This will DESTROY The Golden State Warriors…

This could destroy the Golden State Warriors before the season even has a chance to get started. We said that health was going to be the number one defining factor for the upcoming season. And just two days away from the season opener, the Warriors already running into some major health issues. What’s going on everybody? I’m Houston Mo. You’re watching Warriors Digest. And you guys know me after you’ve been watching uh on the channel the past couple of months prepping for this season. I’m a positive, optimistic guy. I look forward to this season and I’ve been very excited about this team, especially the additions that we made over the last couple of months. But I will say this stuff scares me. Specifically, the injury right now to Moses Moody, the calf injury that is going to keep him out of the season opener in two nights against the Los Angeles Lakers. I expected him to be the starting shooting guard. All of a sudden, he’s out. Seth Curry’s waved. Obviously, we can’t sign him for another month or so. So, now becomes this question of the Anthony Melton’s out too. his rehab is not fully done. Who’s going to start in that shooting guard position? Brandon Pajki, are we going to be crazy and start the rookie Will Richard? He’s certainly had a fantastic preseason. We will talk about all of that today right here on the channel. But before we do, want to remind you guys to hit that subscribe button. Around twothirds of you guys that watch these videos, excuse me, are not subscribed. Folks, we are just 48 hours away from the home, sorry, not the home opener, the season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers, October 21st. Literally two days away from uh from tonight uh genuinely at this time uh of the night on Tuesday night, it will be the beginning of this season that we have been waiting for for so very long. We have a lot of updates today to get through before uh this beginning of this season that has been so highly anticipated. So many question marks up in the air still. You thought after all these signings happened, it was sort of like, okay, the groundwork has been laid. Now we have the the basis for the team. We can have a clear understanding and expectation of what this team is going to do. But now we’re running into some injury issues that I don’t think will be the end of the world. I do think it’ll be okay. Moses Moody will come back healthy when he does. Uh Jimmy Butler, Jonathan Kaminga, those guys banged up a little bit. But let’s just hop into this before we uh break down everything uh revolving around uh not only the last preseason game but also Tuesday night’s uh season tip off against the Los Angeles Lakers. So before we get into all that, I saw this on Twitter on this day in 2018. Jonas Jereco with the game-winning tip in over his former team. And um this just gets me so excited for moments like this. We’ve got some super fun additions to the team this season. Uh, and I’m just excited for nights like this where I get to hop onto the channel and create content over. Hopefully, we have some crazy plays like this uh throughout the season. But I just bring this up because I want you guys as we’re just two days away from the season to go down below. What is your favorite niche Warriors moment since you’ve been a Warriors fan. Uh, not maybe the big Jordan Pool uh halfcourt heave in the finals or the Steph game Steph Curry game four performance or the game seven with 50. something really random that you specifically remember being so overjoyed when it happened on the court. Where were you watching it? Who were you watching it with? What exactly happened? Let us know in the comments section down below. But this is the biggest point of news uh before Tuesday night. The Warriors still don’t know their starters for opening night and losing Moses Smoody already throws a wrench in Steve Kurs lineup plans. So uh this is huge for a couple of reasons. is we’re at the point in the season where we’re just 2 days away from opening night and all these NBA teams uh at media uh you know speaking to the media coaches, players, uh news outlets are all starting to put out, hey, here is the Los Angeles Lakers starting lineup for opening night. Uh here was the Clippers, here’s the Hornets, here’s the Blazers, blah blah blah. All that type of stuff. Uh the Warriors still haven’t decided who is going to be that starting five. And I was very confident that Steph, Jimmy, Draymond, and Horford would be the starting five. Uh, you know, the start four of the starting five, no doubt. But now it seems like even Al Horford might not be a certified starter after some of the reports that have come out in the last 24 hours as well. So, let’s move forward and see exactly what we can see. Uh, obviously we talked about Moses Moody Calf out for Tuesday. Uh, but Jimmy Butler and Kaminga, both of them scrimmage today. The expectation uh is that both those guys will be ready for opening night. And like I said, I think all of these questionable marks that have put putting on these guys aren’t going to uh ultimately, you know, result in holding these guys out for those games. I expect Jimmy Butler and Jonathan Kaminga both to play. But it is frustrating that Moses Moody will not be available for the home opener. With Moses Moody out, Draymond Green will either play power forward or center in the season opener depending on matchups, combinations, and rotations. Dalton Johnson asked him about how he’s feeling going into year 14. And the answer is something that everybody can learn from. Dre saying, “I take pride in not being selfish. it would be easy in year 14 for Draymond to say, “Hey, I want to play the power forward. That’s what I want to do. That’s where I’m most comfortable.” But he says, “No, I understand the fact that I’m going to have to play a little five this year, and I have to do that. If I have to do that, if I have to sacrifice something that’s maybe not the most fun in the world to understand that it’s going to help out the team, that’s who Draymond Green is. That’s what he’s going to continue to do uh throughout his the rest of his career as he continues to develop uh as a player, both mentally uh and skill-wise. Uh, but I take a lot of pride uh, in not being selfish from Draymond Green. And you got to love that as the leader of this team right behind Steph Curry, understanding that, hey, even in year 14, Draymond’s going to do what he has to do to in order that to ensure that this team wins games. But I am fearful because we’ve had a lot of issues at times when Draymond plays the five of us being able to rebound the