Buffalo Sabres are currently projected to pick up 93 points after 82 games in the regular season based on the current points per game. Do you think that will be enough for them to be in the playoffs?
The closest they got into the playoffs since 2011 was in the 2022/23 when they finished on 91 points.
Sadly as a sabers fan I have seen this before, we will crash back to reality in January/ February. We did this a couple years ago when we went on a 10 game win streak then didn’t do anything after. I hope I’m wrong but with this team I got to see it before I get any hope.
Sabres fan here and I have a lot of opinions: Kevyn Adam’s would’ve absolutely spent to the cap (at least once) had he been allowed to. I believe Gary stepped in and told Pegula he isn’t allowed to make any more decisions if he wants to keep the franchise and more or less let the people he has employed do their jobs. This kind of happened in Arizona. If an owner consistently mismanages or holds back funds Gary steps in. The Jarmo hire in the off season was probably forced and I do think he has a coaching hire ready the second this team slips. The team come deadline will match the coach. If it’s Torts, Tage and Power are gone. If it’s Lindy it might just be the same team with additions from finally trading away some prospects. Winning probably stunts the larger changes in Jarmos plan. Regardless of what happens this team is headed in the right direction and I’m more enthusiastic about them than I’ve ever been.
