Bucs Brightside: Pewter Positives In Week 4 Loss vs. Eagles
I’m Scott Reynolds from Pewer Reports and welcome to Bucks Bright Side where we don’t talk about punts, only punt returns because punts are bad and pump returns are good. That’s right. This is your weekly dose of pewtor positivity. We do it after every Bucks game, win or lose. And there were plenty of positives to talk about in this game. I mean in the second half because the first half sucked. I mean really sucked. Outside of of course Chase Mclofflin 65 yard field goal and the fact that Tristan Worps and Chris Godwin returned to action. I’ll talk about the second half in just a moment. First a reminder, hit the thumbs up button on this video. Give it a like. Also leave a comment. Love reading your comments. Doing those two things helps us with the YouTube algorithm gets us in front of more awesome Bucks fans like you. Make sure you head over to Peter Report TV, our YouTube channel, and hit subscribe. We’re on the way to 22,000 thanks to you. Okay, let’s pretend that the Bucks Eagles game started with that 65 field goal by Chase Mclofflin, which set a new franchise record for the longest field goal in team history, as well as the longest outdoor kick in NFL history as well. No, we can’t do that. We can’t bend time on the timeline and the multiverse. The Matrix just wouldn’t like that. So, we can’t pretend that the first half of the Bucks Eagles game didn’t happen because it did. But we can start with the fact that Chase Money Mclofflin is officially back. A perfect three of three on field goals on Sunday and he made both extra points with no misses or blocks. Money Mclofflin cashed in with field goals of 42 yards, 65 yards, and that final chip shot of 58 yards. And how about the punt returns by Cam Johnson? He’s going to break one for a touchdown this year. Maybe two. It’s coming. I just wish that Todd Bulls had told his defensive players that the start of the game was actually at 100 p.m. Eastern time, not 2:15, because that’s about what time the defense showed up. But man, did they show up. The Eagles were three of five on third downs in the first half, but just two of nine on third downs in the second half. Philly gained 201 yards of offense in the first half but wound up losing one yard in the entire second half. So they had 201 yards at halftime and finished the game with only 200. That’s good defense in the second half. After being dominated in the first half, Tampa Bay showed a lot of heart and fight in this one and outscored the Eagles 19-7 in the second half. It just wasn’t enough. After completing 15 of 16 passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns in the first half, Eagles quarterback Jaylen Herz didn’t complete a single pass in the second half. He was 0 of eight in the second half and was sacked twice by beta. Beya now leads the team in sacks with two. And it’s always good to see big beta get to the quarterback. You know, a lot was said on social media about the day that Eagles young upand cominging quarterback Quinan Mitchell had on Sunday and helping to slow down Tampa Bay’s passing attack. And outside of the times that he wasn’t clearly grabbing and holding Bucks receivers or making contact with them before the ball arrived, Mitchell did a good job. But so did Tampa Bay’s quarterbacks. Per Pro Football Focus, Zia McCollum was targeted twice and allowed one catch for three yards. Jaml Dean was targeted once and allowed one catch for seven yards. Rookie Jacob Parish, who’s been phenomenal to start this season, was targeted three times, allowed two catches for zero yards, and he had a pass breakup. Rookie Benjamin Morrison was targeted four times, allowed just one catch for nine yards, and had a pass breakup. Devonte Smith and AJ Brown were barely heard of on Sunday as a result of Tampa Bay’s cornerback shutting down the Eagles receivers. Keep an eye on newly acquired defensive tackle Elijah Simmons. He’s a load at 6 foot1, 334 pounds. With Greg Gaines likely out this week at Seattle and maybe a little bit more time with the petrol injury, Simmons will get more playing time. That’s a good thing. He got better as this game went on and had a nice tackle for loss near the end of the game on Saquon Barkley. The Bucks now have two promising Elijah’s on defense, Elijah Roberts and Elijah Simmons. Let’s switch to the offensive side of the ball. Amecha Ibuka just had his first 100yard game in the NFL and caught another touchdown on Sunday. This one covering 77 yards. Ibuka showed tremendous concentration as Baker Mayfield rifled a pass between two Eagles defenders to the Buck’s first round pick who is now