Like our players, we sweat every detail because when you make every move count, pulling off the unexpected is only the beginning. Stay tuned later for highlights in this week’s Moving the Game Forward. Mazda move and be moved. Biggest takeaways and game balls coming up a little bit later. Starting the show off as we always do with the biggest moment. And I thought for sure the biggest moment was going to be Jamal Dean’s pick six at the end of the first half. Up until that point, the Bucks were really struggling. Instead, the defense completely implodes in the fourth quarter. Allows the Jets to take a 27 to 26 lead late or after uh they were trailing 23-6 to start the quarter. It was it was bad defense down the stretch, which we’re going to talk about more in a little bit. Then you had more special teams blunders that led to the collapse. But for the third straight week, the Buccaneers found a way to win at the end of a game. It may be a little weak. It might be a little bit of a copout, but the biggest moment in this game was the final play. And Chase Mclofflin, wait, excuse me. I’m sorry. Illinois legend Chase Mclofflin hitting a 36yd field goal to win the game. The reason that was the biggest moment wasn’t just because it won them the game, it was because Mclofflin needed that moving forward. Three missed kicks in the first two games. And then that last one by Chase was his fifth made field goal on the day. He made them from 54, 33, 28, 55, and 36. He did have one blocked and returned for the touchdown that gave the the Jets the lead and put the Bucks in the mess that they were in at the end of the game. But that wasn’t on him. That was on the protection which has allowed a blocked punt and a blocked field goal in each of the last two weeks. But after the Bucks didn’t bring in any competition for Mclofflin after the Houston game, for him to make five out of six, including the gamewinner, was huge for his confidence moving forward. That’s why the Illinois legend moniker is back. I had insiders texting me throughout the game when Chase made one from 50 plus and then he made another one and then he made another one and I I had insiders going, “Illino legend. Illinois legend.” I was like, “No, I’m not ready for that yet. I’m not ready for that moniker to be brought back because it takes more than what he had done earlier in the game. It took that entire game and then to be able to come through immediately. We’re talking a minute and 43 seconds after having one blocked to go back out on the field with the game on the line and for him to drill it straight down the middle and get the Bucks to 3 and 0. Now, now the Illinois legend moniker for Chase Mclofflin has been earned once again. The Bucks needed every kick that they could get from him and he came through. Also, shout out to Amecha Ibuka. Some clutch catches in this game, including a 28-yard gain up the sideline to get that game-winning drive started. The refs absolutely hosed him later in that drive. I don’t know how that incomp completion doesn’t get overturned or even reviewed because he clearly had one foot down when he gained possession and then had the wherewithal to tap the toe again after his foot had come off the ground before he secured the possession. That was one of the best catches that we’ve seen this year, but it didn’t count because it didn’t even bother to get reviewed. The officiating was atrocious for most of the day. Uh I’m not saying that the Bucks didn’t deservedly get a bunch of holding calls against them, but to uphold Lazard’s touchdown that clearly hit the ground before he regained possession, a phantom pass interference on Jamal Dean to negate his second interception of the day. And then the review that wasn’t for Ibuka’s catch, it was just terrible officiating. But man, with with Evans suffering an injury in this game, leaving the Bucks with a receiving core of Ibuka, Shep, and Tez in that twominute drill, those guys stepped up. Tez almost ended it on a double move deep shot where Baker overthrew him, but Shepard has been absolutely incredible through the first three games of the season. Those guys stepped up in a huge, huge way. Ibuka is just he’s so good and he’s going to be special for a long long time in Tampa. I mean, we’re seeing the start of a Mike Evans level impact from Ibuka for this team, you know, for the next decade plus. He has been that good and that impressive. One quick note uh before we jump into the chat. This is per the NFL via Greg Almond on Twitter. The Bucks are now the first team since 1970 to win their first three games of the season with go-ahad scores in the final minute of all three games. This has not happened since before the Buccaneers were even a team. And kudos to the Bucks and the way that they did this 50th anniversary celebration. over a hundred former players and coaches in attendance. They had a big display at halftime. They were showing former players up on the board there at Ray J all game long. You had Gruden