I love Kobe but I’m sorry, he didn’t deserve about maybe half of those first team all-defense selections. On his later years he was coasting off reputation and he even said so himself.
Those defensive teams weren’t voted by the media but from NBA coaches at the time, probably the most credible people for the job, the narrative that he didn’t deserve them is most likely driven by Kobe hatred than anything else .
