The Carolina Panthers Finally Have Good News and Jags Head Coach Takes a shot at Ejiro Evero…

What is going on, guys? Welcome back to the channel, Panthers Advice. The season is finally here. Now, the Panthers don’t play the day. They don’t play till Sunday, but I’m happy the NFL is back. We will be going live after the game on Sunday. I don’t know what time yet. It could be right after. It could be late at night. Probably have more information as we get closer to that time. But today’s video is going to be interesting. All right, we’re going over injuries and actually some good news at that. We’re going to go over what’s the most important matchup according to the Jags head coach. And he actually makes a good point. And it kind of scares me a little bit to be honest. All right, a couple more things. And we’re talking about a receiver who the Panthers claimed off waiverss. They have a type. All right, they have a type and it’s not just this regime. This goes back what, the last 10, 15 years. All right, so without further ado, man, let’s get into this thing. So, first up on the video, Panthers list three starting offensive linemen on first injury report of 2025 season. Now, obviously, you don’t want to see that, but at the same time, couple positives to take away from this. really it’s just offensive lineman on the injury report. I think there’s one DB, but the fact that that’s it, just offensive linemen, that’s a good sign. All right, and that’s probably where we’re the most deep at to be honest with you. And obviously, you don’t want injuries there, but nothing seems to be that serious. Let’s check out the article real quick. So, the Carolina Panthers might be down a few hog mollies for their regular season opener. Wednesday’s injury report, the first of the 2025 campaign for the team included three starting offensive linemen. left tackle Icky, which you knew about with that surgery, and guards Damen Lewis and Robert Hunt. Icky, who underwent a surgery last Sunday, did not participate in practice this afternoon. Head coach Dave Canel was asked what the plan would be at the position if I is out for the week one match up against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Yosh has been taking a lot of reps there, Canelo replied. Then also Brady Christensen. That’s going to be interesting to see. All right, let’s keep it going, though. Yosh has 11 career starts at left tackle, all as a member of the Green Bay Packers. He played exclusively at right tackle for the Panthers in 2024 where he recorded three starts and 187 total snaps. Brady started in the two games Icky missed this past season. Canal added that Hunt did not finish today’s session due to a foot injury and will be evaluated. Here’s the Panthers full injury report from Wednesday. You got Icky, all right, the illness, the surgery. You got Lewis, shoulder, ankle, Deari Matthysse, that’s the only person who was an offensive line who’s hurt, all right, on the injury report. And Robert Hunt, a foot injury. And the next thing we’re look at real quick before we keep this thing going is an injury report from last year. All right, from the names Jay and Below, last names at that, right? And kind of shows you how sporadic some of these injuries were. Now, there was nothing too too crazy, but like you look right here, Aan Robinson, questionable throughout the whole season pretty much. I mean, what week three, four, what, six, seven, eight, the last three games? Because you know how the saying goes, right? If you come into the season limping, you’re going to leave the season limping as well. And that seems to be what happened to Asan Robinson. And now you have people who are going to start in front of him. I’m telling you, this dude, we might be shocked at what he produces potentially. Now, that all depends on a few factors, right? The Panthers have to get a lead. We have to be able to get a lead to be able to pass rush more in general, right? But Aan Robinson, he might shock some people. Again, there’s a few factors that play into that as well, but other than that, nothing too crazy as far as this list of players right here. You had Taylor Motton kind of questionable throughout the season. All right, Andrew right there. Nothing too crazy though. Travon Sanders versus Kansas City. He was out and questionable and he was really never the same after he returned. Let’s keep it going. Look at the next list right here. As you can see right here, this list is a little bit more concerning. This is, I believe, from Pro Football Reference. So, any of this