on pace to catch 17 touchdowns this season and finished with 76 catches for,200 yards during his rookie season. He is the front runner for offensive rookie of the year and deservedly so. Bucky Irving also got into the act of catching 70-yard touchdown passes from Baker Mayfield, hauling in a career-long 72 yard reception for a score in the second half. Irving also had his first 100yard receiving day of his career. We haven’t seen the best of Bucky Irving, the running back, yet this year. He’s only averaging 3.3 yards per carry and hasn’t scored a rushing touchdown yet. But I think that’s mostly due to the reshuffled offensive line in front of him. So better days are ahead now that Tristan Worfs is back at left tackle, Ben Bredesen’s back at left guard and Graham Barton’s back at center and those guys get some continuity together. I think we’ll see more production on the ground from Bucky Irving. Oh, the return of Luke Geti at right tackle will also help as well. However, Bucky Irving, the receiver, is off to a great start. Through four games, he already has 19 catches for 193 yards and two touchdowns. Folks, he had 47 receptions for 392 yards and no scores last year. So, Irving is on pace to catch 80 passes for 820 yards this year. That’s double his receiving production from a year ago, along with a projected eight touchdowns. Wow, Bucky Irving is something, even if he’s not running the ball. So, that’s it for your dose of rainbows and sunshine and unicorns, Bucks fans. But I do have one more bit of Peter positivity for you that’s going to put a smile on your face. Look at me. I’m already smiling. Tampa Bay is bringing in two punters to work out on Tuesday per Fox Sports’s Greg Almond to challenge the guy with the painfully slow windup. you know, the guy that already has had two block blocked punts this year. Might want to also look at maybe a new long snapper cuz he was the culprit in that block punt on Sunday against the Eagles as well. Hopefully, this team gets some positive news on the injury front with all of the banged up Buccaneer. Stay tuned to peterreport.com for the latest injury reports. Scott Reynolds has your weekly dose of Pewter Positivity from the Bucs’ Week 4 loss vs. the Eagles. Let’s pretend the game started at halftime, shall we? PLENTY of positives to talk about from the second half, including a perfect day from Chase McLaughlin, a pair of 70-yard TD catches from Emeka Egbuka and Bucky Irving, and stellar play by the Bucs defense, particularly the cornerbacks. Absolutely LOVE this fresh content. 👍👏
LOL at the emoji too 😂😂😂😂
when the Eagles win, they leave every team thinking they can be Super Bowl contenders. It's the funniest thing ever.
felt like the 1st KC game back in 2020, hopefully we see them again in the playoffs and we put belt to ass
The looks on the guys faces after our loss , I don’t think we’re losing a game for a long time . ❤
Definitely need these vids after a loss. Especially after a loss that could’ve EASILY been a win 😒
Eagles fan here with respect. First, I'm keenly aware that if this game were just a little longer, you guys might well have gotten the win. Second, I'm a huge fan of Coach Bowles, so props to him; and I haven't forgotten your team had beaten us 6 of the previous 7 games, so props to them too. The reason I stopped in here: this post is more positive – by far – than my usual podcasters. Listening to my regular guys, you would be forgiven for thinking the Eagles lost. I got tired of listening to it. Only in Philly. Good luck with the rest of your season.
Well, we had to lose eventually and there was never really much hope in winning. But the dagger in the heart is knowing that if not for a few mistakes we had a good shot at winning. Let's hope we can dispatch the Seahawks and not fall into a losing slump.
Hey Scott…I was so happy that I got Simmon's autograph…when he arrived..OMG he is massive…
I just want to see a game where we are playing to our potential. I’m being patient, it may not be until the Saints game but if we stay at this pace of injuries it may never happen.
Yes
If we don't get healthy we are doomed.
We got this!
The Bucs will be fine, IF
Something proactive is done regarding special teams.
Love my Bucs Family
That tough loss with just a few minor mistakes in the beginning. He's going to be the fuel to feed the drive for the rest of the season. You wait and see
refs have no excuses
Go Bucs!!!
I really appreciate the positive response. It makes a loss a lot better. Thank you
We'll be fine. Realistically, even if we go on the annual 4 game skid, we can still come out 11-6.
Go Bucs
Dude is full of underhanded NEGATIVE comments
