McCain’s linsanity run is over. Dude is completely washed 🙁
Nick Nurse should be fighting for his coaching life. After last year’s all-time catastrophe, he should’ve coaching like it’s his last every game. I wish New Orleans would take a look at him
Scheduled loss?
Don’t worry, Embiid and PG are coming back to save the day any day now!
We not gonna win anything with this sit…play….sit…play….sit….play…..embiid and pg gotta get it together
The 3rd quarter problem is getting ridiculous. wtf are we doing at halftime.
So frustrating how we throw in the 3rd quarter. We almost had the comeback but a couple timely 3’s ended it for us at the end. Those 3rd quarters though man, what are we doing.
The 3rd quarter woes strike again. Giving up 44 points? After a while, it becomes a pattern and not just coincidence.
This team is a few SGs…a bunch of min/near min players and a rookie playing huge minutes. This is what it will look like under any coach
One of Embiid or PG should’ve played tonight
Saving both for tomorrow doesn’t seem like a bright idea
How did VJ do?
At one point during tonights patented 3rd quarter collapse, I just started laughing. Not even mad—just giggling like a cartoon villain. My dog watched the whole thing with the face of a creature understanding, in real time, that his owner is beyond saving.
I fear I have become unwell.
Every game I wonder what Nurse does well. This team is winning soly based on talent and not good coaching. The 3Q shit is tiring.
People claiming that we’re not a good team are out of their mind. We’re missing our 2 star players and that does make a difference. Embiid is such an important key to this puzzle, and I miss him.
Good VJ game. Great highlights. That dunk really was a pivotal moment in his performance tonight. I feel like there’s a lot of opportunity to create plays with both VJ and Maxey. They work so well together.
Grimes is such a frustrating player. He will have amazing amazing stunts but then will get greedy and hog the ball. He’s also a horrible passer.
So happy to see Jared get his first bucket and play longer than 5min lol.
Honestly, this team has a lot of potential. Were only 15% of the season in, I still have hope. I genuinely feel like there’s a lot of pieces that will soon click and make us better.
My highlight of the night: the 3 guard lineup with McCain, Grimes and VJ. I was surprised to see how well it worked.

It never ends man
It’s time for Joel to retire it’s the same shit every season he never plays he’s doing this franchise a disservice at this point even though i appreciate how great he has been over the years
I’m choosing to believe that Embiid and PG weren’t playing tonight for strategic reasons. They need to test out all their possible lineups early in the season and can’t do that if they’re both alternating their rest days
But fuck, that could’ve been an easy win with Embiid on the court
Nurse has to go
Bob Myers was in attendance watching tonight
I know Josh hired him to oversee all sports teams but I wonder if this means anything more
Doesn’t look like McCain improved his handle enough, very depressing he was my only hope this year.
I’m starting to think if we’re delusional and that we probably just suck
If tomorrow isn’t a clear blowout, they need to genuinely start shopping for another coach
The fuck is wrong with this team in the third quarter
Team is mid
It is what it is
Was at the game, McCain looks fucking horrible and I’m sorry but I’m concerned he won’t get back to where he was.
We was missing three starters
Losses happen. I liked the fight the team brought. They never give up. VJ was aggressive and looked for his shot more, and Drummond did a great job on the boards. I think we’re forgetting that the Raptors have three guys who average over 20 points a game, and they were hot to end tonight. We were also missing Embiid, Oubre, and George.
First game in person this season and the 3rd quarter collapse is absolutely worse live lol. Just absolutely putrid defense that entire quarter. The Raptors weren’t going to shoot that poorly from 3 all game, but holy shit the amount of open 3s they were giving up and the the amount of wide open backdoor cuts/dump offs that were there was so demoralizing. The only person who looks like an actual quality nba defender was VJ that quarter. Not having Kelly out there to put on their best player really hurts right now. Maxey tries and isn’t bad at defense, but the Raptors just kept putting their big wings in a PnR/switches and just hunting mismatches. Just a recipe for disaster.
Also I see Nurse getting a lot of shit in the comments right now, I guess mostly related to the 3rd quarter. Obviously an issue. In my mind defensively more so, but there was 0 rim protection out there tonight. And holy shit is the offense putrid without Maxey. If nobody can even win off the dribble a little bit to make the defense move, there’s not really much a coach can do about that. There aren’t any secret plays or sets people seem to be referring to that Nurse doesn’t know about that the sixers aren’t going to. The raptors D was either locking the sixers down when Maxey wasn’t out there, or when he was, basically selling out to stop him. Getting doubled almost the whole second half. We needed other guys to step up to win this game and we just don’t have that. Nurse isn’t perfect but firing him like some people are alluding to is crazy. This is a very mid roster at the end of the day. I think Nurse could get them to stop turning it over so much and coach defense a bit better, but there isn’t a magic coach pill out there that will fix this team like some people are implying.
On a road trip and didn’t get to start watching till the comeback in the 4th. Abruptly lost service right after Maxey launched that 30 footer and didn’t get it back till game was over.
Hilarious reading all these rabid comments, normally I’d be seething too but the ether spared me that pain tonight.
Also idk if I’ll catch heat for saying it, but I think people might need to temper their expectations for the kind of player McCain is going to be. At least for this season. He’s obviously still incredibly rusty/not fully recovered from injuries, but I do think there’s a difference between looking rusty and just not looking like you belong on the floor. He’s completely unplayable right now if he’s not making 3’s. I’m sure in time he will look closer to last year’s player, but I think teams having some tape on him now and have some real scouting reports is going to make him have to work even harder to be even close to how good he was last year. I only say this because I think last year’s experience is inherently deceptive with how shitty the team was, and I hope people don’t turn on him in a negative way. I just am not sure he’s going to be an All-Star or potentially even a top 50 type of player. Would love to be wrong, but it’s a tough tough watch right now.
VJ stat line: 21 PTS/ 6 REB/ 4 AST/ 3 STL/ 2 BLK
Honorable mention (🤪): 4 turnovers
He stuffed the stat sheet 😁
