Blue Jays EVEN series🚨 A-Rod, Big Papi & Derek Jeter react to Game 4, Scherzer’s CLUTCH game & more
Hey, welcome to the MLB on FS1 postgame show presented by Strauss Work where we are all tied up. Two games a piece in this best of seven. So, it’s a best of three right now. The road team winning every time and the Blue Jays are 5-0 this year in Seattle. Welcome to the postgame. Lot to do with Derek Jeter, David Ortiz, Alex Rodriguez, and I’m Kevin Burkart. We’ll get to Dantro Willis in just a moment. Max Cer, 41 years old. Turn back the clock, A-Rod. That’s right. I mean, what a performance. I mean, the one thing is this guy’s done it before. He’s a warrior. We talked a little bit in the pregame, but he did it in a beautiful way. He did it with locating his fast ball, not 100, but mid9s breaking ball, slider, cutter, change up, change velocity on that thing. He had more chase in that curve ball than he’s had his entire career. I don’t know what else to say. It was beautiful. The the longest I know Max Sherer is he’s represent an ace tonight. a a a future Hall of Famer, a guy who who basically his body language from the very beginning since he was sitting in the dugout. Knowing this guy and facing this guy for a long time, his body language today, Captain was something he was expected what he did tonight based on his body language and when the manager tried to take him out of the game. Wow. Yeah. He you know he want he wants to be out there. He wants to pitch. He likes these moments. I don’t think he really cares about what success he’s had in the past or the nonsuccess he’s had for years, but he he is a guy that you lean on and you know that the situation is not going to overwhelm him, right? Maybe his stuff won’t be there, but the situation is not going to overwhelm him. But today, tonight, he had his stuff. He was spotting his fast ball. He was throwing harder as you said. He was keeping him off balance. You couldn’t have asked for anything more. You know, it’s amazing. It feels like right time to go to the D train and the train station. Dantro Will is joining us now and train. This was masterful by Sherer. And there’s so many things to talk about here. Let’s start with the velocity. He was throwing harder tonight than he did all year by a long shot. Well, you know, Matt Matt’s aged backwards like Benjamin Button. And it was truly remarkable to see this performance and they needed him to age backwards. His velocity was anywhere from 94 to 96 at the top of the zone, which opened up that sequence of that nasty curve ball. This is a pitch that is his fourth best pitch, but once he got found at a release point, the sequencing was there all day long. The fast ball at the top of the zone was the key pitch all day long as far as getting the hitter quickly and all of a sudden changing the eye level down. Very important. Also, I love what David Ortiz said, the swagger was there. It was almost like it was Detroit Mad Max. And this is my part. I know him as a teammate. He said, “Haven’t you seen my movies? This is what I do, baby.” In the big spots, the fast ball command down and all of a sudden the big swing and miss and showing that emotion. He understood the assignment. He knew this was a big start for himself. And now they tied the series 2-2. I don’t know. I think my Toronto trick is starting to look good again, boys. Uh there’s so much there. Let’s start with the uh let’s start with this strikeouts. Max Sher’s got a lot of them in playoff history, you see where he is on that board. He’s creeping up the list 176, fifth all time. And what was impressive tonight, Derek, he all year, the curveball that Dantrell talked about all year, he had eight total strikeouts on his curveball, cuz it’s not his go-to pitch. He had four strikeouts on that curveball tonight. How about Dantrell Wayne Willis over there with the breakdown? Yeah, you should have never told me the middle name, Dantrell. But no, he did he did the breakdown and and you know what the great thing is it doesn’t make a difference when you get to the postseason what’s worked for you in the past. The great thing about Max, he’s a veteran pitcher. He understands what’s working for him on a particular night that was working for him and he made the adjustment. This is a game of adjustments, right? From every time you see a pitcher from from pitch to pitch, a bat to a bat, you have to make adjustments. He made the adjustments. Seattle Mariners offense didn’t. You know what’s beautiful about him is when you talk about preparation and adjustments, Derek, you’re talking about that starts the night before watching Shane Bieber, watching spin, watching him put this Mariner off in a rocking chair. And it’s so much fun to watch to watch the starting pitchers come back in the game, get deep into the game, and to do it not by overwhelming you with speed, but being able to tease hitters in the fringes, in the strike zone, out of the strike zone, up, down, east, west, poppy, masterpiece. Hey, you you hit home. I tell you what though, my only concern before this outing was getting to know