Flyers vs. Islanders | NHL Highlights | November 28, 2025
His numbers against the Islanders are sparkling.
A perfect 4 and0. Our puck drop is presented by Vanda Pharmaceuticals. And away we go. 25th game
of the season for the New York Islanders. The second of four meetings against Philadelphia.
Alan Furing, Thomas, and Count Flutterbuck down at ice level with you this afternoon. Thanks so
much for tuning in. Here’s Matt Barcel right away to the middle. Was looking for lay the puck to
the front and it’s Drewan right off. We didn’t see much the other night. A crossc corner dump.
How about this? Be the first to it at Anders Lee. The awareness of where Barzel is and watch this
thing find its way to Jonathan Dre right in the middle of the ice. Erison tested early. He’s not
been the main guy in net for the Philadelphia. Philly falls into that category. You’re going to
have to work for it. Here’s Sailor with a shot right on and that’s gloved and held by David
Rivick on the kill. He was on his horse from the top of the circles making sure that they
didn’t get an opportunity at the other end. Mlan with a shot off the panel of the goalender
Erson. Big hit there on Richie. He spills over. Seer with the hit. Here’s Holstrom. Jam
it off. Shoots it off the post. Looking the other way. It could have been one- nothing
for the Islanders. How about that? Practically a twoon Sanheim back to cut off Emil Heinman.
Well, Sanheim’s going to play a ton of minutes. He’s an underrated player. He does a bit of
everything. Plays on his offside. I mean, watch number six. Look out here. Forester shoots
and scores. Fifth goal in the last five games for Tyson Forester. Philadelphia has got the first one
this afternoon. 11 and 1 half to go in the first period. This thing turns around the other way
and the Islanders in actually good shape here, but can’t quite handle it and didn’t pick up
where that pressure was coming from. Heman sort of got his pocket picked. I think Forester
surprised him, but you mentioned how hot he is, Alan. He leads their team in goals. He had
26 last year. This guy’s gonna get 30 maybe every single season in the NHL. And just the
seventh time this season that Philadelphia has scored the first goal in a game, fewest in the
league. Here’s Coutureier off the post and in. That’s two quick ones for the Flyers and
the Islanders staring at a two nothing deficit here in the first. I can see what Tony
D’Angelo is going for. But you’re going to have Shawn Couture who’s driving right up through the
middle of the ice right now. He thinks he sees a body there. He thinks it’s his teammate. And
for Couture, he took a ton off of that thing, Cal. I mean, when he got this puck, Rick came
out to challenge. And you notice right here, he just It’s almost like a half speed shot
as he goes post it in. Yeah. Accuracy over velocity. And in order to find that little
pocket under the glove and over the pad, sometimes you got to take a little off it cuz that
thing was pull for banking in front of him. Left it for Schaer down low. Shabanov to the middle
and it comes all the way through. Cal Richie across. Here’s Mayfield. Ris to right. Aubrey
directed it on and he’ll swallow it up. debut and just an efficient puck mover and
a nice little pause and patience by Scott Mayfield there allowed Dran to get his stick on
that and that’s what we talked about that’s what we want to see bodies in front of the net
make it tough for him you can’t even really see the goalender from this angle that’s
good in my books well Andersly doing what he’s supposed to do in front of the net and
that puck Barcel has the look sends it down low Mary to the front for Drew and hops on for
Harbat and getting a piece of it was a flyers that’s not had the offense come quite as ease
easy uh so far on this home stand. This is big up the middle. Andre right on save Rick but
stop at the pad. Islanders can’t clear. Andre down low swinging a miss from Mechovstrom
couldn’t get it out. Email Andre a sit off. Turn to him by Tippet. Here’s Owen Tippet.
has a look. Sends it to the goal line. Got it back from Bobby Brink. Tip it. Wrist shot.
Missed the net. Andre out high. Here’s Sanheim with space. Kick save Riddick. And the puck is
banged off the near wall and down by Hinaman. And a half into this secondary. A penalty down
in 19 seconds. Flyers back in. Andre will send it down low. Mechov off to a very slow start
this year. Here’s Andre with time and space. Uses it. Tried to go top shelf and the puck was
redirected into the corner. Back in front. They score. Ziggris to the middle and it’s into the
back of the net. Philadelphia with a power play goal and a three nothing lead. Something to keep
an eye on. But I think the fact Cal 2 though that it went let’s see see if anything happens cleared
the zone after that. You know a glorious chance for Andre. There was one from each before that
and how about Segrets moving. I mean that thing deflects an awful ugly deflection and ends up
in the back of the net but both the Flyers and the Islanders saying it was out of play but that
thing went down the length of the ice and they play on and 3 seconds left in that kill. Got a
sting but it wasn’t a great kill and this group has been good for the Islanders. Need to win and
you’ve got a lot of time on the clock. Let’s see if the score deviate deviates them from their
game. Finder if they they can get going again and try and get back into this game. They’re
going to have to blow it down here. Uh moving a little better as Palms. He’s just stripping
it away there. Sets up Drewan. He scores. How about that? An assist for Kyle Palmary as he
goes off the ice and down the tunnel. Meanwhile, Emil Heinman celebrates his 10th goal of the
season. We’re going to bowl this down on one leg. How about this? A little ginger pick pocket
over to Druan Heinman. Back of the net. Islanders are back in the game. And Orvat to Heinman turns
kick save. Last second there by Horvbat to the middle. Shabanov with a look. Oh, the lines are
going to be here’s Shabanov again down low. Tough angle for Horvat. kicked away by Eri good job and
maybe being down by three it changes the urgency in your game needed to score maybe that’s what
the Islanders need obviously you don’t want to spot the other in the middle of the ice I
mean his eyes his body language everything is telling that it’s not going to Horvaten
will set it down low for Duclair Sikis hope for Mlan and he didn’t see the pass coming
in by Mlan look for Duplair again couldn’t complete the pass. Squeeze is taken down.