sitting with um you know Ronda Barber and Warren Sap. You had Alli Marquette and Ryan Jensen and Shaq Barrett and Bruce Arens all sitting together. You had Warrick Dunn and Mike allott sitting together. The Bucks did an absolutely fantastic job of incorporating the past with the present in this game. Uh so kudos, hats off to the Bucks organization for putting together a really special home opener for the Bucks in this game. I’m I’m really glad they were able to pull off the win and make it all worth it. Gonna jump into the chat real quick. Uh Reginald says it was NFL laundry day. Uh can’t argue with that. That was that was rough. I mean, the Bucks had something like 124 penalty yards in this game. And again, I will say that the vast majority of those holding penalties were legit. They were the right calls. You know, I thought the one on Mike Evans was a little tickytac. Um, at the same time, the pass interference against Sauce that gave the Bucks a first down, I thought that was a little ticky tack. I thought the the defensive pass interference on Dean was egregious. uh that that absolutely you should not penalize a defender for a wide receiver slipping and falling on their own. Um so it was just it was an ugly game at the start. It got really good in the middle and then it was an ugly game there again at the end. Uh Danny says never ever let your foot off the gas in the NFL. Bulls does this so much almost cost us another game. Funny you bring that up because I’m going to talk more about that coming up in a little bit. Uh, Revelation Space 99, Lazar did not have control of that ball. Agree 100%. We even got the perfect angle. We got the exact angle that we needed to see the ball get jarred loose and him not regain clear control until he went to the ground and secured the ball off the ground to his leg. That was a terrible, terrible um call by the officials. Richard says, “Clutch Sterling.” Absolutely. I can for you know what a a a hat tip to Sterling Shepard as well. We go back to last year and you remember down the stretch without Chris Godwin uh part of the time without Mike Evans out there on the field. Sterling Shepard had some horrendous drops. We talked time and time again on this show about a bad drop that Sterling Shepard had to kill a drive early on in some of these games. He has been everything that the Bucks have needed him to be through the first three games. He’s getting yards after catch. He’s making tough catches. He’s making clutch catches. He has been really, really good. And he has been exactly what the Bucks needed with Chris Godwin and Jaylen McMillan sidelined right now. G Vegas says, “Don’t hype up Grizz. Baker makes OC’s into HC’s, meaning head coaches, and I see a lot of promise with Grizz.” I do, too. Uh, I absolutely see a lot of promise with Grizz. And, uh, it’s going to get real interesting when he has his full aotment of what he’s going to be able to use as a play caller. Biggest takeaways. That is coming up next on today’s episode of Locked On Bucks, part of the Locked On Network. your team every day. Thank you to all of you in the live chat watching right now on YouTube. It’s time for the biggest takeaways. Takeaway number one, this one was on Todd BS. The Bucks got the win. And I saw Demon Hunter in here 25 minutes before the live show even started. And he even said it doesn’t matter if it’s ugly or it’s pretty. A win is a win is a win. And you’re 100% right. That’s all that matters. Excuse me. Right now, the only thing that matters is the Bucks have three wins in the win column and zero losses in the loss column. But blowing that lead is 100% on Todd BS. That defense was soft in the fourth quarter. Soft. Sa wwwft soft. It was like he was going with his patented bend don’t break approach where they were giving up yards, but they forgot the don’t break part. The defense had been so good all game long, dialing up pressure, being aggressive, getting third down stops. Going from that to essentially a prevent defense took all the wind out of the defensive’s sales. And then when they needed to turn it back on, they couldn’t. If the Bucks had lost, I would not be screaming or yelling into this microphone to fire Todd BS or anything like that. But he has to be better in those moments. If you do something like that next week against the Eagles or on the road against the Rams or the Bills, it’s going to cost you a game. When the aggression was working, there was no reason to stop because once it was time to clamp down and get some stops, it was too late. The Jets offense was playing with a ton of confidence in the Bucks defense could not get themselves dialed back up. This is the NFL. you keep your foot on the gas and do not let up ever because a game can turn in an instant, which is what we saw in this one. Luckily, the Bucks have number six on the other side and they were able to put together another game-winning drive. But you absolutely cannot go into a prevent defense, especially with that much time left in