance to bring his offense to Cincinnati in the early '70s.

  9. That was an odd photo, taken from 1961 I believe, before a game against the Colts in December that year, of John Brodie warming up, to intro the De Bartolo Era.