basketball. And I have a fear that that’s something that we will run into again if he does end up playing a lot of five throughout the season. Even when Dre and Horford were in there, it still felt like, man, we are struggling to rebound the basketball throughout the preseason. And sure, there’s a lot of younger guys in for other teams who are really scrappy, doing everything they can to rebound the basketball. I think we’ll be a decent rebounding team this year. I don’t think we’ll be amazing. Um, but I’m excited to see how that plays out. I just really hope Al Horford still gets the starting nod. I feel like it’s weird to have Al Horford come off the bench for some reason. So, I I would love for him to start. I’d be a little disappointed if he didn’t, but obviously that shooting guard position is is the biggest concern. And when you look at our first four games, uh you’ve got Warriors, Lakers on Tuesday, the Nuggets, Trailblazers, Grizzlies. This is a sneaky difficult starting four. Um for the Lakers, no LeBron James, right? So it’s going to be uh we the starting five for them finally popped out as well. It’s going to be Luca Donitz, uh, Gabe Vincent, Ruie Hachimra, um, uh, DeAndre Aton, uh, and Austin Reeves. And that is a starting five that is, uh, certainly beatable. I look at that unit and I say this is a team, no LeBron James, even though it’s in Los Angeles to start the year, I feel like the depth and the even though we have a little bit injuries at the two guard position, I think the depth and the uh seasonability out of some of the older guys is going to be enough to propel us to a season opening win. I expect us to go 1 and0 to start the year. Uh the the Nuggets game I’d be worried about because I think the Denver Nuggets have the best roster in the NBA for this upcoming season. Uh maybe you could say that the Oklahoma City Thunder has the best roster after just beating uh the Pacers in game seven in that NBA Finals. They return literally everybody. So they’re going to be fantastic as well. But the Nuggets additions were excellent. So I’d be a little bit bit nervous about this game, but the fact that it is our home opener, I do think we can find a way to scrap that one out as well, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s a loss. And then Trailblazers and Grizzlies. Man, these are going to be two teams all year that you were not going to want to play. young, scrappy, lot of heart teams. Trailblazers especially. One of my predictions is that they would make the playin uh and maybe ultimately win a playing game or two to make the playoffs. They just signed Tomani Kumar and Shaden Sharp to deals today uh for pretty expensive deals, but those are really solid young guys, so I’m not surprised that they signed them to long-term contracts. That’s going to be a sneaky game as well. We play at home and then got to hit the plane immediately to fly to Portland to play them the next day. um up in the Pacific Northwest and then uh like three days later. That’s nice to have two days off there with the weekend with starting on opening night having a little bit more time off. Uh Grizzlies come to town as well. So, two away, two home to start the season and uh it’s going to be fun. I look forward to seeing what the roster uh you know makeup looks like or specifically the rotation because I do think there are so many interesting guys that could get good minutes. I would love to see Will Richard playing during the regular season. I just think he played so well in the preseason and of course, yeah, we’re not playing the typical minutes that we’re playing a lot of these other guys, but I expect Will Richard to get minutes. I would expect Brandon Pajki to be the starter for Tuesday night. I would expect it to be Steph Pods, Jimmy Drain, Alford. That’s my official prediction for who’s going to be starting on Tuesday night, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Buddy He or Will Richard got the starting knot as well. Feels a little uneasy to maybe start the rookie uh in the first game of the year, but Will Richard seems like a season veteran when I was watching him play in the preseason. And I was very much impressed with what he was able to do. And this game the other night as well. Uh Steph Curry, we wanted to get a little bit of work for Steph to be able to see exactly how well he is conditioned. Um yeah, I mean he ended up playing 30 minutes. Shot it very efficiently. 50% from three. Uh finished with the second highest plus minus on the team. 20 20 ball. Uh four rebounds, five assists. Uh and I thought Steph looked good. Steph looked like Steph. I’m not surprised there. the guys off the bench. Trace has been really efficient uh throughout the preseason. Ge Santos knocking down a couple of shots. Buddy Heield, I think, is going to lead the team uh either lead the team or be second in the team in three-point percentage this year. I would also maybe expect Quinton Post to be up there as well, too, because he shot fantastically last season as well. Uh Gary looked pretty solid and the rest of the guys kind of if iffy. Uh but you you’re happy with the production of Will Richard. even though the the efficiency wasn’t necessarily there and the plus minus was at a negative five, I still feel like the way that he approaches the game uh is enticing uh as a fan and I hope we find a way to use him throughout this upcoming season. Draymond and Alford a little bit more efficient in their performances the other night as well. Preseason is done. Cross all that off your list. It is officially time for regular season Warriors basketball. I’m concerned about that that shooting guard position. No Seth Curry for about a month and a half. Moses Moody injury that worries me a little bit. Jimmy Butler, Jonathan Kaminga lingering injuries as well. I do think we will be able to overcome these things, but it is something to watch throughout the season that is going to be a little bit concerning. But right now, clean slate. I’m marking all that off. Moses Moody’s not going to be there. Fine. I might as well not even consider that he’s a part of the organization for the next 24 hours because hey, when we tip things off on Tuesday night, whoever’s in that starting shooter guard position is going to show up, work their butt off, and we’re going to find a way to win that game and be undefeated to start the season. Thanks so much for tuning in, guys. We’ve got a little bit under 48 hours until the uh season opener against the Lakers. Uh it’s going to be a heck of a lot of fun. Make sure to hit that subscribe button. We will catch you guys in the next one. As always, go Dubs. Peace.