a game. It really almost cost the Buccaneers a win in this one. Takeaway number two, Mike Evans getting hurt is the absolute worst. Evans was clearly angry and frustrated walking back to the locker room after suffering a hamstring injury. You go back to last year and he tried to play through it. He tried to come back and and push himself to play after injuring his hamstring. He reagravated it and then ended up missing a month because he made it worse by going out there too soon. Now he’s going to feel pressure, not not external pressure, not pressure from BS or Grizz or Baker or Jason Light or anything like that. He’s going to take on internal pressure because of who he is as a player and as a competitor to get out there and play against the Philadelphia Eagles. And I think it’s truly in his and the Buck’s best interest to not let him. You need to shut down Mike Evans for the next week at least. There was a report from Adam Shfter. I’ve seen some of you talk about it in the chat. A report from Sheffer Sunday morning that there is a good chance that Tristan Worse and Chris Godwin make their season debuts next week against the Philadelphia Eagles. Thank God because Worf’s returning moves Bredesen back to guard. It moves Barton back to center. From there, you just hope that Geti is back sooner than later. Michael Jordan is on his way back as well. But I’m going to be honest with the way the Bucks offensive line has played the last two weeks against the Texans and against the Jets, I do not think that they can beat the Eagles. Not against that defense in that pass rush. So with Evans, the last thing you want to do is rush him back. Ibuka is your guy. He is your wide receiver one right now. Godwin, if he comes back, great. Fantastic. Love that. He’s going to help. Sterling Shepard again been absolutely outstanding through three games. He is going to get more involved with Evans off the field. Get get TZ Johnson and Kate Uton more involved. Uton I get it. He had to help with protection, but he had no targets against the New York Jets. You needed a two and two start in the first month without worse and Godwin with those two guys sideline. You needed a two and two start. You’re three and 0 for the first time in two decades. No one wants to see the Bucks lose to the Eagles. But you can go into this one without Evans for the greater good of the season and for the long term rather than see him what do what he did last year. Takeaway number three, the O line. It’s going to be okay. I’m here, you know, some negativity about Bulls, some negativity surrounding Mike Evans injury. I’m gonna I’m gonna end the takeaways with a positive spit. I know I didn’t get to react to, you know, the offensive line shuffle because my week last week went off the rails. I could not get my final preview episode done for that. I apologize. Shout out to my youngest son for breaking his wrist and shifting all of my plans around to end the week. But Cody Malc being out for the season is not the end of the world. It sucks, but I think the Bucks are going to be okay. You get worse back, which drastically improves the left side of the line right out of the gate. Him by himself improves the left side of the line. Now you get to move Bredesen back to guard. That makes the left side even stronger. Barton goes back to center. That makes things up the middle even better. Geti is not going to be out all year. Neither is Jordan. Once they’re back, you have Jordan flipping from left to right guard. You have Geti back at right tackle. This offense is going to open up. I promise you. Give stamp this with the James Jarco guarantee. I promise you the offense is going to open up. I’ve said it a million times. It’s the orchestra comparison. That’s what an offensive line is. They have been jumbled and rearranged and discombobulated so much to start the season that there’s no flow. There’s no continuity. There’s no trust. Now, Worf’s return will fix three positions in and of itself. From there, you’ll start to see the run game open up a little bit more. You’ll see those longer developing plays be used a little bit more because the protection is there and Baker has time to sit back there. you’ll see the offense really start to take shape the way that it was intended to look this season under Josh Grisard. So for those saying that the Bucks are in trouble the rest of the season, that they’re going to get bounced in the first round of the playoffs again, relax. Take a deep breath. Woo, the protection, the run blocking, those lanes for Bucky and Rashad, it’s all going to get better over the course of the next couple of weeks. It may not look like it against Philly, but trust me, it’s going to get better, and that’s when the Bucks are really going to be able to hit their stride. Going to jump into the chat real quick. Hugo uh says, “James Jarco guarantee with the laugh emoji.” Hey man, I’ll put my name on it. You guys know, you know, when I’m wrong, I’ll eat my crow, but I’ll I’ll put my name