Blue Jays Christmas Wishlist

Gate 14 podcast and we are back. I am back after a week hiatus. Ross the Boss Atkins breaks the streak of a transaction a week comes to an end. The Iron Man streak comes to an end from Ross the boss. Avery, how we feel? Well, there’s really nothing to talk about like at all. >> I I woke up like a little bit ago and I was just like, “Yeah, what are we actually going to talk like? What can we call this episode? What would I send cam for a thumbnail?” And I didn’t come up with a single thing or I that we wouldn’t just go that we wouldn’t just go over the last four weeks we’ve been doing this >> like Blue Jay’s Christmas wish list maybe. I don’t know. Something like that, you know? >> Yeah. I mean, I didn’t come up with to give ourselves credit on the back. But thank you, credit to ourselves, for not making these [ __ ] [ __ ] ass thumbnails that I see other Blue Jays content creators do. Like, I’m sorry, man. This is crazy. This is insane. Wow. Big move happening. Unbelievable. He said, “What?” Like, >> whatever happened to Shane, Avery? >> It’s part of the game. I understand it’s part of the game, but this might be a like a mean slight, but if you provide no value and you can’t have people like be entertaining for people, you have to come up with those type of thumbnails. That’s really what it is to drive people to your page. It’s more a test it’s more a testament to you than it is to like your actual product. Because if the only way people actually watch your videos is by saying this is crazy or this is insane, maybe take a look in that mirror and see am I providing any value to this? Because how many [ __ ] Tik Toks do I have to see? How many videos do I have to see of content creators essentially just saying the Blue Jays are interested in Kyle Tucker? Seen like 400 of them every time I like it’s just like oh development the Blue Jays are interested in Kyle Tucker. Haven’t seen that one yet. And I said it early in the offseason. It’s like they’re just rewarding the saying that happened like November 5th about being interested in Kyle Tucker. >> That that is the problem is when there’s no news. You just go over your past report. It’s like it’s like reposting content. It’s like, you know what, we got nothing good to do right now, so we’ll just go back into the files and find something good. Um, the YouTube game’s funny because I because you have to try and play it, but like we could do it better that way, but you also don’t want to be like >> I I you don’t want you don’t want to be cringe about it. And yeah, you don’t want to mislead on purpose. Like we kind of do that a little bit sometimes, but nothing that it’s like >> I think I think we do it the I I think the way we do it is is like we just say our thoughts like what’s next for the Blue Jays? this and like that’s like a probably a more understanding way and I think the audience appreciates that more than the slop of like this is crazy or I can’t believe you said that where it just intrigues people to click on the link but that is the YouTube game and I get that you have to have a lot of arrows a lot of uh all that type >> the arrow the arrows work the arrows >> the arrows work it’s a cheat code it’s a literal it’s like that LeBron move it’s just like it’s unstoppable the arrows but um and speaking about the insiders man uh I’ve been getting into it with the MLB Live on Twitter. I’ve been going back and forth. Um, some of these I always forget I I don’t know why I forget it, but every offseason just new insiders pop up. I’m just reminded of like all of the random accounts that pretend like agents and owners are talking to them. Um, it is hilarious, but there’s just really >> Was he the Cardinals live guy before? Like >> he was. Yeah. And he got bullied off of Cardinals Twitter to do to switch to MLB Live. No, he has so many he obviously has so many uh inside. >> Well, now he’s not just Cardinals. He’s like Giants, Red Sox, Blue Jay. Like people >> I had seen him do I had seen him do um never know if he was right or not cuz I would never actually like look into it, but he would do trade deadline stuff too. Like he would talk about the Jay’s trade deadline. >> He’s like he’s he’s like the mini me passing, you know? It’s it’s like passing and then him. And uh when so the funniest thing is I’d love to investigate the brain of the people that say to him, “Hey man, any update on the Blue Jays?” Like come on, man. Let’s like of course like come on like let’s be real here. Unless it’s passing, I don’t care. And that’s and honestly I’m even speaking about Moroci. Mosi came out early in the week and was like, “You’ll know clear-cut the two teams or the three teams that Tucker is talk like is is in the finalist for Tucker within 24 to 72 hours.” And not a single news drop. The only thing that happened was it was like, “Yeah, the Jays are the front runners.” >> Yes. >> No shitty miss. >> I hate it. It sucks. It’s fun to be a part of a little bit. Yeah. >> And then you get into this time of year >> um where everything kind of drags on a little bit and yeah, you’re just reiterating everything that one person had said. And obviously the insiders, the best thing about being the insiders is you can take other people’s information >> and use it as your own. >> Correct. Yeah. >> That and that’s what started my beef with the MLB Live guy. Buck Martinez said on IB network, he was like, “Bo Bashette obviously wants a reunion and so do the Blue Jays.” And then he did an entire paragraph based off of the Buck Martinez thing, essentially just reiterating what he was saying. That’s kind of what you do. It’s it’s it’s more so >> you’re not wrong, right? >> Yeah, you’re not wrong. I mean, you’re not it’s like a really you’re just coming out with a tape. Like I could just tweet right now Kyle Tucker and the Blue Jays like they’re interested in each other and you >> No, you could say the White Socks and Mirami are interested in each other, right? >> It’s like that’s and you can have no there’s no you can’t get old takes exposed for it. You can’t get cuz it’s not a concrete type of thing. You’re just saying interested. You could say anyone’s interested in someone really. That’s how it works. But who’s on your Mount Rushmore of actual reporters? >> Like bad alltime bad reporters. Dude, I don’t I don’t like know any of them by name because I don’t follow them. I don’t >> like Night andale has to be up there. >> Yeah, Boob. Boob Nightingale is >> who did the plane Otani thing? Like I I totally don’t even know. >> Heyman, right? >> I I don’t know. Like I don’t >> Heyman, I think did that. >> I recently turned on pass in notifications on Twitter, so I hadn’t followed him. Okay. >> Up until this off season because >> I know like he doesn’t tweet that much. He pretty much just tweets >> uh when the signings happen or like yeah maybe an article. So it’s like >> orhole like like throat the Baltimore Orioles lineup called him a jug like called him a a juggernaut or whatever the [ __ ] Uh >> so I I turned on his notifications. That was the first person I’ve ever turned on tweet notifications for is Jeff Pass. So >> yeah and it’s rightfully so. I mean he he’s the guy like he is the top dog and that’s who every reporter strives to be. And