that he haven’t faced batter for three weeks. But man, I can’t wait to talk to him and find out why he’s did those three weeks because the mass search the mass cher excuse me that we saw out there tonight. He seemed like he haven’t lost his rhythm at all. I mean this guy was performing at this higher level like that’s the mass cher that we know that get into the mouth and get the job done. He was feisty. You called him a bulldog in the preseason. He was fight all kinds of feisty barking his manager back in the you want to call him. And meanwhile, while Mad Max was doing that, Vlatty was hitting another home run. He’s got like 75 of them in this postseason. Actually, five, but you get the idea. He’s with Ken Rosenthal now. Thanks, Kevin. Vlad, you hit your fifth home run of the postseason tonight. Big offensive night, but let’s talk about Max Scherzer. How would you describe what you saw from him tonight? Uh, that’s him, you know, that’s Max Hall of Fame. Uh, he compete every time. uh he came uh and give all the energy and he gave it all in the on the in the field. Now what happened when Schneider came out to talk to him with two outs in the fifth? Uh they asked him is he he’s okay he say yes you know and everybody go back to to his place you know when uh a hall of fame like this told you he’s good you are to leave it live in the game and he show he’s good. series is tied two to two. No matter what happens tomorrow, we’re going back to tomorrow to Toronto. Vlad, how much better do you feel about your chances than you did two days ago? I mean, uh we play like I say always, I I believe in God and I believe in this team, you know, and uh when you play one day at a time, one about a time, uh something something big can happen. And to us, it’s like we came here and try to try to win the series, you know. And uh to us we got two and tomorrow we’re going to find a way to win the the next one. Vlad, thanks a lot Kevin. Back to you. All right, Kenny. Appreciate that, Vlad. Thanks. All right, this is this is so great. We saw the we saw as you look at Vlad goes this offense goes in their wins. He crushes. He leads away as Poppy talked about. We’ll get to that in a second. But we saw the video of of Sherzer bark and John Snder back in the dugout. And I love that. He’s like, “No, he came out. He’s okay. I go back to your place.” You think that’s really what’s happened? I tell you what, man. Matt Sher is a bulldog, man. I mean, his presence, what he bring to this organization and being a veteran, his leadership, man. Look at that right there. I mean, when when if I was watching this and I was getting goos eyes, look, I told you. Look, he wanted to fight the shark tonight. That’s the go back to your place. It’s five. We’re good. Hey, I don’t want no part of you. And Derek and Poppy, you in your early days, we’ve been in a lot of meetings like that. And Joe Tory would always say, I asked a question to the pitcher, but I listened to Pada, the catcher, cuz he’s going to lie to me and he’s going to tell me the truth because he’s actually receiving it. But when you see that, and you see that from great pitchers, I’m sure you had Shillin and Pedro. We had Rocket and Msina and Pettit. When you see a guy wanting to compete, man, what that does to a team is incredibly inspiring. And that’s what he did tonight. This starter had the power to get our moyo back. Like you say, “Ara, we play with guys that their body language, their attitude motivate us to just be behind and have their back.” I remember those days when Kurt Sheiling got that surgery on his ankle and we I I was looking at I was like, “Is this really happening?” When that guy went out there, we went like, “Oh, that’s a terrible example.” I know, but you brought that up. No, no, but I’m going to give you a better example. I’m going to give you a better example, Poppy. Remember at old Yankee Stadium when you were on deck and I was at third base and my body language was and you say, “Come on now, pick up that body language.” Th all those little things really matter because humans are playing the game and it’s a very very difficult game. So body language, the way you carry yourself is very very important. Toronto’s back in this series. Like Anthony Masterson, our senior executive of MLB research at Fox said, two Sai Young award winners pitching like Sai Young award winners. Bieber and Sherzer pitched exactly how they did when they won the Sai Young. It’s the reason why it’s 2-2. And I don’t want to get into momentum and all that, but that’s the reason why they’re here. Derek Sai Young showed up in that. The other thing about you said it earlier, Pompy, experience in October matters. Oh yeah. Both Kirby and Castillo, brilliant young pitchers, didn’t show up in a big way. The veterans Bieber and Sherzer show up. I just want to uh state one thing. Derek, you really elevated Tones, who’s our who’s our our backbone of this show, but he was at a time called Statman. Yeah. Well, you know, and now he’s the senior director of research, which is what he is. I I told him, give me your title. That’s