on this one. Frank G says, “Bucks going 16-1. My son said that the Bucks are going to go 17-0 and every single game is going to be decided by a Baker Mayfield game-winning drive in the final minute.” Um Vincent in the chat says 700,000 holding calls. Sure felt that way. Uh Reginald, offensive line is offensive but 3 and 0. Uh Derek Bucks beating the Eagles with worse and Godwin. Evans didn’t look bad. He’ll be back. He’d cramp. It was crazy there. That wasn’t as much as I wanted it to be. That wasn’t a cramp. That was You saw him on the replay. As soon as he made that cut to go inside, he immediately pulled up lame and started limping. He was You’re not You’re not screaming and punching water coolers when you get to the sideline and going straight back into the locker room for a cramp. That was a hamstring injury. We just have to wait to see what the severity of that injury is going to be. Game balls being handed out yet again. That is coming up next on today’s episode of Locked on Bucks. Episode is brought to you by Mazda’s Moving the Game Forward. For those who believe it’s not just about playing the game, it’s about redefining it. There are moments that do more than put points on the board. They move crowds, move culture, and keep moving the game forward. Once again, the Bucks had to orchestrate a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter in week three. Baker Mayfield with his never say die attitude found a Mecca Ibuka for a 28-y gain. Then Sterling Shepard for another 20 yards to set the Bucks up for a 36-yd field goal attempt at the end of regulation. Then it was Chase Mclofflin sending the kick right down the middle for a 29-27 Buccaneers win. It’s safe to say that after missing three kicks in the first two games and having one blocked earlier in their game against the Jets, it was far from a sure thing in the closing seconds. But the Bucks are now 3-0 for the first time in 20 years. When you follow what moves you, the unexpected is only the beginning. And just like there’s more to every highlight, there’s more to every Mazda vehicle. Mazda, move and be moved. The NFL season is here and FanDuel is making sure you’re ready for kickoff with a can’t miss offer. Right now, new customers can bet just $5. There’s nothing yet for the Bucks and Eagles in week four, but the Bucks are now minus 260 to win the NFC South, minus420 to make the playoffs, plus 135 to win 12 games, and plus 2200 to win the Super Bowl. So, are you ready? Download the FanDuel app now by visiting FanDuel.com to get started. That’s fuel.com to place your first $5 bet. [Music] Rev things up here on today’s episode of Locked On Bucks, a live postgame reaction episode. Drop your game balls in the chat. You guys know how this goes. Going to start off with the golden game ball. The the player of the game. It’s Baker Mayfield. I know. I know. I should probably give it to Chase Mclofflin. Spoiler alert. I didn’t give Chase Mclofflin a game ball. He deserved one, but I didn’t give him one. Baker Mayfield gets our golden game ball in this one. He just keeps coming up big. 19 for 29 for 233 yards and a touchdown plus 44 yards on the ground. You know, every time the Bucks need him to make a play or to put together a drive or really anytime they need anything, Baker Mayfield has found a way to get the job done this season. It has been absolutely outstanding. I’m going to start calling him and I I saw uh Destined for Greatness mention this in the chat or I’m sorry, Demon Hunter mentioned this in the chat. I called him Goon. I called him that to the insiders. I called him that on Twitter because Baker never says die. Uh shout out to all of you that are old enough to get that reference. Three games, three game-winning drives, three times where Baker Mayfield had ice in his veins and did whatever it took to get the job done. This is why Bucks fans love him. This is why the Bucks gave him that money and they signed him to the big deal. This is why he is their franchise quarterback. Bruce Arens on the Pat McAfee show last week said Baker Mayfield owns the city of Tampa. Six touchdowns, no turnovers on the season, always makes the biggest plays in the biggest moments. Game ball number two and our top defensive player of the game, Jamal Dean. Credit where credit is due, guys. Dean with the pick six and the first interception by the Bucks since his own last year against Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers. There should have been two interceptions, a weak pass interference call, negated the second one, but Dean was fantastic in this game. His coverage was good. His reads were good. Best game we have seen from Jamal Dean start to finish in a long, long time. If he keeps playing like that, Benjamin Morrison is going to have to wait quite some time before he gets to be part of the starting defense. Game ball number three, my second offensive game ball. It goes to Amecha Ibuka. He’s the early favorite for offensive rookie of the year. That’s not based