honestly I’ll even put I might be a little biased. He’s like, I considered him a friend. Like Robert Murray’s up there as well probably in terms of like he only he only tweets stuff uh that actually happens. >> Robert Murray, he lost me a little bit uh during the draft. He lost me when they said they were taking Jamie Arnold and then it was >> Oh, he said that. >> Yeah, he was like he was he was breaking draft picks. I think it was Robert Murray. >> No, that wasn’t Robert Murray. That was the other guy. That was the other guy. Yeah, that was the guy with the uh >> with like the the backwards hat profile picture. That’s not Robert Murray. >> Okay, thank God cuz I want to like Robert Murray a lot cuz he seems like >> that wasn’t Robert Murray. >> Robert, he’s he’s on the comeup. >> He is. >> He’s on the He’s the next uh next in line. It is funny. >> Like I do understand these guys taking nuggets from agents. Like it helps them get clicks and it helps the agents too. So like I’m not going to ever be mad at that. But once you can decipher and you can weed out through the obvious [ __ ] I think it’s easy to understand that the rumors don’t mean too much. I mean, just just wait in time and and you’ll see if you get the guys or not. It’s it’s easy to do that. But every person that I’ve talked to the last three week I was playing hockey last week um and there’s like a scrap at the end of the game. I’m like I’m making sure I’m not like fighting or being a dick to anyone on the ice cuz I know it’s going to come back to me and the guy on the bench goes, “Are we getting Tucker and Bo?” Like everyone just wants to say, >> “Yeah, >> Tucker.” It’s It’s everything. Every single Are we getting both? I’m just saying. >> I was at a party uh with you on Friday and it’s just every person that comes up to me, like people I didn’t know, they’re like, “So, what do you think? It’s either Tucker or Bo?” Like, dude, I I have no idea, brother. No idea. But um where there’s smoke, there is fire. I do think the Jays get one of those guys. Like I couldn’t believe you guys had a podcast last week. Again, it made sense like what happens if they don’t the backup plans. But uh I do think they’re going to I hate to say it, but as the way this team is constructed right now, I do not think they’re that good offensively if they don’t land one of those guys. And that’s not a hot take to say. No, we were all in the same boat that it we think one of those two like it yeah from everything that’s been talked about that it it was just give us something to do last week like okay you know what let’s put something together like not don’t be too ridiculous but like >> Hassan Kim got signed the day right after and it was like okay if Bo and Tucker somehow both go somewhere else like if if Tucker signs first I don’t see how there’s any way the Jays don’t sign Bo back and Bo doesn’t get a position to like get more money than he would before. >> I I I do think Bo is waiting for Kyle Tucker. Like, and I I don’t think it’s like a bad thing or a good thing for the Jays. Like, Kyle Tucker is is a Jay. I I’m not going to say it increases the chances of the Jays getting Bo. It doesn’t diminish it, I don’t think, that crazy. Like, who are in the market for Bob Bashette? >> Depends on what Bo’s ask is, though. >> For sure. if he’s willing to take, which he might totally not be in, it’s 100% understandable if he’s not willing to take a short IAV with with opt outs. Like totally understandable. >> Yeah. >> Um but who’s like market is interesting because it could >> it’s like the Red Sox, right? >> It it could be the Yankees. The Yankees trading Jazz I think is just a silly move. I I >> He’s I hate to say it. He’s awesome though. >> He was So I didn’t put this in the episode. So, I I wrote down three things, three possible players, and I only said two of them. And my third one was trading for Jazz Chisum, the Jays. >> I don’t think the Yankees would do that. >> No, because they’d be like, “What do you guys see in Jazz that we don’t see?” And I’m just like, “Jazz is this great player. Why would you Why would >> And he fills a need. He could play second, right?” >> Yeah. And you could I don’t know what his defensive metrics like. The thought is that he could play center field, too. I don’t know if they’re actually going to do that because they might not be great. But yeah, I was thinking maybe Jazz is the other one. But say Kyle Tucker signed somewhere else and the teams on Bo would be like the Mariners could be in on Bo. >> Um >> they lost Palano. >> Yeah, the Yankees could be in on Bo, although they don’t seem too too destined to want to spend a lot of money based on what’s going on. >> Um the Red Sox could be another one too. It’s like the Phillies unfortunately like there’s I I’ve seen some stuff the Mets, right? like he could play some other positions with the Mets. They don’t who’s the Mets like DH at this point. >> Yeah. >> Um I mean because they have a great second baseman, but um yeah, I saw some stuff on the Mets. That’s kind of what his market is. And then maybe some some unknown teams that that we haven’t thought about yet, but I don’t think they’re paying at the top of it. So if Kyle Tucker goes somewhere else, I think Bobette is desk like in the best spot to make the most money and it’s from the Blue Jays. Because if if they whiff on Tucker, then it’ be like, “Okay, we need they will they need to upgrade one bat still.” Like, you’re right. If it’s either one of them, it makes the team as good on paper like in our minds as as the last year, right? >> And I think you need that. So, if Tucker goes somewhere else, I think it’s a perfect setup for Bo to make uh good money from the Blue Jays. >> Yeah. And Bo will and Bo’s agent will be licking his chops if Tucker signs offro be like, “Well, you kind of need him more than he needs you.” >> Correct. >> Right. Like, >> you kind of need Bo more than Bo needs you. And it I think if I’m Bob Bashett’s agent, I’m like, “Please, Kyle Tucker, sign with like the Dodgers or some [ __ ] cuz then ownership with the Blue Jays would be like, “What the [ __ ] We lost another guy to the Dodgers.” >> Yeah. And it’s like, “We can’t do this.” So, we need Bo back. And everyone will be happy for the reunion. And then I think Bo makes makes some good money. There’s there’s no way he signs before Tucker in my opinion. >> No, no chance. I think if he does, it’s because he got crazy overpaid and it’s like, listen, you’re gonna have to take this. Like I I I know I don’t know if you want to play here or not, but you’re going to have to take this. That’s really what it’s that’s the that’s what it’s going to boil down to. Um but >> the do the Dodgers could kind of use Bo, too, right? >> Yeah. They don’t have a second baseman. you know, they’re not going to play uh I don’t know if they have He Kim. They have him as their as the second baseman right now. >> Yeah. And I don’t think he’s that crazy. >> No, it would be interesting uh to see what he’s he’s doing too. Some >> So Bo on the Bo on the Dodgers, that team is instantly like the greatest team formed ever. >> Yeah. And totally crazy that um the report finally came out from Bo. He’s like, “Yeah, he’s willing to play second base.” >> You think? >> We know that. It’s