what he gave me. It’s fantastic. Promotion time. Let’s go back. What’s Assess Max? We showed him, of course, in that key moment, the fire want to stay in the game. How about before the game? I mean, this again, we called Bulldog during the game. We talked he likes to swim with sharks. Before the game, he was going crazy. Look at this. Lacked in, man. Let’s go. Lacked in. He won. He won this game, guys. He shooter. He won this game. Look at that. Family, get out of the way, man. John Wayne. That’s amazing. That’s amazing. Left or right? Yeah. Oh, that’s good because I’m lefty. I thought it was like shooter McGavin. Shooter and whatever works. George Springer works for this Blue Jays offense and he’s with Tom Verduchi. Thanks KB. Well, George, you get the series back to Toronto. Two nights with 21 runs, 29 hits. What does the momentum feel like on your side when you play this version of fast break baseball? Um, I mean, it’s just kind of who we are as a team, you know, get get the next guy up to the plate, you know, do anything that you can do, um, to pass the baton on to the next guy. So, um, you know, good quality of bass to last a couple days, but it’s on to tomorrow. George, you had one of the better seats to see Max Scherzer’s probably most entertaining confrontations of the night. That was with his manager, John Schneider. Tell me what you made of that scene and more importantly, the game that he delivered. Yeah, I mean, you know, he was huge for us today. um he was who he is. Um you kind of stay away from him, you know. You you don’t really want to get in Max’s way, so you you kind of just let Max be Max. And it was entertaining for sure. George, thank you. We’ll see you in Toronto. All right, back to you, Kitty. All right, Tom. George, I appreciate that. It’s so great what Max Sh was able to do tonight. He’s done it so many times in his career. But I want to go back to something that we’ve talked on this show about winning baseball. Derek. All right. Andre Simenez had a great interview last night. just came on, hit that home run and talked Tom Brady. He said, “I was just, you know, basically I thought about bunning to move the run over. Then I was just trying to hit the ball at the right side and he hit it out.” So today he did both. He hit a home run again and then he hit a key bunt in another rally in the fourth inning. He showed you the whole versatile way of winning baseball. That’s how you win. It brings me back to 1998. We’re in the World Series. Scott Brochious was the World Series most valuable player. He hit two big home runs, but in the clinching game, he had to Mr. He asked him to lay down a bunt and move a runner over. That’s how you win. It doesn’t make a difference what you’ve done. You do what the situation calls for. And that’s what he did. And I’m pretty sure it was almost the same situation. You hit the home run again. It was trying to move a guy over, you get rewarded for trying to do the right thing. You know, when you think about the team, it’s so much easier to get over the hump. You know, Kevin, for so many years, I try to do it all myself. Do it all myself. Be hero, long ball, home run. I was an absolute joke. And finally in 09 I gave in and I said you know what it’s about we not about I and the game became so much easier. It flows better. But the other part fellas that it does when John Schneider the manager of the Blue Jays calls twice for a bunt. What it signals to the other eight players is you have to value 90 ft. And what it tells you is all you need is to think small and big things happen. Himenez twice a bunt. Beautiful. M I can agree no more than than what I have. You say the right thing, you get rewarded for doing the right thing. This kid right here quietly, he’s having a great postseason, but if you look at his swing and the thing that he trying to do, he don’t try to overdo things. He don’t he don’t go for those big thing. They just happen because he quiet his swing. He short his swing and then he just go through the motion. He watch this swing right here. Do you tell me that he was trying? Watch this. Do you think he was trying to hit a horn or No, he was trying to pull the ball in play. And this is this is the reward that happened when you try to just stay compact, short to the ball and not try to overdo things. That’s the problem that a lot of player have during this playoff. They try to overdo things and it just get harder. Kevin, and you know the thing is that’s the approach of their whole team. The whole team has the same approach. No matter how good Vlad’s playing playing in this postseason and all the home runs he’s hitting, he’s not a home run hitter. He’s a great hitter who hits a lot of home runs. He’s not up there swinging, you know, like it’s 3 0 every time. Go ahead. I’m sorry. No, he puts the ball in play and as a result of that, he’s strong, right? He’s powerful. He has a great swing. He’s going to hit home runs, but he’s not sitting there trying to hit home runs. He’s trying to put a good swing on. It’s a beautiful thing that, you know, the rest of baseball