Hugo is one hell of a find
How did this guy get passed on by almost every NBA team in this yrs draft? TY!
Gonzalez doesn't show any lack of self-confidence. If he can develop consistency in his shooting he will be much more than a role player.
Thanks for the pod. Possibly slow your roll about Hugo. he's playing great, but early days. Spicy Chicken is a great nickname for him though
☘️☘️👊
I think when he plays some one on one with Tatum he’ll get significantly better at driving the basket. He is already good but what if he got great?
His ceiling is prime Marcus Smart on Ritalin
I agree with John, you know it when you see it, but you can't quite put it into words. Keep in mind that he just started getting NBA coaching. In a year, he'll be a beast. Not to mention he's got two of the hardest workers in the Js being his role models. Only injury can derail the Hugo train.
I want to add that its not only "developing with grown man". Its developing in the second best league in the world, in the best and biggest basketball club outside the NBA, with the very best pro players that arent at the NBA in this moment, and doing all that in Real Madrid, the biggest sport club in the world in general. Celtics are great and massive, but you cant even compare them.
Hugo is emerging like jt did while Kyrie and Gordon were hurt. We will loose a major contributing player of he continues to progress like this
Wait, I thought you said he needed to go to Maine..? It takes talent to recognize talent. It was obvious to Brad, and it should have been obvious here from Summer League.
Hugo can do some of the things Jrue Holiday provided the last few years
Hugo Gladiador González

Hugo gettem'
Ngl the insane overreaction is crazy 😂
Merry christmas John!
All. I want for christmas is an 8-game win streak for the Cs! lets go celtics!
Merry Christmas!
hello guys, I'm a Real Madrid fan ( more of a soccer fan than basketball but i follow all the section of the club) the scout part, Real Madrid does not focus only on Spain they do Scouts all Over Europa (of course I'm only talking about the basketball part BC the soccer is more global) Once they make the cut to the club they get their education from the club they got a city build for all the academy kids where they get education and training in their respective sport, if they made it to college age Real Madrid Also got a University if the kid got the Grades and want to follow a career they can, the reason you are seem a very and well-made player is very simple the club does everything in their power for success more in a NBA style than Europa (of course like all the cases for every athlete the rest is up to them) and Real Madrid got one of the Most NBA roster in Europa so those kids get to train with ex NBA players. the competitive aspect well as Real Madrid fan we like to call that DNA madridista 😅(winning is all that matter if you didn't win is Bc you didn't give it your all) the second interpretation is "to give it you're all until the last second of the game or never give up" that will depend in each player too and how hard are they on their self ( since Hugo is Spanish he most likely follow the first one the most) I'm not sure how big of a player he is going to be but I can be sure of one thing he is going to be a very profesional player and give it his all. well like i said before I'm not a basketball but i do follow some of our academy players like Hugo, Luka Doncic and Eli Ndiaye, so good luck to you guys in your season. 😁 (sorry if i made mistakes on my writing not my first language)
He's the next Derrick White for the Celtics
He was a STAR in ACB juniors. Win B2B ANGT titles in ‘23 & ‘24 – MVP.
Lotta great NBA players have platformed there – if your teams drafting Euro, always look at the full dev resume
Hugo reminds me of Marcus Smart. The leap that Marcus had in his 2nd and 3rd seasons, Hugo’s play reminds me of that. And he’s only 19. His game mirrors Celtics greats.
What first stood out to me was Hugo’s physique. He has an NBA-ready body at 19! One of the first things Stevens said about Walsh when he was drafted was how skinny he was. Hugo out the gate already looks like he can keep up physically.
John I have to say, I don't mind these conversations where we talk about someone's future (like Hugo) and you say something like his floor is Derrick White! While yes it could be absolutely ridiculous, it also is a good positive conversation. His future is unknown and having the conversation out loud is fun!!!
Happy happy joy joy Tom n John.💚☘☘☘
The NBA needs a second division, with promotion and relegation like in other leagues.
Do you remember Luka Dončić? Both came to NBA from the same team: Real Madrid
Happy Holidays Celtics Nation and Happy Holidays to my favorite NBA podcasters John Karalis and Tom Westerholm! 🎅🏽🥳💚☘️#19
Real Madrid is the new Duke: Hugo Gonzalez, Egor Demin, and of course Luka Doncic.