like >> I actually saw I they were talking about it on Talking Yanks. Actually, this clip popped up because a Yankee fan quote it and uh it was like uh Jake was uh saying Bo has an awesome arm. He has awesome range. He could play short instead of OP. And then someone quote tweeted it with his metrics and he’s like bottom five percentile in both aspects of the game um for arm and uh range. But uh I I I do think Bobette will be a Blue Jay ultimate at the end of the day and we’ll do this entire charade with Tucker and it just won’t happen. It’ll just be Bobette. I really do. >> Yeah. Tucker goes somewhere else and Bo comes back. >> Yeah. I think that’s just what we’re going to do this entire charade thing and it’s just going to be like oh Bobett’s back and we’re essentially running back the entire same offense with uh a better pitching staff obviously um with guys like that >> which I’m cool with. >> Yeah, I’m cool with that too. I mean, I think the bullpen isn’t that isn’t bad either, right? I mean, I think Hoffman, the fly ball home run thing will get at least >> fixed a little bit or hopefully it will. I’m not sure. >> It’s going to be and I will say >> next year is going to be seeing how Jeff Hoffman >> is mentally, right? I mean, gave up a game-winning home run or a game tie home run in the World Series. Like, how do you bounce back from that, man? uh essentially and he even said himself he costed the team a World Series. I don’t think that because he was the reason they were there. He was insane. He’s given he gave up one run the entire or two runs the entire postseason. So I’m not going to put the entire blame on Jeff Hoffman. If you do, you’re insane. But um it’s going to see how he bounces back. I think the addition of Tyler Rogers is awesome. A full year of Louis V is going to be awesome. >> Uh Braden Fischer took a massive step next year. This isn’t a bad bullpen as it is constructed right now. I really I I don’t think so. I really don’t. >> Yeah, you’re right. I I would love to see um like the Spencer Miles thing. Like is that going to work out too? I like taking some flyers where like CB talked about last week, you can just send it back if it doesn’t work out. Like that’s >> as as much of a And they also signed that other guy, too. I didn’t read anything into that. >> The Red Sox guy. >> Yeah. I mean, yeah, he can’t throw a strike to save his life. >> Yeah, he throws gas, but just doesn’t know where it’s going. and maybe somehow someway that gets closer to the zone than it was before, but I mean I’m not I’m not thinking it’s going to come out of uh come out of anywhere. But yeah, yeah, just a couple guy. And then Chase Lee, too. He got I only remember him giving up three homers to the Jays that one game. So like I don’t have any expectations. >> I mean, he got pumped by the Jays. Like >> that’s awesome. >> I’ll never forget that game. That series against the Tigers last year >> [ __ ] rocked. They beat Scooble >> and then that Friday night game we streamed where Lopes, Davis, and Ernie hit a home run. That was awesome. And Lucas, >> um, that series was fun last year, man. That was when I was like, “All right, we got ourselves a [ __ ] squad.” >> And then they lost to Flareity on the Sunday, I think. Right. >> But they won three or four, I think it was. >> Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Cuz Yes, it was a Yeah, you’re you’re right about that. I think the bull’s in a fine spot. It’s just >> the only problem I have with a bullpen is, and I did see it on Twitter, we have potentially two long men. >> Eric Lowour and Jose Bereios. >> Yeah, we we were doing that a little bit of a talk last week, too. You you can’t have those two as long men. Like, you can’t have two long men in the pen. >> Yeah. So, what are they going to do? like having two long men in the bullpen is like for example, it’s when you say if you have two good goalies or two good quarterbacks, you have none. You know, that’s really what it is. But I I really don’t know what they’re going to do with Jose Burios. And since the last time you and I talked, more stuff kind of came out about it because of the Ross Atkins quotes about like Jose Brios, it was kind of his choice. Wasn’t really a family thing. Um, if it was a family thing, I mean, again, I hope everything’s okay, obviously. But the Jose Brios thing, very, it rubbed me the wrong way as fans. I don’t know if it rubbed the people in the locker room as much the wrong way as it did to us, right? I I really don’t think it affected them. They don’t really care if a guy’s in the [ __ ] locker room. Again, it sucks, right? The guy’s posting uh on his Instagram story travel ball teams in in Puerto Rico, like his his kids team, and not posting about his team one win away from a World Series. I mean, that definitely sucks. But again, it it’s no one else’s fault, Jose Burio, besides you, dude. Like, that’s really what it was at the end of the day. Like, you were the reason you lost your spot. And I I I love Whit Mayfield. Whit came out with a quote when the move happened and was like, I trust Burrios over Treya Savage. That’s what he said. He’s like, Brios has done it. Trey Savage hasn’t. Well, I’m glad they had John Schneider in company making those decisions because Treya Savage was [ __ ] insane in the playoffs. So, um, and Brios would have been rocket man in the playoffs. So, >> yeah, that that’s just the old school mentality like you you’ve been around and they they don’t treat the guys that that was kind of like when Whit was leaving too, right? He’s like, “Oh, they’re not no one’s giving me the contracts, too.” He probably walked it back by then. like he he definitely walked back that take at some point, but I’m not listening to any of that stuff. But like at at that point, it’s like, yeah, these guys have gotten you there. They the guy the guys who have played obviously want to preach loyalty and they feel like they get [ __ ] over when teams aren’t loyal to them, but like fans on the outside feel that different way. So I totally understand where a guy like Wit’s coming from. >> Yeah, cuz he’s done it and he’s played with Bereios and he knows him personally and all that type of stuff. Exactly. >> It doesn’t make sense, but >> that’s just not how things work. Like if if major league baseball teams ran on loyalty, there’d be a lot of really, really, really bad baseball teams out there. You have to be willing to just not cut ties, but make the smarter executive decision. And that’s why guys are in management like that making those moves. And Trey Savage is awesome and he was awesome. What is kind of your expectations for Trey Savage next year? like a full season coming off of a season where he pitched the most innings of his life, probably doubled or tripled it. Um, do you think the fans should have a little bit more of a tempered expectation with Treya Savage, like the learning curves, cuz he didn’t really get a chance to have learning curves last year? >> No, he was he was pushing I’m not like I’m not one to you should be voting him um rookie of the year. Like I’m not one to to do that. I think we all we will get some ups and downs with Trey, which is totally to be expected. I don’t I I don’t think this like catapults him into this whole