is getting to see. This style of baseball is not old, is the right way to play and is winning baseball. And going back to our Mr. Statman, Anthony just gave me a great stat about Vlad. To your point, Cap, about how balanced they are. 15 hits for Vlad, five to left, five to right, five to center. Five home runs, two to left, two to center, one to right. I mean, that’s what you call that is fuego. That’s really, really good. and on the the closure on Jimenez. Blue Jays had the most sack bunts of anybody in the American League. So moving the runner, winning baseball. Oh, there you go. It’s all working. They’re back in this series in a big way as it’s all tied to two. Brand new series. Now, how was Max Scherzer tonight? Pretty great. Look at this. Five and two/3 innings for him. Just three hits, a struck out five. That curveball was magnificent. And most importantly, the Blue Jays get a win. We’re all tied to two. Welcome back to the postgame show. And why don’t we go talk to the man of the hour right now. It is Max Sherzer as we shoot over to Seattle. And Max, great to see you. It’s Kevin Burkart and the Fox guys. And you know, listen, we’ve worked next to you. We’ve talked to you after World Championships, after so many of these postseason starts. Emotionally, where did tonight rank compared to all these other great big games that you’ve pitched in the playoffs? Uh it’s up there with all of them. Uh you know, when you go out there and compete, you’re competing at your fullest. Uh these are must-wins situations. You lay it all on the line. you’re going against some of the best uh hitters in the world. Uh it’s kind of just you versus them and uh you just want to go out there and compete against them and uh go out there and get a win. Hey Max, Alex Rodriguez here. Congrats in the big big game. That was fun to watch. That was an absolute masterclass tonight. Did you have a plan coming into the game to use your curveball as much as you did? Kevin Burkart here had a great stat that you had four strikeouts on your curveball and you had eight all year or was that a feel thing in game? Uh it was a feel thing. Uh knew coming in today, you know, I hadn’t pitched in a while. Uh knew I was going to be kind of rusty. You know, there in the first I have two walks, but uh was able to make a big pitch against Palano to get a double play. I felt like that kind of helped settle me into the game, like get me into the rhythm of the game. Uh and then our offense, you know, got a bunch of runs. You know, we were able to get a big lead on them and allowed me to get a little bit more aggressive. You know, I felt like my fastball command wasn’t quite as great. Uh you know, I’d like to be a little bit better at that, but was able to make big pitches when I needed to. And uh when you talk about that curveball, I just had a good feel for it tonight. Uh you know, just was able to really step on it and rip it and got like you said some big strikeouts and some big situations on it. Hey Max, big papy right here. Congratulation man. I can go so many way asking you question. I call baseball an everyday sport and my concern before you outing today was that you haven’t pitched in a while but watching your body language before the game today I went like oh oh what was your preparation like having not having been pitching that long and have the unbelievable performance tonight? Um, I actually kind of, you know, thought back to some previous, uh, times where I’ve been coming off the IL and I’ve actually had some good starts coming off the IL, uh, immediately. So, I know I knew if as long as my arm was good, I get my get going in the rhythm of game, I I could execute pitches and that’s what it was about coming out here and trying to execute, you know, all the pitches and to all all the locations. And, uh, as the game went on, I just felt like I got better and better with that. Max, what’s up, Mr. Derek? I wanted to, first of all, great job. But I I know just from playing against you all those years, you’re the type of pitcher that that really feeds off your emotions. So, I’m gonna ask the question I think everyone wants to know. Talk to me about the extended conversation you had with the manager when he came out to the mound. Yeah. Um, you know, it was a it was a two-out situation. I just to check the board. I think I was at 69 or 70 pitches. My arm felt great. um you know two outs and Randy was coming up and in my head I was going through you know kind of in my sequence of how I wanted to pitch Randy uh you know thinking through the situation and uh all of a sudden I see uh Schneid’s coming out and it kind of caught me off guard and you know that’s just where one of those moments where I know I wanted the ball. I I knew the situation of the game I wanted the ball and I basically told him that in a little bit different language. I love it. I absolutely love it. Hey Max Alex here. One more after coming out 02. This is such a great offense. You guys have been so consistent. How confident do you feel in game three and obviously going into game four feels different