127 to the Heat at home. Man. We just cannot field a competent defense without Embiid.
Their ceiling is the 6th seed. They will most likely be playing in the play-in tho when it’s all said and done
Wow it REALLY is early 2000’s. Undersized carrying the team of young players learning and old bum vets!
Did Maxey come back in?
That has to be one of the emptiest 23 REB games ever by Drummond.
Please get healthy Kelly 🙏
Grimes really out here showing why he didn’t deserve 20+ mil per year
I’m still team trade PG because he’s such a non factor most nights
I’ll just pretend this game never happened except Jared McCain with his best game this season and Nick Nurse pulling a Kevin Patuillo by not utilizing him down the stretch.
The heat are a good team. Players, coaches, etc..
With VJ out I had a feeling it would be a tougher game given the how the Heat is playing thos year.
Team fought hard and even got it within reach but the Heat responded when they needed too.
Despite the loss, I feel good about our rematch but with VJ and/or Embiid playing. Think having that help defense helps with a win.
On the the next one and on to the Eagles.
Not to jinx it but we’ve alternated wins and losses basically all month so far. Would be nice to get a few in a row and get momentum back soon
Can just chalk this one up to good coach vs bad coach.
Eric Spoelstra runs an efficient and fundamental team. Nick nurse does not. That’s your game
Felt like a Sunday afternoon game that the Heat were ready for the Sixers were not. Oh well, on to the next
McCain was absolutely dreadful on defense today. He looks so small out there and just gets taken out of too many plays. I love his game, but it’s stupid to not recognize the reason he isn’t playing big minutes, especially in games where we are struggling to stop penetration.
Please for the love of god fire Nick nurse
PG 0/5 from three isn’t acceptable at his salary. Does he not practice shooting?
We have a coach that doesn’t know how to get the most out of this roster, nor does he understand the concept of calling timeouts to kill momentum shifts
And two max contract guys that are part timers, and are never consistently available and when they are available it’s just 20 minutes or less
This whole situation just isn’t fun, if they can’t effectively retool or build around Maxey, McCain, and VJ in the next two seasons they should set Maxey free to not waste his prime/time
Ideally they somehow flip PG for someone younger whose timeline fits better with the young core but idk
But yeah, wish the Philadelphia 76ers had a coach who was ambitious, innovative, and not clueless
I feel like two or three weeks from now McCain scores 22-25 easily and it’s a hell of a lot closer.
I would like to say AI was at the game so I knew we were gonna lose.
16pts in the 4th? Is that a typo?
Disappointing loss. However, no embiid. No Oubre. No VJ. PG and McCain on minutes restrictions. This team is a patchwork right now. This is a 9-7 team.
How the fuck did they not double Jaquez a single time the whole game?
Wasn’t expecting to win this matchup with or without VJ, but the apathetic 4Q timeout usage is just infuriating.
No VJ, Embiid, and obviously no Oubre. You’re not going to win without those three against a team like Miami; being without two has been difficult these past couple of weeks.
Eh I find it hard to be upset about this game. Missing all our best defenders, Spoelstra is a great coach and the heat are playing well, PG/McCain are still working their way back.
It was going to have to be another Maxey carry job to get the W. Still having fun this season.
Idc if I have to say it on every post-game thread: Nurse is a bad coach. It’s even more evident when compared to a genuinely good coach like Spoelstra.
A better game for McCain, which is always great! Maxey had some cool shots too
McCain and Grimes are awful at defence and aren’t even attempting to grab rebound. This is why Nurse will never prioritize starting them over VJ. We’re not losing because of bad offence but because of weak defence.
Unfortunately, I’m having a hard time seeing how the minute distribution is going to look like between the 4 guards (when healthy with no minute restriction). I fear that McCain might simply average 15-20min. But, I am looking forward to see how McCain and Embiid play together, maybe that could be an alternative lineup to reduce Maxey’s minute
Drummond with 23 rebounds is both amazing and annoying. Annoying because he had no help
Missing Kelly and Embiid, Hope to see them soon. But regardless, on to the next!