next category, but like he’s our top pitching prospect for a reason. I think I think we’ll get some >> definitely um some ups and downs for this season, but like a year where he throws 130 innings, like I I don’t think we’re going to get this massive massive workload, right? like we can pencil him in for 130. He’s like maybe a little volatile erra stuff, but he’s striking out the world. Like I can believe in that at the major league level. I can believe that he’s going to get tons of swinging miss. So like say it’s like 39 erra from Trey over 130 and he’s just like an awesome strikeout guy. >> Yeah. And that’s what a team needs, right? Like I mean we don’t need him to be the ace right now. He’s still a young gun. It’s going to be his first full season, right? Like I think here’s a question for you. Who has a lower ERA next year? Treya Savage or Cody Pon? >> Oh, I’ll go I’ll go Pants for it. RA is just a tough one too for him because I don’t know how. Yeah, >> because that’s a guy that’s older, more polished. Um has pitched in the big leagues. I’ll say 50 innings. So, it’s nothing really crazy about it, but like I really don’t know. And that’s a good Fetty was really good his first year back, right? >> Yeah. >> So, I think we kind of get I think we get a good Cody Ponier, too. I think it’ll be kind of sim in the similar range, to be honest. Like, if if you put them between 37 and 39, I think I’d be >> And that’s a good rotation. Those are two guys. I’m not going to say back end of the rotation guys, but if Cody Pon and Trey Savage have 37 to 39 RAS, you’re in an awesome spot. >> You’re in a really good spot. Yeah. So Fetty first year back 330 erra. >> Holy [ __ ] >> Yeah. Like dude, you would take that absolutely immediately. He’s three 3.4 wins. Yeah. It’s like I don’t know if we can pencil him in for that. But like a 36, you’re you’re fine with that. >> That’s a better spot than what the rotation was last year. >> Yeah. So look, it will be different, but let’s just look what they had last year. We had Basset 396 of 170 innings. >> Yeah, >> that’s helpful. That’s super helpful. Like, >> yeah, >> you take that. >> And that’s another innings eater. >> Yeah, you you take that. Well, Pon also So, like talking about everyone else in the rotation throwing the most, I’m pretty sure he had to have thrown the most innings of his life, too. >> Yeah. Yeah. I mean, he pitched in the minors a lot, though, with that that year. So based on um he’s he had thrown more than 100 innings twice in his minor league career. The last time was 2017. >> Holy [ __ ] >> And then he threw 180 innings this year. >> Oh my god. That’s a lot. It >> is a lot. So that’s another guy is like Yeah, we’re talking about Kevin Gosman throwing all these innings and then Pon’s kind of did kind of did the same thing too. Um, yeah. So, 180, which is close to what Basset was as well. So, let’s see. Man, I I do like the fact that it’s a little bit different. It’s not totally running back the whole team. I know we talked about Bo doing it, but like, yeah, Dylan’s awesome [ __ ] guy to put in this rotation. And I I saw people saying like, “You need Sherzer back, too.” I think we’ve done this on this. I don’t remember. Like, we got out of Sherzer what we needed from him. He’s not coming back. like let him let him be somewhere else and let him uh see what he can do. We we got everything we needed out of Max last year. So, we don’t want to be stuck on him for a year. >> And I did want to talk about this because and we will clip this and I because I do get we do get tons of comments about this. So, the Toronto Blue Jays talk like the fans talk about Toronto Blue Jays aren’t left-handed enough in that starting rotation. And I have some stats, Johnny stats to back this up. This these are some of the guys last year in the Blue Jays rotation against left-handed hitters. Kevin Gossman 194 opponent average 0.95 whip.95 home run per nine 372 RA not bad. Treya Savage albe it this is a small sample size 161 opponent average one whip 11k per n two RA against lefties. These are all against lefties obviously. Shane Bieber 156 opponent average 68 whip.82 home run per nine.82 erra. So the the uh this is like a it’s like a caveman argument, right? The old heads look at it and they say, “Oh, you need a lefty in there. You need two lefties in there.” Whatever. This is a team that the way their pitch shapes are and the way they throw the ball, they get left-handed guys out no matter what. So to make the argument that they need left-handed guy, they kind of essentially do have it with the way that these guys throw splitters against left-handed bats. So I’m pushing back on this lack of left-handed pitching type of stuff for the Toronto Blue Jay. For the bullpen, do you need it? Probably. Yeah. I Mason Flu Hardy is awesome, though. Brennan Little was awesome until the All-Star break and then you got Eric Lowour in that pen, right? So there is some left-handed options out of that bullpen. But for the starting rotation, I just can’t really agree with people saying they’re not left-handed enough. I can’t based off of the pitching styles. >> Yeah. And Eric Lowour was worse against lefties than he was against righties. >> Yeah. >> So, you’re the numbers tell can tell a story, right? It’s just not It would be nice to have a guy who kills lefties who is also left-handed, but if he if he get it’s just like you’re thinking Yankees at that point as these left-handed and I guess some of the new the new Red Sox guys who who are coming up like the the Meyers and Anony’s, they’re left-handed. I think that’s really what you’re thinking. Like the O’s can get can swing it both ways pretty good. Like I remember Adley his his one side he crushes lefties compared to righties and I think you can get an awesome super right-handed lineup for the O’s the Rays I don’t know who’s playing for them anymore at this point they’re just making all those moves um having some fun right before the holidays but yeah you think you need lefties I guess weighted on base average and slug uh righties were better than lefties for lower but yeah it’s it is a good old head take that uh that even ys will say from time to time he’s like, “Man, it would be cool to have like a goated lefty there.” And I think we all agree with that. But you’re right, the way they throw the splitter and that’s why you had you brought like Sandlin in. You brought Eric Swanson in those years, right? Cuz you they value that and they know that the split can work to those lefties. Um, so yeah, you just use >> and they can’t hit Tyler Rogers either. That dude is nasty. Yeah, I think that’s such a fun move because they obviously tried they’ve tried to have that slot three times now or like a rendition kind of that slot. So they they see value in it. Simbber Sandlin was a little was way more over the top than both of them but like still a little sidearm funk. Um and then you you sign Rogers so so they see the value in it which is >> Yeah. And this is like those guys on crack. Like Tyler Rogers is the best sidearm pitcher in baseball. Yeah, no one’s really close to doing what he’s doing anymore. Yeah, subby. Um, totally underhand. So, it I do think it’s a fun move at least. Um, >> yeah. >> What do you think’s going to happen? What