  1. whats really killing us is the lack of a back up centre mixed with the inconsistency of the Gradey/Jakobe/Ochai combo

Bobby needs to address both issues before the trade deadline

  2. this reality check shows that the raps are at best a 6th seed team or will probably be in the play-in come april

  3. This is the thing with Ingram. He will have stretches where his shot is off and he’s not good.

    Scottie was awesome.

    The SGs have been putrid.

  4. We win that game with Yak. We are too reliant on him and we need a back up ASAP.

Also I’m beginning to think maybe moving on from Gradey is a possibility.

  5. So yeah we know this team is awful missing Yak. But it’s been real concerning how bad the offense has looked without RJ.

They’re going to struggle if they collapse if any starter is out.

  6. Am I the only one who isnt worried? We didn’t have Jak or RJ. It will be better for the NBA cup guys dont worry

  7. They deserve a few off nights after the run they had, but hopefully they will respond. Their response will show where they truly stand in the rankings and we are also getting to the number of games that sample sizes are becoming significant.

  8. Notes from this game:
    – no excuses saying “oh it was the second half of a back to back against a good team” – that was Us vs the Hornets yesterday, and the hornets gutted out a comeback OT win
    – Scottie and CMB were great in the first half. Can see a bright future with those two small bigs / big wings. The IQ, passing, and Defense between the two of them is full of potential.
    – Ingram with a second game where he looked not great. The dribble was too loose this game
    – the wings on this team after BI/RJ…. that’s our real weakness. No shooting, no scoring, no dribbling. We desperately need RJ back.
    – I love the concept of Jamal Shead. I’m just desperate to see signs that he can score at an NBA level. I really really hope he can show signs of life there with the jumper

  9. crazy that Mitchell Robinson played 17 minutes and had a field day towering over the raps grabbing 15 rebounds, 7 of which are offensive rebounds. Clear as day what the Raps are missing…

  10. Tough to win on a B2B coming off an OT loss and playing at the Garden without Jak and RJ.

Only takeaways from this one is that Gradey, Jakobe and Ochai are still very disappointing to start this season.

Darko gotta do something to get these guys going. We’re not doing anything if they all play like ass all season. We need their shooting and scoring punch.

  11. I’m not sure what you changed but I appreciate the new box score u/absolutkaos (presumably)!

Has all the stats and very easy to read (using old.reddit)

  12. sorry guys, haven’t watched the last 2 game with my boyfriend, that’s why we’ve lost yet again

  13. A huge problem with the Raps offense may actually be coaching decisions. I hate seeing guys pass up open jump shots on the perimeter only to end up taking contested shots with the shot clock running down. If Scottie has the hot hand taking 3s, I would rather see him continue to take 3s. If these guys routinely pass up open jumpers, the defense will always collapse and they will only end up with tough shots. I thought that was the whole point of having Gradey, Ochai, and Battle on the team. They obviously need RJ out there if they’re not going to take open jumpers. On the bright side, Scottie and CMB looked good. My wish list is 1) the offense tries to get more uncontested 3s for Scottie 2) CMB gets more minutes.

  14. A few injuries and a back to back against a rested team. Not going to harp too much on a loss but the lack of rebounding is a major problem. They need a backup C if Poeltl isn’t going to play 36 minutes a night every night.

  15. No Jakob means no rebounding. No RJ means the only rim pressure comes from Scottie. This team is a fun lower seed playoff team. Like the first year after Rudy Gay trade iteration of Lowry/Demar era…not like the 2019 Raps. We don’t need big win now trades, we need consistent growth from our young guys.

  16. Knicks fan coming in peace.
Y’all are legit contenders with BI being the real deal.

Question: How have RJ and Quickley been performing?

OG has been as advertised, a beast that can’t stay healthy.

  17. Definite positive was Ochai Agbaji +3 in 16 minutes. The only + player.

Easily his best game of the season.

  18. We drop to 3rd in the East but if the playoffs started today we’d get Orlando

    A favorable matchup

  19. Jakob is our most important player. Whenever he’s out other teams can do whatever they want on the glass. The lack of RJ severely hurts as well. We definitely need a serviceable backup big but so does over 20 teams in the league. Going to be tough to fill that hole without giving up something.

  20. with poetl out i expected a stomp facing a 2-big lineup. shouldn’t have lost yesterdays game though