data, you know, kind of sourced it back to them. Just want to give that heads up out there, too. But you got Trevon right here who missed the last four games. You got Shaq Thompson who was injured. You got Devin Tomkins right here, only missed that first game. Ian Thomas, you know, Adam th the damn, you know, when he got hurt. Oh, he got hurt. All right, what else we got? You got Shaw Smith, Wade didn’t miss too much right there. Nick Scott, the whole We’ll get to that in a little bit. We’ll get to the dev chart in a little bit. You got Miles Sanders. I don’t know if he missed that many games or not. Again, source it back to I think Pro Football Reference. So, I want to spend too much time on this, but I want to show you guys this for reference. The Panthers almost made a late push all right at the end of last year. But you can see some guys being out potentially affected that. Let’s keep it going though. Next up is the dev chart. We’re going to spend a little bit of time on this right here. But Panthers released their first dev chart. All right, the unofficial depth chart at that of the regular season on Tuesday heading into season opener, the Jacksonville Jaguars. There are no real surprises on the chart other than the recent shakeup at receiver that saw Adam Than traded the day after cuts to 53 followed by the injury that landed Jason Coker on IR and Hunter Renfro resigned after he was released last Tuesday. Now Renfro was listed as a starter at wide receiver alongside McMillan and Legette. Sanders is still listed as a starting tight end with Tommy Treble behind him after returning from his offseason back surgery. On defense, the starting line is listed as Tershan, Aan, and Derek Brown with Bobby Brown listed behind Wharton. The reality is those four were largely mixed. That makes sense, right? Defensive line, pick and choose where you want them to go. Nick Scott is listed as the other starting safety to Trayvon Merik, backed up by rookie Lean Ransom and secondyear man Demani Richardson. Again, these guys will kind of plug and play depending on the scheme and how Aar wants to attack certain offenses, right? The big one change is on the special teams. Ryan Fitzgerald, of course, as a kicker listed since he won the initial training camp competition for the job. Fellow rookie Trevor Etn is listed as the first kicker returner and punt returner with Rico, David, and Jimmy listed next on kickoffs and more and Horn behind him on punts. So, as you look at the dev chart and kind of go over this real quick, Renfro starting the slot. Somebody brought it up in my comments in my last video about Dan Morgan potentially hustled the Vikings, you know, making it seem like Renfro wasn’t a part of the team and then bang gets cut, Renfro comes. Nicely played right there. But let’s take a look at who we got right here. So potentially their X right here, Tedaroa, David Moore, Cample, which we’re going to look at in a second. It’s going to be interesting to see right there. Slot is Hunter Renfro. All right. And then our Z is down here. Legette, Bryson, Jimmy Horn. thought Jimmy Chimmy would be right here to be honest with you. So if you look at it like this I mean my thing is what you probably have I think you have David Moore right here in the slot. Okay. And I don’t see Jimmy Horn playing the Z. I mean he could right but I see Jimmy Horn back here. Okay. So I see it like this where you got Tedaroa Campbell which we’ll talk about in a second. Hunter Refro Horn depending on the scheme package. What down is it? How many yards to go do you play David Moore? Do you play Jimmy Horn? And then playing the Z is Legette and Bryson Tmaine. And honestly, I kind of like Campbell down here, you know, and Tmaine up here to be honest. But that’s to his throne, right? Keep it going. Sanders, Treble, Mitchell Evans, James Mitchell, running backs, Chuba, Rico, Trevor Tien. Again, like I said before, nothing too crazy. Defensive ends, defensive tackles. All right. Terson, Derek Brown, Aan, Cam Jackson, Bobby Brown. Again, it’s going to come down to yardage down, you know, offensive personnel, things like that. Keep it going. All right. Patrick Jones, Travin Wallace, Christian Noseboom, DJ Wanom, Scorton, Bam, Claude Princeley, Thomas, DJ. This right here is a solid core. I mean, DJ Johnson, it’s it’s now or never for him to be honest with you. It’s now or never. Can you improve this year? Can you make a name for yourself? If this is his breakout year, it’s going to boost up the outside linebackers a lot. If it’s not, it’s not going to do a lot cuz