NHL Highlights | Canadiens vs. Devils – November 6, 2025
A lot of young firepower. Going to be a good one. And we’re underway from the Rock. Thanks for joining us on a Thursday night. Matson sends it down. Marstrom plays it back behind the net. Having a little bit of a a cycle game going there. A couple great chances in the slot and just the puck movement. And that’s going to be the difference in this game is which team can get the cycle going. Cody Glass scores. First game back. And the Devils take a one- nothing lead. [Applause] Welcome back, Cody Glass. The glass is half full as he snaps on home on his first shime off the off wing. You see the Devils get it up ice and quickly there’s a turnover. Cody Glass grabs it. Look at that quick release. He wastes no time. Gets it on his stick. A little confusion at the Montreal blue line. They can’t handle it. Glass picks it up. You can decide. Well, what matchup do I want against a certain team? And and sometimes, you know, it’s not the guy that the way he’s playing, it’s just the depth you have. Puck just bounced in off a body and the game is tied. It was slung from the far wall, pingponged in, and the Canadians have tied the game at one. This was delayed. I mean, nobody knew where the puck was. Real fortunate bounce for the Canadians. See the pucks on the wall and just shot toward the net. Bounces up in the air. The Canadians didn’t even know. It’s a delayed reaction. Where is it? Bounces over the head of Marstrom. So, it hits something in front. Oh, it hit Doc right in the chest it looked like and bounced straight in the air over Marstrom and in feathers a pass back up the wall. Can’t be played by Montreal. And then when finally Kappa is able to gather sharp angle shot save rebound that shot deflects just wide off the stick of Old Hughes to his forehand spins to the wall back up for Luke. Slings a shot deflects one. Nason waste no time with the sharp angle shot. Doish makes the save. You know Jake Evans, he’s top five in winning Dzone face off short-handed. So that’s going to be a There comes Jack coast to coast to the save. Rebound to Nation and he couldn’t get it in front of the net. Oh, the puck was in his feet. Had a wideopen net, but Montreal do did a pretty good job. You mentioned Bryce, they won some draws. Bounced over Carier’s head to Glen Denning and a save by Dovish. Back out to center and Gallagher. A lot of zone time by the Devils so far in the first period. Flamco on the outlet pass. Drives to the circle on the back end. centering pass on net with Glen Denning at the doorstep, but Dovich makes the save and keeps it a 1-1 game. Gets it back and is going to be penal. Dovich goes to the bench. Sharp angle shot goes off the side of the net. Zakovski touched up by Nikicohishir and the Montreal Canadians when we return in the first period. And a big faceoff won by Montreal. Hudson straight away. Quick pass saved by Mark off the blast from Suzuki. Mercer back to Luke from the dot. Moves stolen away. And here comes Cawfield on a breakaway. He trying to get back. Caulfield. Shot saved by Marcher. Rebound kicks wide. Caulfield sticks with it. Loses the puck. And you’re right, Bryce. He was flying. Bouncing puck gathered by Brat. Here comes Brat. Hudson gets back. Brat. Save by Dovich. Goes into the corner. Mat gets it back and clears it all the way down. So that’ll do it. Devils over for two. But that was a brief power play. A buck 30 to go in the first period, tied at one. That fouron four was fun. Yeah, both goenders the difference and why it is still tied at one. Both stop breakaways. Cfields was a little cleaner. He had a breakaway all the way from his blue line pretty well to the neutral zone. And Brat with a burst of speed gets a partial breakaway that Dovish had to be sharp on. Fire with a shot that went wide. Glass shot. Dovish makes the save and holds on with 103 to go. Gritsuk with it with 30 seconds to play. Andre Pak got himself in the lane, blocked that shot. He sure did. Did a good job. That one stung, too. Now, I agree with you, Bryce. Is Bryce and at home you really want to play in front of your home fans and establish something, establish a good feeling. They’ve done that in the early going. Scoring the first goal of the game. Here comes Meyer. Meyer with a shot. It just goes wide. tried to wrap around and kicks around and ends up in the blue. Evans with Hudson. Evans spins to his forehand. Cross ice pass. Valeno shot glove down. Rebound gobbled up off of Anderson. Stick by Marstrom and he gets the whistle. Make sure he finds that loose puck. Covers up. Clean faceoff win. Hudson between the circles. Shot from the far wing. Steering save by Marstrom off the stick of Dobson. Now the Devils can bring it out. Intercepted by Doc. He’s got a wall of Devils to contend with. pass the Boulder’s behind him. So Chelowski will bring it back out. Neich feathers a pass out to Jack Hughes. Slings a shot in the belly save. Shalowski across the crest of center ice. Passes it back out to the far wall. Nemits. Shot stick to side by Dovit. Centering pass. They score. Andre Palot has given the Devils a two to one lead. Well, finally Andre Pant rewarded gets his first goal of the year on a beautiful brought to you by the New Jersey lottery. Remember, anything can happen in Jersey. Nemits it joins the attack, gets a quick shot off that’s kind of blocked, but look at this backhand pass. No look to Palant. He gets that puck upstairs. We’ve seen him a few times in that scoring area, Bryce, you know, put it into the pads, but he roosts this one. Excuse me, over when you’re playing the Montreal Canadians. Welcome back to Devils Hockey presented by RWJ Barnabas Health, official healthc care provider of the New Jersey Devils. Chilowski, who’s played pretty well through 40 minutes and stepped up here and Nemits and Dylan and crew and you cues. Evans with a shot and he scores. on a completely sharp angle shot. Wasn’t expecting that one. And now we’re tied at two. I have to take a look at this, but hopefully not short side. Right. Right under the left pad of Marstrom. Couldn’t didn’t quite seal the ice. And look, he was sinking a bit in the crease there down. All right. Yeah. Mat his own blue luck cross ice pass goes back into the zone. Demod good job by the Devils to clear it back to the point. Mason battles for it. Lose the puck. Shot save. Rebound backhand. They score. Canadian stay persistent. They stuck with it. They get the goal on the backhand. And Kappan gives Montreal their first lead at 3-2. off the pad and Kaan’s right there on the rebound to break the tie on the backand. You know, and sometimes again with five defenseman get a little worn out and can’t quite get to that rebound. Although it’s it’s a nice break right to Kappa and he makes no mistake in front. 