are we going to get a fun different rumor at any point this off season? >> I don’t think so, man. I really don’t. But going back to Tyler Rogers, I had some big leaguers like text me and reach out to me and be like, “Uh, dude, you guys got like this guy’s nasty.” like guys that face him, guys that played with him. Uh Tyler Bey, who I haven’t talked to in a while, Young Bea uh texted me and goes, “Man, I know Troj and it’s maybe we’ll get him on the pod, but he’s like, “This guy’s nasty.” Like you this guy is nasty. Like unhitable nasty. So anytime you get big leaguers reaching out to you about guys like that seems like a pretty good move to me. And Ross the boss loves that [ __ ] Loves the little funky stuff. But, um, speaking about Cody Pon as well, um, I know we’ve gotten, like I said, I have his number and I’ve been texting him. I’m not going to [ __ ] chase this guy to come in the pod. Um, he’s doing this whole little media tour. >> He’s going on foul territory, all this type of stuff. >> He keeps telling me like, “Yeah, I’ll do it this day, this day, then just never text me back.” I I’m not going to [ __ ] chase Cody Pon. Sorry. Like, again, that’s really not that’s I’m not going to triple text. I’m not going to keep following up. If he wants to come on the podcast, he wants to come on the podcast. That’s where I’m at with He’s doing the big media tour. He’s not He’s not thinking about the little guy. >> Yeah. Like he’s doing Baseball’s Dead, which is awesome. He’s doing that type of stuff. I’m not going to go around and [ __ ] chase this guy. So, if he wants to come on, he can come on the pod. >> Open invitation. >> We’ve had the president of the the team who was easier to get on the podcast than [ __ ] Cody Pon. Uh we’ve had the manager on the team. So, if he wants to come on, we’ll I’ll I’d love to have a conversation with the guy. I really would. I have his number. Like I said, I text him. He keeps saying like Wednesday, Type of stuff, and it never happens. So, I I’m just again I’m not going to >> I hope he’s getting ready for the season. >> Yeah. You know, >> by doing media tour stuff, but whatever. Um, speaking about that, since the last time we talked as well, uh, Mark Shapyro extension, what a guy. What a guy. I texted him right when it happened. Like legit, right when the moment happened, I go, I went five more years. Let’s [ __ ] go. Man in the arena. Job’s not finished. And within a minute, he texted me back and goes, he goes, “Let’s go, Johnny.” Like, fired up. Um, man in the arena. He’s like, “Job is never finished, by the And I’m like, that’s our [ __ ] guy, uh, Mark Shapyro. So happy for him. Welld deserving. I mean, the Roger Center looks way better than it looked like when he got here. Um, the team looks way better than when he got here. And, uh, the the again, you can make a case that the the culture is because of the higher-ups, right? I mean, the the culture is awesome for the team. The employees rock, and uh, it’s just it’s awesome to see it. And I’m in talks with the Blue Jays about a gate 14 night. Um I have a meeting with them next week. So we’ll get that earlier than we had it last year. But um gate 14 night. Let’s sell out [ __ ] four sections this year. Let’s get crazy. Um but yeah, they obviously love it. I mean it puts asses in seats >> for a midweek midweek uh midweek summer game. I mean they wouldn’t have had any problem selling those tickets when they realized the team was as good as they were. But >> yeah, >> again. Um, no, that was awesome. Cool that we get to do that again. And I don’t think we’ll ever recreate the moment that happened 2025. Yeah. >> Um, gate 14 night at the ballpark. Uh, cuz that was really special. But I think next next week, John, we’re going to do a year and review. >> Um, >> I’m going to go through and find some of the ridiculous [ __ ] that happened um during the season. Kind of if nothing no big news happened, that’s what I’ll do. Um, next week we’re not gonna take a break, right? We’ll do it next week. >> Yeah. No, no. And I know, dude, we’ve gotten a million tweets and stuff like that about the GE 14 awards. Um, I’m thinking about doing them o OG style, >> trying to minimize how many players are on it, just just you and I getting like some funny cameos from people. Um, because we should do it. Again, I I’m pushing back on the production of it because we do have, like I mentioned, I talked about on Twitter, the Vlatty Pod, which is obviously a more important thing than the Gate 14 Awards. Like, we have we’re going to have to have a produ a production crew for that. Um, get that hammered out, do a vlog for that as well. Um, so that’s obviously the top of the priority thing and that’ll be happening in the new year. So, I’ve been in contact with him and his people. Um, so that’ll probably happen. I’m aiming second week of se of of January, go down there during the week, go to Tampa and hang out with Vlatty and uh hammer that podcast out. But that’ll break the internet. And I’m not one again, if you want to be cocky, many may say we have the biggest podcast in Blue Jay’s history in terms of the Mark Shapyro interview and the John Schneider. No, no two Blue Jays podcasts ever, no two Blue Jays interviews ever has those numbers that those podcasts do. And let’s [ __ ] it. Let’s go three for three with the Vladimir Gro Jr. one. I mean, that one’s going to do ridiculous numbers. But, um, yeah, I’m excited to talk to Vlad, man. And, uh, awesome guy. Embrace the city and he’s going to be here forever. So, that’s a good guy to have in your back pocket. Um, in terms of like, uh, being a gate 14 guy. So, and Pla Placet’s a place I want to do this [ __ ] for the next 15 [ __ ] years, man. I think that’ll be awesome to have like a yearly thing where all of our listeners gather and do um and do a a little Gate 14 night with the people with the shirts, the the signs. I think that was one of the craziest things we did last year. First pitch obviously was up there, but the gate 14 night was awesome. Was that was so fun. >> It so it’s cool having like followers on It’s cool having followers on socials, right? But >> yeah, >> when you can get actual people there to show up and >> having some pull and like real obviously you don’t have a ton of pull, but like getting people to show up to a place, I think that’s way cooler than like any followers, any amount of likes or views you’ll get online. Like getting real people to show up and spend their money, I think is shows what kind of influence you have. So, I know they’re not they weren’t paying us. They were paying a ticket for a shirt and to watch the game, but like to get people to come out and do that, I think really was kind of the the coolest moment of the year. >> And it ended up being an awesome game. Like it was Jay’s Cubs, like two of the best teams in the league at that point. Like the Cubs were awesome. >> Yeah. >> Uh Cubs made the playoffs. They made the division series. So, um that ended up being >> The game was awesome. >> Yeah, we had the Ernie home run. The Jays won. I think Bereos pitched again for that game. Um that that was awesome. That was absolutely awesome. But uh yeah, I I I don’t really know what else there is to talk about, man. There’s we are in a slow slow news part of the year and and like I don’t think moves will happen this week unless Ross the Boss drops a nuke on Christmas Eve. But I will say I do think Bobette will be signed before the second week of January. That’s when his wedding is or his third week of January. >> Okay. I do. I’m going to come out on a limb and say he signs before his wedding date. >> Dude, what if he does like a gender reveal at his wedding? Yeah, but it’s what team he uh what team he’s signing with. >> It would be a little awkward to be honest. >> Bo hits a backside grounder um for Blue Jays Blue and he reveals that he is going to be a Blue Jay. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Dude, we’re in a slow time. I don’t know what the Okay, we could do some Bregman talk. I think it’s Smoke again. He makes sense, but there’s >> I think the Alex Bregman thing is Boris is saying, “All right, this market’s a little slow. Let’s just throw in the [ __ ] Blue Jays humiliation ritual.” That’s what I think it is. At least that’s where I’m at with it. >> Okay. I don’t think it’s Blue Jay’s humiliation ritual. I think it’s everyone seeing like after a good year, oh, the Blue Jays are in on Bregman. I mean, you shouldn’t be It shouldn’t be news. >> Well, that pushes the Red Sox, right? >> Yeah. Well, >> just like the Red Sox were pushing us with the with the Bobette stuff. >> Correct. It’s who’s going to force other teams to make moves. And >> yeah, >> you know what? The Catel Marte thing, interesting. Um, apparently they’re asking for a ton, which you should on that team friendly contract. Like anyone would be willing to take that money, I think, uh, >> for sure >> with Marte. So, >> yeah. surprised that the Red Sox didn’t get it done when it was super hot a couple weeks ago. >> Let’s see what they Let’s see what they end up doing with with this whole Marte thing. Uh do you any thoughts on the Rays Orioles moves? >> I the Dude, the Orioles taking a flyer essentially on Shane Baz. I I think people are overhyping Shane Baz, Boss, or whatever the [ __ ] his name is. Is that a hot Is that a hater take for me to have a >> no because sometimes you just have to like actually pitch well like over a long period of time to get the value of those guys. But if he So like it’s a crazy thing. He made 31 starts last year which >> but he was bad. That was his first full year not injured and he was bad. >> Yeah. The expected numbers are good. Like two- win player. >> Really? >> Yeah. Two win player RA of 487 expected RA of 385. like he wasn’t pitching in a pitcher friendly park. That’s for sure. Um >> he was really good on the road. I saw I saw that that >> So yeah, you have to hope that uh away 386 erra home 59 RA. >> Holy [ __ ] >> And we know that was a tough park uh to pitch in. So taking a flyer on that too. I think it’s cool. Like he does have good stuff. >> And yeah, they gave up a lot for him. So they clearly see a lot. >> They did give up a lot for him. That is true. Like how much time? >> So he’s not even >> um So he’s ARB eligible this year. >> They’re just giving up like him and Taj Bradley like right before they even get to ARB. Yeah. >> Um get rid of those guys. Funny Ray’s way of doing it. I think >> I mean I think he’s a three three five erra guy. Like at least I think he’s going to have a good year. >> But if he’s that only the only move they make for that rotation. I know they’re in the market for other guys. That team still doesn’t scare me. That that pitching rotation and that bullpen is free eats. >> Yeah. Yeah. The bullpen is interesting, too. But they they put together some names that aren’t like the sexiest, but like Kyle Bradish is a good pitcher. Trevor Ro Trevor Rogers had an insane year. Again, Dean Kramer put together a good year last year. And then you have Bos. And if you get Framber, that’s like a serviceable >> that’s a good rotation. It’s a serviceable rotation over 162 and you have >> and you have good guys like three as of right now you’d have three solid guys for the playoffs and if if they make the playoffs obviously like Rogers, Bradish, Bos if he’s healthy and like the stuff’s playing as it should. Um and then yeah, whoever they get who’s extra. I like the way it’s shaping up for them. I like the way it’s shaping up. >> Yeah, I think they’re going to be fine. They’re like an obvious bounceback team just like the Jays were last year. Yeah. >> What do you think their win total will be next year? Like uh betting wise? >> Oh, like they’ll because the Jays caught the books with their pants down last year. >> I think I think they’ll be like 83 and a half. >> I was going to say 86 and a half. >> Whoa. Okay, nice. I think we can look at it right now. I’ll try and find >> No, they don’t have it up. >> Really? >> Yeah. The wind totals don’t drop till uh after the new year, >> man. I swear we were doing win total stuff early last year. >> No, I don’t think so. >> Okay. Yeah. No, we were definitely doing it early last year. >> Yeah, but at least I I don’t know. I I know major a lot of books don’t have it as of right now. >> Okay. I’m on I’m on betting pros here. They got they got some here. They got like Caesars is is running this. Okay. >> 2026 win totals. The Baltimore Orioles. Oh my god, this is impossible to load. It’s not even 85 and a half. >> Okay, I was right there. Credit to me. >> It opened at 77 and a half. >> No way. >> Yeah. So, it’s a >> Holy [ __ ] >> It’s a ready at 85 and a half. You know what the Jay’s is? >> What? >> Take a guess. You’re >> 89 >> 91 and a half. >> OH MY GOD. >> 91 and a half win. >> And that’s without Bo or Tucker. Yeah, that right now opened at 91 and a half. Um, >> are you serious? >> Yeah. >> Holy [ __ ] >> Caesars is the only one given these these odds, but like the Yankees 93 and a half right now. Red Sox 87 and a half. Baltimore 85 a 12. Tampa 77 and a half. >> 77 and a half. >> Yeah, >> for Tampa. >> Can you see a world they get Marte? I think so. with all that prospect capital they have now, >> dude. They could just almost they could almost just turn over their return from Bos and just like take a couple of those guys. Like I like Bodine um as a catcher. He’s like this super zone contact guy. He was at Coastal Carolina who was really good and they took him just Yeah. flipped some of those guys. Um the Rockies 54 and a half win total. >> Oh my god. >> That’s it. Yeah. But just like >> is it crazy to say Avery I like not to be a hater but the Jay’s under >> if I was like in my mind things have to go >> how many wins did they have last year? >> 94. >> Okay. I mean 91 and a half is a lot. 91 and a half. I want >> a lot. >> I want them to go over again. But just like last year >> we’re getting the Yankees fans values though. You know, like the Yankees Yankees had they’re they’re still up there as well. >> It’s true. >> They haven’t made any moves. >> Fellas was a Yankee, >> dude. Do they are they actually not going to spend money? Like that’s >> I my World Series, not to go Yankee talk where they’re like, “Oh, this is your World Series.” My World Series is them not landing Emi. >> Yeah, >> that I mean that would be awesome cuz that’s who their entire fan base is talking themselves into. through this offseason. It’s like signi. >> Yeah. I mean, I would