he’s already third string. But if he improves outside linebacking core, we’re going to be sitting good. And then we look at inside linebackers. I already know what we have with Claude to be honest with you. You got Christian Roseboom, you got Trevon, you got Ban Martin Scott. We’ll see what happens. All right. We’ll see what happens. You got Mike JJC Horn, Corey Thornton, Shaw Smith Wade. I like where we are at the quarterback room to be honest with you. Cory Throttton, man, a ton of potential. Shaw Smith Wade, he’s obviously improved. Okay, so as much as we kind of give Averro a hard time, Shaw Smith Wade has improved. All right, and you’ve seen it on the tape. You got Mike Jay and JC Horn. Not a bad quarterback room. A Caleb Evans. The few times I saw him, it wasn’t a good look, but maybe the Panthers see something. All right. and Deari Matthysse. You see right here, he was on the injury report. So, that definitely kind of changes things a little bit. I mean, they still have five quarterbacks, so I wouldn’t be too concerned. You got Trayvon Merrick, Demani, Nick Scott, Lean Ransom. The safety room might go back and forth on. Do I love Nick Scott starting? No. But if Aver’s doing kind of what the Browns are doing with their quarterback, having Flaco start and seeing which rookie is going to eventually overtake him, I’m not mad at that. I mean, it could cost the Panthers a game or two potentially. Potentially. But if that’s what he’s doing to start the season off, seeing which one’s going to prove themselves, it’s not the end of the world, right? It’s not the end of the world. Let’s keep it going. All right. Special teams Trevor is starting both. That’s interesting. You know, I’m excited because that dude’s electric. All right. Then behind him, returners, David Moore, Rico on the kick, David Moore, Jimmy Horn, and then Jimmy Horn. JJ Sam and Ryan Fitzgerald is the new kicker for the Carolina Panthers. And then next up, we’re gonna be looking at DC Dalvin Campbell right here. 6’4 220 again. 6’4 220. You see the receivers the Panthers going after. Whether it’s McMillan who’s right around that same thing. Bryson Tmaine, he’s 6’4. All right. These are the receivers the Panthers are going after right here. Right here, you know, gets over the DB. And then this is what the Panthers want right here. This is what the Panthers want. A receiver who can high point that ball, who’s got a tremendous height advantage, you know, over the DBs. It feels like we’re going back what, 10, 15 years ago in that era. Almost the same thing like it was with DBs where you’re getting that 62dB play zone coverage. Kind of like the Legion of Boom, right? It kind of feels like that’s what the Panthers are doing with Dvin Campbell right here. I mean, he’s got hands, right? first place I was like, “Okay, he’s catching it with his body.” But then the last two plays I see right here. All right, look at that. Now, that being said, all right, with that being said, he was in Waverly. He was released by the Chargers, it looks like. So, I can’t sit here and hype him up too much, but then we’ll keep it going. All right, inside route right here against the Saints. Holds on to the ball in traffic right there. Good stuff. On second and 14, first and 10 right here. Back to the NerS again. You see what you’re getting out of him is this right here. Go up and get it. Use that big body. Block out the DB right there. I mean, the DB has no shot, right? Quarterback with a hell of a throw, too, to be honest. But the DB has no shot at that man. All right, I think we have a couple more plays left. Once again, you see him catching in traffic, going across the middle. You see what the Panthers looking for. 6’4, 220. Can he run across the middle? Can he make plays over the top? And he looks to be that guy. Again, he’s third string on the dev chart. So, we’ll see what happens, if he gets any burn time or when he’ll get burn time, but just want to give you guys a quick little background on him. And as we wrap this thing up, our last topic is this right here. Liam Cohen, the Jaguars head coach. All right, quick little background on him. Started in the NFL as far as coaching in 2018, assistant wide receivers coach with the Rams. 2020 with the Rams. 2021 Kentucky. 2022 Rams again, offensive coordinator. 