3-2 Montreal. Mat again bouncing puck. Mercer. Teemo gets enough of it to get out to the far wall. Settle it down. Settle it down. Jack Hughes at the circle. Slings one on. A save. Rebound trying to fish it back out. Teemo Meer scores. He roofs it to tie the game at three with 107 to go. as Montreal was blocking so many shots whether it’s the Devil’s power play really taking the middle ice away or with the goalender out but look at Dawson Mercer right in the thick of things poking away and Teimo Meyer off to the side finds this loose puck and bounces watch him pull it and get it upstairs as he finds it before Mat does two and one desperation heat by Hudson and a save by Marstrom from. Oh my, you want the whole loaf, but that was a big goal by Meyer with the goalender out in and now he drives right wing, stops, waits for reinforcements and stolen away. Here comes Brad. The game on his stick. Brad back in scores. [Applause] Desperate Brad has given the Devils the win here in overtime. Make it six in a row at the Rock. Third career overtime goal. Dano, you see right here, good pressure on New Hook that he makes him lose the puck and Brat with that speed and quickness and look at the excitement. No hook tries to spin back but Jper Bratz right there to steal the puck. Opens the five hole of Dovish. Nice patience. That’s great pressure by Teimo Meyer on New Hook which kind of created the turnover and Brad is right there off on a breakaway but it started with the pressure from Meyer just inside the Devils blue line. Look at this move by Bra. And he’s telling the fans, “Let’s celebrate. [Music]
New Jersey Devils’ Timo Meier scored in the dying minutes of the third to force overtime, where Jesper Bratt found the back of the net on a breakaway chance to seal a 4-3 win over the Montreal Canadiens. Jack Hughes tallied two assists in the win.

Considering we don't even deserve a single point from this game, I won't complaint with the result. GO HABS GO!
I hope Newhook is not the new Evan Bouchard for Canadiens.
Bratt is a NASTY man
looked fun
Newhook choked on that one
Bad luck that Matheson block that hurt him… made for a 6 on 4… before that we were really controlling the game on enemy ice which was nice to see… better luck next time!
DobeÅ” stole a point
#1 In MTL
And where was the physical play?? MTL had 10 opportunities to line guys up
Your not the Oilers. Make the Hit
LGD
Devils played pretty sound.. 2nd goal markstrom gave up was very weak.. and the first habs goal was jist damn unlucky.. not taking anything away fron the habs but i feel they were lucky to get a point.. but damn do they block shots like champs
Dobes is beginning to look more and more like Dominic Hasek every game. He's all over the place, but it WORKS!
what a terrible announcer and why would you call your team devils ? total rejects
Both these teams are so young, hungry and talented. Best game I've seen all week! Great Hockey!
eeeesh that first goal…a little humiliating on that one O_O
7:57 As often Evans is to passive and after Veleno was useless, he should have helped Mathuson alone with two Devils. I don't know know why Veleno is playing and Evans will dress much longer.
the goalies on both sides didn't bring their A game tonight
Not a goalie's game, that's for sure!
Mahwntrealā¦.
dobes worse game looks like Montys best game lmao ggs
that first goal by Dobes was 10000000% worse than Monty and yet i hear no complains lol.
The honeymoon phase is over, he's not made for winning
PUT THE GLOVE ON THE PUCK JESUS
pretty selfish play by newhook at the end there
poor coaching
8th seed, here we come
A buck 0.30 ?? What type of measurement is that???
Bratt is going to have to begin to be seen as a superstar along with Jack Hughes because there aināt no Peanut Butter without the Jelly and Bratt is the Jellyman and Hughes is looked at as a superstar so put some āRespekāš on Jesperās name cause he does many of the little things to win games and possibly a Cup that Jack does not!
It was rough watching Dobesā post-game interview. The guy really wants to get back how he played thenpuck with 1:08 to go. He knows he should have frozen it. Heās a professional, but he is very hard on himself. He will grow from this experience š
Excellent game from the boys we are on the same level as new jersey unfortunate turnover from newhook still a great game
Is that Jesse Ventura doing the Devils Play by Plsy???
Markstrƶm is a problem.
Fantastic game from 2 great young teams! Happy my Devils pulled it out but the injuries are killing them š„“ hope Dougie is okay but great teams continue to win with the next man up mentality. Weāll see what kind of team they really are in the next 1-2 months.
Wow so Dobes is not a starter… 3 goals on 26 shots, goal on first shot and didn't cover the puck on the tying goal
Man, if it weren't for to soft goals the Habs would have been cooked this game. Thats how she goes though, lady luck is for sure apart of the game.
Habs need a stay at home defenseman, especially come playoff time overplaying Matheson not the answer. All this goalie controversy is adding extra unnecessary pressure on both goalies.
Is there English highlight reels that are more neutral in commentary? I like to watch the Montreal Canadiens games but this Sportsnet Commentary always seems to cheer on the American teams.
Typical…this year…They take the lead by 1 goal then they play defensive until they loose.
Why do they not teach goalies to use their body. not just extend a hand to stop the puck.
Montreal needs a goalie.
Awesome game. Go Devils!!!
if you wining dont loose activity!!! … 3rd same finish in row … last minutes equalizer
What was Newhook thinking in overtime? Uugh!