rock with the Yankees under wins at this point, too. Like, >> yeah. What is it? >> 93 and a half. >> Holy [ __ ] >> Yeah. And they haven’t made any moves. And like Rodon and Cole aren’t guaranteed back at the start of the season. Maybe they’re pushed back, too. >> Same with Clark Schmidt. >> Yeah. I mean, that’s that’s like things need to go great for them >> and they haven’t made too many uh different moves. Um Oh, I just had a good thing that I wanted to talk to you about. I’ll try and I’ll remember that at some point. >> I can’t believe the Jays is 91 and a half. That’s crazy. When was the last time it was that? Four years ago? Three years ago? >> I wonder what it was. >> 21. It had to be high. >> Or 22. >> 22. They were the darling. Everyone was talking about Jay Sleeper World Series. I think they were one of the favorites actually to win the World Series that year. >> Yeah. Let’s go. 20 22 MLB win totals. >> It might just show you like what teams actually won. Unfortunately for >> I know that’s what I tried to do uh books that way. >> Yeah. >> Win totals tracker. >> Toronto Blue Jays 91 and a half. >> Okay. So it’s was 2022 is that? >> Yeah. >> Okay. By the way, congratulations to Spencer and Myrr on their engagement. Our two good friends. >> Goed. >> Myrrh has same amount of rings and judge. I tweeted in the comments, but congratulations to them too. Um that’s awesome for them. Um, they met through Blue Jay’s Twitter. So, >> never give up. >> Anyone can do it, man. >> Never give up, burners. Never give up. Um, >> Twitter is a dating app. >> Yep. Let’s go on to listener questions. >> Okay, I got to got to head this. I can’t believe I forgot what I was going to say. It was [ __ ] good, too. >> Losing it. Getting too old, man. Okay. >> Co brain. Yeah, long co. Um, okay. I’m locked in finally. Uh, which former Blue Jay, if any, will have a comeback season next year? Is that Am I reading that correct? That’s what it says. >> Like, what do you mean? Like, uh, >> I don’t know. I mean, >> I don’t know if that means they want them to come back and be a Blue Jay. I don’t know. I have no idea what that question’s asking. >> I don’t know. >> Let’s just go with uh Reese McGuire. Bounce back. >> He doesn’t have a job right now, does he? >> Yeah, he’s jobless. >> Oh, man. >> Hate to see it. Sick. Um, do you, this is a really good question. Number one Bison’s fan um, asked this question. Do you think the Blue Jays have the best farm system because how many call-ups we had this year? >> It’s a great question. That is a great question that um, you know what? Yeah. Yeah, they do. >> Yeah, I I like that. >> Yeah, they do, actually. >> Yeah. Yeah. How would you feel if we sign Bo to a long-term deal and he is starting at shorts up on opening day and what if they choose to ignore the second base conversation? >> I would. >> Is am I a hater to say I hate that? Just put him at second. >> Yeah, I think it makes >> like we’ve had a taste of Jimenez, you know, and Jimenez was awesome at short. >> Yep. Like I I would accept it, but it would have to be like Jimenez was hurt or something or it’s >> I think Bose’s fine was second if he gets paid. He doesn’t give a [ __ ] >> He should be Yeah, he should be pumped about that probably. Well, not that he was diving everywhere and like it’s a long season. Keep the body fresh thing at second base. >> Um with the Yankees looking like they have small smaller pocket. Okay, found remembered it. I remembered it now. Um my favorite thing in the world is um the Yankees and the Mets getting mad that they’re taking each other’s players. >> Oh, it’s so sick. >> How funny. How funny is it? >> I need I need the Mets bullpen next year to be sick. Like Luke Weaver to go back to his Mariano Rivera days. >> Yeah. >> I need Luke Yeah. Luke Weaver to be nasty. Devin Williams to go back to his Brewers days. Oh, Avery, that would be that would be beautiful. Just Luke Weaver and Devin Williams carve for the New York Mets next year. That would be unbelievable. It really would be. >> I My thing is is the Yankees fans push these guys out of town, right? >> And then they they they they wonder why they >> Well, the thing is these are good players usually. >> Yeah. Like Luke Weaver, aside from what we say about him, >> Yeah. >> which is that he’s a he sucks against the Jays, he is he was good. >> I would have taken him as a I would have loved him in the Blue Jays pen. There was an injury um Jolly Olive did pre-injjury, post injury last year for Weaver >> and it was like he was as great as he was in 2024 pre-injjury and post injury at a six RA. >> Yeah. >> It’s like these are good players. Why are you try and keep these good players if you guys are like this great franchise, but it’s like, okay, I know watching them and looking at numbers is two totally different things. Like, I bet there’s some tweets out there Brendan Little like a guy that they should acquire. People are putting that out there in the universe. Yeah, the numbers were fantastic and the swinging miss is top-notch. People would take him. >> Yeah, >> I saw some Justin Brule threads on Twitter. >> He got DFAD. >> I know. Oh, and it’s just like, oh, you guys let Cleveland get another low slot, high something guy. Yeah, he’s got DF8 again. It’s like sometimes you watching them tells different story. And Justin Brule’s numbers definitely weren’t good, too. But it’s like I I know I watched Justin Bul pitch at like 89. Like I don’t know if it’s going to shake out to be great for Justin day, you could talk yourself into anyone. That’s what Yeah, >> absolutely. And that’s what’s the fun in being a fan, I think. >> Yeah. >> Like and transaction time. It’s like, you know what, >> there’s a couple things that are all right. If he uh if we figure something out um that we’ve never seen from this guy before, he could be good. And >> sure, >> there’s some fun in that. But I do like the the Yankees is is John Boy. I mean, obviously they they get big reach, so you see their stuff on on socials, but them being mad that the Mets are taking their players when they’re just free agents. It’s like, yeah, it’s a good place to play baseball. And like they talked down about Klay Holmes. Like Klay Holmes was good last year. >> Yeah. >> Klay Holmes was a was a fine fine starter to do that transition like >> Yeah. >> And if they had enough starters and they could just move Klay Holmes back to the pen, they could be they could be dynamite back there >> for sure. >> But I do think it’s really really good. Um good for the Mets just continuing to do it. Who cares? These are good players. Keep taking >> We’re gonna acquire Yeah. Take all the good guys. >> Sign David Bedar next year. pocket. >> Yes, absolutely. Do that. Um, with the Yankees looking like they have smaller pockets this year, does the resigning of Paul Blackburn take them out of Tucker Bo Bellinger? >> It just might. It just might. They got their guy Paul Blackburn. >> Hefty price tag. >> By the way, former Matt that the Yankees have now. Whatever. >> It’s just like why why should you care about that? >> Yeah. >> Either sign him or >> a lot of people played for the Yankees unfortunately. That’s just really what it is. So that’s what’s going to happen. >> And you guys lose all the time. So