Penalty call. Here’s Schaer. Step scores. Matthew Schaefer puts the Islanders within one.
Scour line. The Islanders fourth line wins this battle. They did the shift previous and then they
go hunt it down. And how about that work? That second effort from Sikas. And as this play goes
along, there’s a penalty coming right there to Garnet Hathaway. The Islanders continue to stick
with it. And how about this from Schaefer? I mean, you don’t have any net to shoot on. You pick a
spot below the glove, above the pad, reminiscent little bit of Cal Plutterbuck. Eighth of the
year for Schaer. Here’s Barcel having a look. Curls back. Mayfield with room to skate. Shoots
one wide. Comes around the boards and out. Yeah, you mentioned it, Cal. Maybe your instinct comes
back in the game in situations like these. Oh, here’s Philly. Bobby Brink with room. Takes
it to the net. Backhand shot stopped by Reick. Islanders were down three nothing very long ago.
Here’s Mccclelay. Cuts back. Beats it out high. That’s Cam York. Has a catch with Ziggress. York
lets one fly. Schaffer it behind the net. Bounces off for Lee. Barcel with a shot. shrugged away.
Stick handles and now Button notes back. Here’s Shabinoff. Corvette touches it along for Schaer.
Schaffer shot score. Anders Lee deflects it. Islanders tied the game. Max Shabov got it through
and it’s 33 late in the second. It was after a bunch of those from the New York Islanders.
Different personnel. Maybe that’s what it took as Barcel seemed to hold on to this thing forever.
And as it goes up top, Schaefer just comes in to let this thing rip as it continues to move around.
Watch Shabana right in the middle there. He got it stick on it. Maybe through the legs of Anders
Lee. Maybe it hit Anders Lee and went in after all the ones that didn’t get by him before. A double
deflection. Shabanov Lee. Great eye. Allen pedling as one of the three goals today for the Isles.
There’s those long strikes. Gates ahead drag shot block rebound. It was there for Horvat zone. And
if you’re a forward, you’re going to come at him, you better have the right angle cuz you get
there on the back side of him as Noah Kates does. It’s game over. Right across the line,
it’s a shot that gets blocked by Jules. And here’s that and a good active stick and he pokes
it away with 650 left. Just a great job by Schaer stick everything there. Oh, here’s Duplair. What
a move. Anthony Dupla Richie saved by Arison. Yeah, explosive burst by Anthony Duclair outside
in. There you go. The ankle breaker and then the awareness to go to Cal Richie. And then as this
play materializes, Matt Fe Mitchkov comes in. Highlanders get fresh bodies on including Richie
who drew the penalty. Ruan Alfred D’Angelo across height of it off the barn. It sprays up and out
of play. Yeah, we did a little segment on his release and you can see he’s he’s a half windup
and that thing is just exploding off his blade today. If I’m him, I put a a little Sharpie mark
on the knob of that stick and I keep it’s the gate of possession and that gets things back in the
hands of Van Her Matthew Shape right over the line. Holstrom pulls off. Hean shot knocked away
with the shot and Cal this just continued to come. Yeah. And Emil Heinman again with this release.
It hits the knob of the stick of I’ll lock his nets off here. He picks up speed. Ziggress in on
Reick. Scores. That is filthy. If you’re going to do this, I mean, how about that? Beautiful set
of hands on him. Each caught two for four on the season. Through the circle to the middle of the
ice. The back hand denied by the glove of David Re. Down by Reick. There is similar to what we saw
Trevor Trevor Zebras flashiest miss around. Here he is on air. Holstrom. What a move. And what a
goal for Simon Holstrom. Backhand to forehand. I think he shows a bit of that there. The opposite.
The veteran bears down on Reick. Scores. That’s a beautiful move. I mean, he’s getting Reick a shot.
And watch this thing come off speed. Selling a big shot. No, I’m going back the far side. Here’s
Bo Horvette in on slows. Horvette trying to go five hole. Arison slams the door. The Flyers
win in a shootout and the final score is 4-3.

1980 NHL Stanley Cup Final rematch
As a Philly sports fan these guys are so much more electric to watch than the choking Eagles right now
That Palmieri goal was cheap af 😂
Can we be done with the D’Angelo experiment? He is the pits
Also, the Isles need to stay after practice and work on their shots. Game after game they have loads of opportunities but cant score goals
Every time I see one of those filthy goals by Zegras i scratch my head at Anaheim but hey… thanks!
So this is what it feels like to actually be good in OT and Shootouts…
The Flyers are fun and very stressful to watch
The refs must have been pretty unhappy with this outcome. They did everything they could in the 2nd period to get the Islanders back in the game.
Eric Furlatt is an idiot
Good game by the flyers but what a comeback in my opinion. Go isles
Isles look pretty damn good this year
Too many men when Palmieri played the puck before the first Islanders goal
At least I can come here and watch a team who wants to win. Eagles are cooked! Fire sirriani. Go Flyers
I'm a Flyers fan but the Palmieri assist was what hockey is all about with toughness and never giving up on a play.
The Isles should let Schaefer try a shootout goal
Flyers are THE only good team to watch in Philly since the Eagles are dogshit now
