This was great..

[Music] Everybody and their dogs and cats know that the Habs have been struggling lately. Last night they were on the road in Pittsburgh and they decided to bring along some reinforcements, including 21-year-old goender Jacob Fowler, who was set to make his NHL debut last night. Hippie with some holy music. It was a pretty big night for him. His family were in the building. Look at these tickets. You can’t get any better than that. And if you were feeling a little peanut butter and jealous last night, if you want to get your hands on some tickets like these, well, you’re going to love the sponsor of today’s video, SeatGeek. Shout out to Segeek for sponsoring today’s video. And here we go. Habs pants. The puck is dropped. And one thing you’re going to notice right from the opening face off is that the Penguins were having a terrible time in the Dzone last night. Okay, this this started right at the beginning of the game. It was a pure pizza distribution factory out there. Just a couple of minutes in, we got Papa John himself. That’s Chris Latang putting one right on the tape of Alexander Texier who bars one upstairs for his first goal as a member of the Montreal Canadiens. You got to admit they don’t get a whole lot nicer than that one. What a shot. Dan Muse can’t believe it. He’s got that look on his face like he might have just opened his second haird dryer on Christmas morning. He’s clearly disappointed. The Canadians, they’re going to limit the Penguins to just four shots on goal during the first period of this hockey game. It was a perfect start on the road. They get very close to taking a twogoal lead on a couple of different occasions, but Tristan Jerry, he slams the door shut. And in one particular case, he doesn’t even have to worry about giving up a rebound because Joe Valeno was on the ice and look at him. He doesn’t even go to the net. What the heck is he doing over there in the corner trying to give GI a lap dance or something? Get your ass out of there. But now we’re going to move on to the second period where the Hebss, they’re going to start to run away with this thing. Brendan Gallagher gets the party started. He’s going to make it a twogoal game. Just a a beautiful zone entry here from Slavowsky and Hudson. Then we got Ingramstrom getting tripped up the Hebs. They get to go to work on a power play where Cole Cfield, our little bundle of joy, is going to tuck away his 17th goal of the season. A very sneaky one. I’m telling you, this kid, man, he could he could piss over your shoulder while you’re standing at a urinal and you would even get splashed. He’s that accurate. Owen Bick scores his first goal in the National Hockey League. Or at least it looked like he did. But unfortunately for him, this one gets taken away from him because apparently Josh Anderson was offside. So we got a treegoal game now after two periods of play. Jacob Fowler stopped all 16 shots that he faced during the second period. And I don’t care what anyone says, he was he was great. Some of these saves are the exact kind of saves that the Canadians they’ve been looking for over the past couple of weeks. Okay? When you got a goalender that’s capable of stopping shots that are getting redirected, I mean, naturally, you’re going to be a more confident group. Fowler, he he gave them confidence last night. So, now we’re going to move on to the third period where the opening minute is complete chaos. Okay, the Penguins are finally going to find a way to beat Jacob Fowler with Sydney Crosby just giving Brian Rust a gift. But instead of sitting back and letting the Penguins crawl back into it on the very next shift, this Slavsky, Demi Dove, and Kappan line, they’re going to answer right back and they’re going to do it immediately. Now it’s four to one. Captain’s goal comes just 15 seconds after that Brian Rust goal. So, as you can imagine, this was a real kick in the stones for Dan Muse and the Pittsburgh Penguins. I mean, who’s really getting kicked in the stones here, Jaden Strobball or Dan Muse? I think it’s pretty even. Now, the Hebss do make some bonehitted plays and they take some bonehitted penalties to close out this game, okay? Because that’s that’s just what they do. Especially Alexander Ker, who looked horrible again last night in my opinion. He’s been just struggling this season. But the Penguins do get one more goal on the power play with just under five minutes remaining in this game. But in the final few minutes, we get to witness a pure master class from Jacob Fowler, who stopped everything that the Penguins were throwing at him. It was crazy. He even gets a little help from his good buddy Lane Hudson here, who gets down to Rob Crosby. And the Canadians, they go on to defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins by a score of four-2. But I mean, the biggest storyline coming out of this game is obviously Jacob Fowler. this young man in front of family and friends. He stopped 36 shots last night in his NHL debut. I mean, he was busy. He put up a 947 save percentage. He’s he’s definitely earned himself another start. I don’t even think it’s a question. And I mean, obviously, we got to try to tamper our expectations here, but Habs fans are feeling pretty confident right now that Jacob Fowler is going to be the man of the future between the pipes. Okay, it it might not be this season. I mean, don’t be shocked if he gets sent back down at some point, but this kid appears to have a really bright future in front of him. So, that’s that’s something to be excited about. Now, I’m also pretty happy that they decided to give him his first career NHL start against the Pittsburgh Penguins because the Hebs, they’ve had some pretty good luck in the past with goalies getting starts in Pittsburgh. Droid Wah Price and now Fowler, you got to love it being involved with these names. No big deal, Jacob. No uh no extra pressure. So, let’s go ahead crack the yolk and take a look at the updated standings after that win last night. The Canadians still find themselves in fourth place in the Atlantic division. There’s just three points between them and first place, but there’s also just three points between them and seventh place. Okay, it’s a bit of a log jam. It’s been like that since the beginning of the season. Next up, they’re going to be taking on the New York Rangers on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden. And 24 hours later at the Bell Center, they’re going to be back at home hosting Conor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers. So, is this win last night against the Pittsburgh Penguins, is this is this a win that the Canadians are going to try and build off of or are they going to continue this shitty little up and down trajectory that they’ve been going on for some reason. I guess we’re going to have to wait and see. I am expecting Jacob Fowler to play at least one of these games. I mean, if it were up to me, it would probably be the game against the Rangers tomorrow night. However, it is tempting to let him get a sniff at the Bell Center as well on on Sunday night. But that’s going to do it for today’s video. You can let me know your thoughts on the game. You can let me know your thoughts on Jacob Fowler, who looked as cool as as a cucumber out there. Please don’t forget to smack that like button right across the lips before you leave here. And hey, I’ll see you next time.