on odds. It’s simply my observations of how the offensive rookies across the league are performing. He led the Bucks with 85 yards on six receptions. That one-handed catch, guys, that was a thing of absolute beauty. It was It was everything that you want out of your first round receiver in one play. his he’s second among rookies in yards, receiving yards, trailing Tet McMillan by 35, tied for first in receptions, and he is in first in receiving touchdowns. In fact, he’s tied for the second most touchdowns from scrimmage in the league through three weeks, not including the four:00 games because I have not stated those out as they are happening right now. Had it not been for the abysmal officiating, he would have had his first 100yard game and he would be within 10 yards of McMillan for the most receiving yards among rookies so far this season. Game ball number four, our second defensive game ball. Anwine Himfield Jr. He finally got the takeaway train started. A huge strip sack of Tyrod Taylor that was recovered by Vea. The Bucks hadn’t gone three games to start a season season in their 50-year history without a takeaway, but entered the game against the Jets without one this season. Winfield with a fantastic blitz forced the ball out of Taylor’s hand. Vea was Johnny on the spot and was able to recover it. That takeaway led to a field goal by Mclofflin to give the Bucks a seven-point lead. And then just a few short minutes later, it was Dean keeping things rolling with the pick six. Takeaways come in bunches and Winfield finally broke the seal. He had some nice hits, couple of tackles for loss. Solid coverage. Another typical Winfield performance. Going to jump into the chat to see who who you guys are giving game balls to. Jump Jimbo Shrump. Uh kicker doesn’t get a game ball. I know. I’m sorry. I I I kind of I botched that one. But you know what? Maybe we need to do five game balls. We do two offense, two defense, and then the occasional one special teams if it warrants it. Um, let’s see. We got Revelation Space 99 game balls to Baker, Dean, and Amecha Ibuka. Demon Hunter says Baker for MVP. Uh, Gary says, “I had someone else, but you sold me on Chase Mclofflin.” Uh, Bucko Rice, game balls to Dean, Shep, Tiki, and Baker. I love that. I love the the the game ball for Shep and Tiki. He had another big time uh pass break up in the end zone in this one. Demon Hunter says, “Game ball to Baker, Ibuka, Dean, and Chase.” Derek says, “The BBs are the Eagles kryptonite.” We’re going to have to get later into the week. Right now, I still don’t know if I believe that the Bucks can win that game. Let’s see how practices go. Let’s get some updates on guys like Mike Evans, like KKE who left the game with injury. Uh, let’s find out what’s going on with Worfs and Godwin, you know, before I I start making that claim. It could be another really ugly game. It could be like a 13-10 finish if neither one of the offenses can get going. But you’re right, Todd Bull seems to have Jaylen Herz’s number. I just don’t know if he’s going to have it in this particular matchup. Um, let’s see. Chief says, “Our opponent’s combined record is 1 and8. Not sure how to take that.” I mean, the Falcons really stunk against the Panthers. The Jets, I mean, the Jets are so up and down. Um, because they took the Steelers right down to the wire. Um, you know, took the Bucks right down to the wire. Uh, the the Jets are going to be a good football team. They really truly are. Aaron Glenn’s going to have this team turned around sooner than later. Uh, so you know, I I wouldn’t take it with much more than a grain of salt. Uh, for right now. Danny in the chat says, “Vita looked like it was an interception. That would have been first.” It did look like an interception, but it wasn’t. It was officially scored as a fumble and a recovery by Vita. So, Jamal Dean’s interception was their first of the season according to the official stats from the NFL. Uh, I thought the same thing uh as well when it happened, but it was officially scored as a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Um, Mr. King says Lane Johnson is out, referring to the uh Eagles offensive lineman. I don’t know if he’s going to be out after this game. He did leave with an injury against the Rams. We’ll see again how that plays out throughout the week. The Bucks are not the only ones with injuries to keep an eye on as uh as we head into the week. Richard gives a game ball to Charlie Hec who had no penalties on laundry day. You know what, Richard? I I love that. Uh because he had a real rough game against the Texans. Seemed to have bounced back pretty well against the Jets in this one. So, you know what? We’re going to end on that note. That’s a fantastic game ball. And uh and that’s how we’re going to wrap things up. Please check out everything going on on Twitter, Locked OnBucks, Jr_Bucks. There were some questionable calls in this game!!! Think the referees had their money on the jets!! It was very obvious!!!