now, but coming to Seattle, what was the feeling in that clubhouse? Uh really kind of the same. I don’t want to get too high or get too low. Yeah. When you lose, you know, two games at home, you’re down 02. You know, it’s a crappy feeling. Uh but on this team, we have been so resilient. We’ve come back so many different times and we’re an unbelievable team. our clubhouse. It’s everybody within that clubhouse. Uh pulling on the same rope in the same direction. We believe in each other all the way through. And so, uh coming in here to Seattle, uh you we’ve had two good ball games. You our offense has done a great job. Uh pitching’s done great as well. So, we’ve kind of played our game. Uh but I also know this is three games, you know, basically three games left. Uh it’s going to take a heck of an effort uh to win two more. You know, Max, just to get did want to tell you, talked to Vlad. Vlad talked to Ken Rosenthal after the game about your Mau meeting and he was very calm and he said no uh manager was just asking if everybody’s okay and he said no just go back to your place. So that’s uh that’s how Vlad described that uh that little mitty confrontation if you will but maybe you can give uh the viewers here a little bit insight about Vlad because the reality is the Blue Jays don’t get a ton of run until the playoffs now in America and seeing him every day Vladimir Gro Jr. what blows your mind? um his IQ. Uh he he’s really playing uh great ball, but he’s doing it with his his head. He he’s really making smart decisions uh and where how he attacks pitchers. That’s obviously everybody’s going to look at the offense, but for me, it’s how he’s been playing defensively, how he runs the bases. He does a lot of great things uh outside of just hitting. Uh and to me, that’s a sign of greatness is when you you’re a total package type player. And so, uh you know, since I’ve been here, uh he’s gotten smarter throughout the year. He’s done so many things uh and made so many great plays for us throughout the year that makes you go wow. So uh we all know his bat. We all know he can do that. But he’s much more than that. He’s a complete player and that’s what makes him special. Hey Max, on a serious note right here, don’t you think the color of your eyes was a distraction for the Mariners batter because it was for you and A-R? Yeah, I always like having fun with it. I like having fun with it. Uh you know, the blue and the brown. It’s so much fun to have fun with everybody with it. Uh, so yeah, I always hope it it comes out to my advantage. Hey, honestly, man, when you going to retire and come and join us? I’m having too much fun. This is uh you get to go out there and pitch in this environment. Uh, this is what you play the game for. It’s so much fun to be in these type of situations. So, uh, for me, I just enjoy competing too much. Hey, I love you though. And pitching to they get you with a wheelchair out of the field. Forget it. Yeah, I still feel pretty good. My body feels great, so everything’s good. So I I still got your shirt with the two different colored eyes on it. I thought that was pretty good. So it’s still in my closet. I love it. Love it. Love it. Love you, brother. Have a great time. Congratulations. Great job, Max. Max Sher joining us. Boy, we’ve talked to How many times have we talked to him after big playoff starts that he’s had and that was just it was just so cool, you know, doing what he’s doing, still doing it at that age and dominating. And gosh, I go back to the pregame and we’re being realistic about the fact that he hasn’t pitched in three weeks and you’re wondering what he’s going to be able to give or or what the leash would be from John Schneider. And Alex, you said, “Hey, I would take three innings, four I’d jump for joy in a heartbeat just because he hasn’t pissed so long.” He gives you five and two/3. It’s incredible. And you know, Cap, you were talking about controlling emotions and the moment not getting too big. When you take that element out of it, then it’s just a matter of health, executing pitches, but the moment is not going to be too big. This is an oxymoron here. But he has a slow heartbeat. Regardless how he looks out there, he has an opport he had he knows how to get that heartbeat down, make pitches, and he enjoys the moment. And when he talks about how good he feels and how much fun he’s having, obviously when you pitch like that, it’s easy to have fun. Kevin, you say it all. This guy we are interviewing him so many time in this situation and I can never stop talking about playoff experience guys. Your heart rate go 100 miles an hour in this situation playoff light get brighter. The baseball gets smaller. Not many people know how to control their motion in this situation. He is one of the greatest for a reason. He know how to get it done and he’s been doing it for a long time. You know, his first playoff appearance was against us in 2011. He went six innings and shut us out. So, his performance and the results may be a surp Yeah. May may be a surprise to a lot of people, but I guarantee it