OK Guys, it’s time to take a look at the game last night between the Montréal Canadiens and the Pittsburgh Penguins! The Habs won this game by a score of 4-2, however, it’s the play of rookie goaltender Jacob Fowler that everybody is talking about this morning. 1. MSL su#%s Arber has outplayed Carriere and Struble over the last month why is he sitting? Struble was being bailed out by Engstrom last night. The little Napoleon complex coach also had Gallagher on the ice in the last few minutes Fowler had to pull a Price and save the team from stupid coaching.

  2. I am very happy for Jacob Fowler and his family that were there to watch him. He had easy first period but then got to show us what he is made of. Our boys were on their best behaviour defensively speaking. Jacob Fowler seems very calm, cool and collected.

  3. Struble can play like a fucking peewee every god damn night but GOD FORBID Xhekaj takes a penalty for defending his teammates. My patience is getting thin for St-Louis. This and Veleno getting more ice time than Demidov.

  4. Pretty happy with the effort against the Penguins. Positives all around however a defensive lapse ruined Fowler's chance at a clean sheet but overall the team played better. The comeback goal by Kap on a laser pass from Slaf was filthy. That's the kind of response you want to see. I reckon Fowler earned the start in the Bell centre against the Rangers. Tanks HJ.

  5. I say the same thing about Dobes that I’m going to say about Fowler. He’s earned the right to another night between the pipes. What’s the point of spreading them out. Play him until he gives up the crease. It’s his until he loses it. Fair enough for all involved.

  6. Lets get one thing clear I'm a wings fan 110% but love watching this habs team this year and although the habs will prob be a thorn in the side of my team this year and likely many more to come. With all these young guys breaking out and the team turning the corner you have to love to see it! all love but #LGRW

  7. don't give him the dobès treatment ("wow he's so good he should be #1" to "we got no good goalie!!") … let's just see how it goes for him,. But are we going for 3 goalies again!?!

  8. I've been saying for weeks that Matheson-Dobson sucks and Hutson needs to be with Dobson, and here we are with the results. About time Ti Louis. Dryden, Roy, Price and now Fowler with a first nhl win in Pitts. Price called Fowler before the game, dope shit. And Jarry got traded the day after, double dope shit. Habs def is lame when lefty D's are on the right side… Still waiting for Ti Louis admit that Reinbacher is required and that Struble and Engstrom can phoque off.
    Edit:
    Hutson – Dobson
Guhle (when fixed obvs..) – Reinbacher
    Matheson – Carrier
And where do I see Xhekaj? Remember Mathieu Dandenault.

  9. My TOTs are threefold…(1) Congratulations to Jacob Fowler and his family. WOOH! (2) What position is Hutson NOT playing on the ice? The guy is everywhere doing everything every game. (3) I love Slaf!!!

  10. Not a fan of BC Eagles. I'll say that as an NU alum. HOWEVER, watch his draft interview with the Habs. You'll learn a little bit about why I think this kid will grow into something really special. The years of never quite making that elite roster or travel team all adds up into what really makes a player a PLAYER. Watch out for this one!