you like you’re not winning World Series right now. So >> you hate all the players and now they go to the Mets. It’s like, oh, I wonder why. >> Um, Neil asked a good question I would like you to answer. >> Why trade a player for cash? They certainly don’t need the money. And how do you monetize the value of a player? This one’s for you. I like, okay, first of all, you trade a player for cash when it’s at the end of the day, it’s like when you throw something on Facebook Marketplace and it’s like, I’ll just take [ __ ] anything at this point, you know? Um, that’s really what that is. And I think the monetary value is you just essentially pay what you think the player is worth. For Justin Bulle, I’d probably put him in like the $20,000 range in terms of like that what this guy’s worth. Um, and that’s really what it is. I I I don’t I think it’s like it just adds to the cash pool for Rogers. And if you could get actual ass an asset, which is money, back for a player that you have no use for, you just do it at the end of the day. But I I really don’t know how they calculate the money aspect of it. I really don’t. >> That’s good. The Facebook marketplace thing is great because usually >> it’s just like a like, >> hey, I’m going to Yeah, I’m going to throw this out if no one pays money for it. >> Exactly. And they were going to throw Justin Brule out. Not a slight. That’s just what it is. And it ended up working out. They got money and then he got DFA >> it was funny that they DFA uh John Kzie Noel for Justin Brew. Like that that transaction hitting the timeline in that graphic was very funny. Like >> yeah, >> I I had a good laugh at that one. >> That was a good one. >> Do we think Santandere is hitting at least 20 home runs? >> Oh yeah. I’m going to put him in for 25. And people talk about this Blue Jays lineup like regressing which again there’s no metrics to prove that but um they talk about the regression thing. How about uh positive regression for Anthony Santander? Ever think about that? I mean it’s impossible. This is a guy that was one year removed from 44 home runs. Albeit. Do I think he’s a 44 home run guy? No, I don’t think he’s that. But he’s hit 30. He’s at 35. He’s at 28. Like, you could pencil the guy in fully healthy to at least contribute something to that aspect. And I think that’s what he’s going to do next year. I really do. >> I’m I’m in for 30. >> Oh, that would rock cuz that would also make up for the George Springer evident rede uh uh regression, right, >> dude? I’m I’m in on Son. I there’s no more obvious candidate that you want to be in on than Santandere, I think. Uh yeah, just for a bounceback cuz everyone else had these these great years, right? >> Yeah. >> Um >> yeah, I would love to see that, man. Please. Like I need to know his shoulder is like fully healthy and we’re not >> we’re not staring down um a possible surgery. But uh dude, I’m I’m looking at the 2022 through 2024 numbers for Anthony Santandere and I’m just like just give me that man. Obviously you’d won 33 homers, 28 homers, 44 homers. >> Like this is a guy who can do it and he did it in the AL East, man. It’s not like it’s some sort of central merchant. No, >> he’s done it in this in this division. >> 2.3 wins, 2.5, 3.2 wins. >> Yeah. And then negative.9 negative a win. >> Pretty good. >> It’s it’s it’s too it’s too obvious as long as he’s healthy. >> Yeah. >> To me. Um >> what do you think about Ross the Boss trading burri and cash for prospects? Oh, sorry. Trading Burios and Cash or prospects to the Cardinals for Nolan Aronado and Jojo Romero. >> The Jays do not need Nolan Aronado. Ernie Clement is significantly better than Nolan Aronado. I I hate to break it to you, man. I really do. >> I haven’t looked at >> Nolan Aronado. >> I mean, the Cardinals can’t want um they can’t want Bereos like where they’re at right now. >> No, >> I don’t think >> that would make sense. I do like Jo What’s Jojo? What’s his name? Jojo >> Romero. >> I do like Jojo Romero, though. He’s awesome. >> Yeah, good lefty in the pen, too. >> He’s an awesome player. Really awesome player. He walks a lot of guys for for someone with that low of an erra. >> Yeah, it’s fair. >> Does he do that every year? Yeah. No. Wow. Wow. Outlier year totally. And he he went from a 15.4% home run to fly ball rate to four. >> Holy [ __ ] >> Yeah. I mean, that is Christ. >> And he doubled his walk rate and dropped his erra by two. That’s an That’s an interesting looking year for him. I like that. That’s weird, but I like it a lot. Um, yeah. I don’t think Aronado makes much much sense. Like maybe last year I would have thought about it, but >> you had like the uncertain not I wouldn’t say uncertainty, but like you didn’t know what Ernie was going to be, right? Like >> Yeah. Um, one song you’d listen to for the rest of your life. Uh huh. Devault Feels Like Us Probably. That’s I’ve been blasting that song like that one. >> Yeah, that song’s a banger. >> Beast of Burden Stones for like old school one. >> Okay. >> I think House Music song, >> relax my eyes. >> Yes. Yeah, >> I think that I think that >> another Yeah, >> I think that’ll just be a timeless classic. Um, then rap. If I had to choose, this is obviously a bad one. Need it. Migos Young Boy. I think just over an old 50 Centy. >> I love that song. >> That song’s a banger. That song is a banger. Yep. >> Um, thoughts on Jay’s prospect J.R. Frey making house music and when will one of his songs >> be his house? Yeah. Sends it to you. >> You sent me You sent me that. That’s pretty good. >> Yeah. >> If baseball doesn’t work out, he could pursue a house music type of thing. It’s a banger. >> Yeah. I mean, he he’s used to touring pretty much by bus. So, >> tell the people what the name of the song is so they can uh >> I don’t remember what the name of the song is. Just go on his Instagram. It’ll be there. Um I got a new phone, so it’s not showing up in It’s not showing up in what I looked. I’ll find it. I’ll find it. We’ll tag it at some point. >> Um if there was one reliever that you would willingly trade for, who would it be and why? I mean, obvious answer is Durant on the [ __ ] Phillies, but >> forgot he was with the Phillies, too. >> That Phillies bullpen’s fun. Brad Keller Durant. >> Nice. >> Pretty good. >> Um I mean, I would want Kade Smith. >> Oh, he’s sick. Oh, he’s awesome. >> I mean, he’s a clo he’s a closer and he’s Canadian. >> He’s awesome. >> Yeah. >> So awesome. >> That’s who I’d want. I do like having Canadian players on the Blue Jays. Like they don’t They don’t all have to be, but having one is is always fun. >> How can you not? >> I do like that. Uh, what do we think Tai France is up to? >> I actually don’t know. I just want a gold glove. >> Is he probably a Malfy Coast celebrating? >> Is he Is he a potential uh trying to think like what team he could play on like first base? I I don’t know where he would fit a hole in. Twins maybe bounce back or go back there. I don’t know. >> Go back home. >> Yeah. 1. I think the Blue Jays are getting used again, now Alex Bregman is being thrown into the Blue Jays conversation. I do want Bo back. If the Jays do get two of the three big dogs. It would be sad to see Ernie and Barger sitting on the bench. They have both earned an everyday spot.