wasn’t a surprise to him, right? Because he has a lot of confidence in his ability when he’s on the mound. And notice what he was double clicking on. He was no when they asked him about Vlad, he talked about, you know, feel, he talked about getting smarter, defense, base running, all the little things to win games, and it’s nice to hear that. So, we got Vlad’s description of the mound confrontation, which seemed very calm. Then Max told us that uh, you know, he seemed calm, but maybe used a few choice words. Why don’t we hear from the manager, John Schneider, about his view of that confrontation and trying to take Max Sher out in the sixth? I just said, well, he started the conversation with, “I’m good.” And I said, “Are you sure?” And he I can’t really, you could probably read lips, but um I told him to execute. I’m leaving you in. I’m leaving you in to execute. Um and he did. I think uh I think he had no choice. That might have been like a WWE brawl if John tried to take him out at that point, you know. And it’s interesting when you look at this Shane Beer and and Max Sherzer, both guys who coming back for big injuries. Max was out for a good portion of this year, right? Had a good stretch and then had a rough September and as you said, didn’t pitch in three weeks. Shane Bieber coming back from Tommy John for nearly two years and pitched an absolute gem the night before. Mariners’s offense, where’s it gone? It’s completely disappeared. And they have five hits, three of them by Josh Naylor tonight. So, they go home where they’re comfortable and the offense is toast, Derek. That’s something they got to figure out for game five. Yeah, we talked about it earlier. We talked about Castillo on the mound, but you got to offensively you have to be able to score some runs. You’re not going to shut out the Blue Jays offense. They’re just too deep. They’re too talented. They make too much contact. They’re able to put together big innings. Seattle’s offense relies a lot heavily on home runs. They score more than 50% of their runs on home runs. And the issue is if you don’t string together at bats, they’re solo home runs. Solo home runs are not going to beat the Toronto Blue Jays. Two-run home runs aren’t going to beat. You got to be able to score in bulk. And u you know, they can’t change who they are. This is who they are. It’s what’s got them to this point. Sure. But they need to get a few guys rolling to keep up with Toronto. Seems like it’s everybody’s sleeping on the line. You know, I mean, you need to have that one person who create the violence, that one person that had to stay hot so the rest of the line follow you. I mean, if you look at this Blue Jay lineup, you have a guy like Bly taking the lead. Everybody just follow him. What happened with the Mariners all year round, you have guy like K Riley, you got guy, you have guy like Julio performing at the highest level offensively, they’re not quite there yet. They need to go back to the old days where they carry that offense so the rest of the lineup can follow their step. Well, they are three outcome lineup, right? It is either the strikeout, the walk, or the home run. And you looked at the Blue Jays yesterday, they had 18 hits. Eight people checked in. Six of them had multi-hit games. The Mariners are not built for that. They’re not going to have 18 games. They’re probably going to have more like 18 strikeouts. So, what do they have to do? They have to think small. They have to pass the baton. They have to choke up and make s and and when you look at the contrast of both teams, the home run, the ball, the double, two beautiful bunts. And you have to respect 90 ft, but you have to take one one pitch at a time and one base at a time. But I had a question for the two of you. Randy Rosarena, who haven’t have a really good playoff as a lead off hitter. What y’all think about? Well, like I said, I mean, first of all, Seattle Mariners have an unbelievable season. They’re in the ALCS. Let’s not take that away from them. And then they won the first two games in Toronto, too. It’s just sitting 2-2. But this is who they are, right? This is the team. you’re not going to change the lineups now. I mean, a Rosarena, you know, he he’s been big time in the postseason, so maybe he’s a guy that just get a hit there and then he just starts rolling. So, they just need to get hot. I always used to say it during my career, the best teams make it to the postseason and the hottest team wins. You have to get hot because every team is talented when you get to this captain. That’s Captain Tuck. And we know this, right? Like it it’s hard to get hot when you’re home run hunting. The way to get hot is by a walk, is by a little bunt, is by hitting the ball the other way, is by a little lob shot. I mean, sometimes luck makes the self-esteem. It does wonders for you. But if you’re just swinging for the downs and downs and downs, guess what? That comes with a lot of empty calories. Yeah. Seven different Blue Jays had hits tonight. And Vlad Grow Jr. is on his way to having an absolutely historic postseason.