O line in shambles, 150 yards in penalties, blocked fg returned for a TD and still won 🤷🏽♂️
As cool as this is. We need to hold a lead. We can't expect to be able to pull it off every game.
Great performance. So happy for the guys.
Tip of the hat to Baker, he led what should have been a game sealing drive, and followed it up with a game winning drive.
On Bowles 100%! SOFT in the 4th quarter!
No need to rush Godwin and wirfs back!
Play the same line ,take our lumps if need be get everyone game healthy and pick it up!
How do you think Elijah Klein did?
The defense allowed the long touchdown drives which was bad.
The blocked punt was a great play by Old McDonald.
Buc seasons with 3-0 starts: 1979, 1997, 2000, 2005
Last time Bucs started 4-0 was 2005. Also started 4-0 in 1979 and 1997.
Baker is a scrapper.
The Cardiac Bucs is right what a nail bitter. 😁
Looked like they almost blocked that last field goal also!
One criticism is they sat on the lead and tried to play ultra Conservative and great teams do not do that. They gave the jets the chance to come back! They could have put the game away.
The defense played good. Baker stalling drives was and is the issue. We been hanging our hat on our def
They almost gave it away. That defense needs to play like Chicago defense did today
James Yarcho why is it okay for the Kansas City Chiefs to win last year by one point or last seconds and refs helped them win by luck all season but everyone question the Bucs for winning the same way. Without refs cheating for us. We are earning every Win!? Let’s Go Bucs
Y’all Bowles hater always against the man win or lose he always get talk down . never get no credit for nothing 🤷♂️🤷♂️
The refs were horrendous and special teams/defense (in 2nd half) almost cost us the game. That's on Todd! A win is a win though 🤷
I was saying that as soon as the game started this is the worst officiating crew in the NFL
You can even see those plays clearly on the jumbotron, and those atrocious referees still made the wrong call. Teams should sue the dam NFL when they f@&k up. We should have won the game by two score.
I was so happy to see Hardy the Hardware Nickerson!
Sheppard has been money man
Brian Picucci and Kevin Carberry need a raise, what a job they are doing.
Dean only plays good on his contract year, Jason is a genius!
This is all a flex. We are Saving our best players Down the stretch.
I’m fine with Bowles soft defense. Bend don’t break let the clock roll in the 4th as your forcing them to methodically go down the field. Then the catch that put them one score away wasn’t a catch and would have been a turnover on downs. Now look at the reverse side of it. If Bowles on offense is still trying to score and mayfield gets hit to much and hurt it’s the exact opposite… yall would be in here talkin about how Bowles is an idiot for being aggressive behind this patch work offensive line.
I’d kinda like Bredeson to stay at center and Barton take mauchs spot
Baker woke up feeling dan6erous and poured himself a big ol bowl of Captain Clutch, let's go Bucs!
23:24 “WWWRRRAA____________PING things up”
My favorite part of every episode 😂
It felt like we were time warping back to 1976 watching the Jets run back that blocked kick.
Evans may want to consider a physical therapy appt prior to playing to stretch the muscle fibers and loosen them up prior to playing.
Is this our first throw back jersey win??? I don't remember that well.
Mikes not sitting out next week