2023 back to Kentucky 2024 Bucks offensive coordinator. So he took Dave Canalis job and now he’s versing Dave Canelis as a head coach week one. This is interesting right here. So the last two Buccaneers offensive coordinators are now versing each other. Interesting stuff right here. Now when I saw this article I’m like is this going to be something stupid? Right? So I’m reading it. What will be the deciding factor between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Carolina Panthers? Jaguars head coach Liam Cohen touched on it Monday. All right. The game of football is all about matchups and the Jacksonville Jaguars week one open over Carolina Panthers will be no different. The margins of error in the NFL are so minor that any edge can give a team da da da da. So we’ll keep it going. So what is the most important match for the Jaguars to win if they want to leave week one with a 1 and0 record? While Cohen did not outright say the result will depend on Brian Thomas versus Panthers star quarterback JC Horn, it is clear it is at the top of the Jaguars list. Nonetheless, obviously they have a really good corner on defense over there in Horn. Panthers quarterback JC Horn. So, that’s going to be a great matchup. How do we get Brian Thomas either one-on-one with him or move him around? Whatever it is, but I think the last few practices have been better for him. Cohen said, “All right, what does this mean?” He kind of answered it right there. I think it’s almost like a slide out of Vero, to be honest with you. They have a really good corner on defense over there in Horn. All right, so that’s going to be a great matchup. How do we get, you know, BT one with horn or move him around? I mean, right there it answers it, right? Just move him around and now he’s no longer on horn because according to Vero, the DBs aren’t going to travel, right? So, Brian Thomas versus Mike Jackson is going to be interesting. And that goes back to what I said before about the safety position. If Averro is going to do this whole thing, right, where he’s going to start Nick Scott and see who’s going to prove themselves between Leon Ransom and Demani Richardson, that safety potentially how they play Trayvon Merrick, right? It’ll be interesting to see. But that safety potentially is going to have to play over the top with Mike Jay, right, guarding Brian Thomas. The worst thing about Mike Jay is he gets beat when it comes to man-to-man, right? Those deep routes, Mike Jay gets beat. That’s his weakness. That’s his kryptonite, right? That’s when he gets destroyed. It’s going to be up to the safety at that point to make sure Mike Jay doesn’t get destroyed that bad. So, when I say starting Nick Scott could cost the Panthers one to two, three, four games, depending on what happens, that’s what I mean by that. Unless Nick Scott’s improved from last year, I hope he has. Oh, I hope he has. But if he hasn’t and you know Liam basically kind of says the obvious right here without really saying the obvious about oh get Brian Thomas open by just moving him across the field from JC Horn. Now he’s oneonone with Mike Jay and give him the Panther safety play. You see where I’m going? So it’s going to be interesting to see what happens. All right. So with that being said, Ben, that’s going to wrap it up. Interesting video today. We talked about injuries, a new receiver, 64220. Add that to the list of already guys we have like that. And then the Jaguars head coach kind of stay in the obvious. You know, our best receiver, if we move him now, he’s no longer on their best DB. We’ll see what happens, right? We’ll see what happens. The game will be here very, very soon. I’ll catch you guys later. Take it easy. Paris is out. Peace.

Today we’re talking about the Carolina Panthers starting 2025 season roster and what it means moving forward. Also mention new receivers and the Jags head coach calling Liam Cohen out Ejiro Evero over hime scheme…

  1. I was hoping to see kaleb king get a shot soon hopefully they don’t let him get taken from the practice squad without giving him a good look seems like a great fit with high upside

  2. It's about damn time the season is here I've been waiting for this and I'm going to try to not let things like the Adam thielen trade kill my hype although I am still a little bitter about that.

I still maintain that if the Panthers play well and the gamble on young rookies if that pays off then the Panthers should absolutely be able to go seven and oh to start the season easily like I said in previous streams of yours there are only really four teams we have to worry about unless some teams surprise us and have an out of nowhere resurgence like the Lions did we only have four teams to concern ourselves with.

Everybody else we should either steamroll or they're only a mid-level threat at worst.