The Toronto Blue Jays evened the series against the Mariners in Seattle. A-Rod, Big Papi & Derek Jeter reacted to everything about Game 4 including Vladimir Guerrero Jr. & Scherzer’s CLUTCH game.

No offense but Big Papi is the most flexible interviewer in sports. He can ask a variety of questions that can be funny or serious. It is always related to the topic and is what people like to ask themselves.
Max went to the curve because he didn’t have the feel for his changeup not surprising given the three week layoff
I love these guys..they have so much fun together. Keep it up guys. South American boy here. Go Jays GO !
Wow, the ALCS is a slugfest! I like it!
Go Blue Jays!!
Love this panel 👌
This is the best postgame sports content I've ever watched. Wow, I love this, you guys at Fox really hit a homerun with this cast. LFG
Like the true American pastime it is…changing your opinion to have the masses agree with you. That's freedom baby. I wish you well and God bless 🇺🇲
I love listening to these 3 HOF multi world series winners pick apart the games afterward. Great insights.
I love this panel. Great job guys!
PaPi, eat Turkey 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Vlad is a KaKa head😮😮😮😮😮😮
Go jays from germany
His heterochromia makes him look even more terrifying!!! 😂
Vlad believe IN GOD, really, I guess GID is a BlueJay fan ya kAkA head😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Go Jays!
"Wow, your eyes are different colors!"
Up the jays! 🐦 🇨🇦
Been a fan since my ex girlfriend from Toronto took me to a Roger’s game back in 2014 🇬🇧 🏴
JAYS ALL THE WAY
Best recap. Thanks guys.
Let’s Go Blue Jays !
Huge compliment from Scherzer on Vladdy, he’s not wrong Vladdy increasingly showing his game intelligence
Mad Max, what do you say about this guy. The ultimate professional and competitor. Just having him in the clubhouse was huge for the Jays this season. Great game.
LETS GO BLUE JAYS

If anyone wants to know why hitters swing at junk in the dirt, you gotta look at those pitches from Max at the beginning.
Absolutely perfect tunneling. The ball was halfway to home before they separate. No wonder the Mariners couldn't do anything with it.
OFFICIALLY NO LONGER A SEATTLE MARINERS FAN. WE'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS KIND OF BS FOR OVER 38 YEARS. A TRULY SICK FRANCHISE.
Max thanks for being the best player in the MLBA. You are one of the greatest players of all time. You are a class act, and I hope you come back next year with Toronto. Fans love you
A bit off topic. I just saw the Red Sox tribute to Jeter yesterday for his last game at Fenway. What an incredible display of RE2PECT.
Just amazing.
He has 2 different color eyes or did a contact fall.out😅
The first 4 batters in the Mariners' lineup went hitless. That says it all.
this guy really has blue and brown eye.. crazy
These guys are better now that the Yankees are out
We always complained about the Jays in the past leaving a lot of runners on base. We were always saying that to win you need to play more like the national league because of the pitchers having to hit, homeruns win games some of the time but small ball wins all the time because it maximizes your chances to score every game. This is Ty Cobb baseball, bunts, placing the ball for a base hit, moving the runners and always taking the walk when possible…
This crew is great, great analysis
Visiting Montreal this weekend and caught the game in a bar in the old port, people were going nuts here. Go Jays!!!! ❤🇨🇦🐦⚾️
My tigers should've reunited bac with "Madd Maxx"….. we sure could've used his stuff this postseason. Him and Verlander…. They both would hav been huge for us just like the good Ol dayz!!!
Bro if I’m Big Papi, I’m spending every second bringing up 2004 in front of Jeter and Arod 😭
🇨🇦 🇨🇦 🇨🇦❤❤❤ 🇨🇦 🇨🇦 🇨🇦❤❤❤
LFG JAYS‼️
Bad thing about long series is they are draining for the players…. Dodgers win today and will probably have 4 days rest to and prepare for World Series…
Jays will win world series this year. This team has SCRAP!
I mean honestly so cool seeing all the comments from around the world! Go jays baby
He couldn't do that for the Mets in post season tho❗
Fellas you guys did not mention of Vladdy in the second innings yelling at Max that he was tipping his pitch because Rodriguez on 1B was attempting to relay his pitches. Great job Vladdy!👊🏻
Soon as Mad Max sent the jays manager back to the dugout Seattle an fans knew it was over 😂😭
Love from Toronto, Go Jays Go lol.
