  2. I knew this writeup was coming. With only a few points separating the Kings from the bottom of the Pacific, as well as the top, these losses and points matter NOW. Sure, fire Hiller, but theres no culture this season. Bringing in a new coach may help instill a new sense of want or need to win, however by the time that happens it may be too late.

  3. Hiller lost the room on May 1, 2025 and hasn’t regained it since.
Should’ve been fired along with Luc in May of last year.

  4. It’s just insane to me how a coach could be so stubborn. Turtling game after game, losing in embarrassing fashion. Insane

  5. Luc and Kenny need to go too but if they’re not gonna rebuild in-season (which I doubt they would even consider), you gotta stem the bleeding now and fire this dreadful coach.

This is fucking LA. Why are we playing cowardly hockey. The more we play on the back foot, the worse we look. It’s been nearly two years of this now. That’s a large enough sample size to see when everyone on the team is suffering offensively (except the ultra new players funny enough), its probably not just the players.

Todd was barely still hanging on in the wildcard race when he got fired after a month of dreadful hockey. Jim’s time has run out too.

  6. Wish she would call out the rest of the media for being complacent with this franchise as well.

  7. Hiller definitely needs to go. But with the way the Kings are ran, they’ll just bring in another Hiller caliber coach.
The organization just has a dysfunctional culture and is way too content with simply being average despite playing in a market where hockey is an afterthought on the LA sports totem pole if the team isn’t winning.

Luc should’ve “mutually” parted ways last May along with Rob Blake. It’s too early to fully judge Ken Holland. But that was a recycled NHL old boys club hire to me. It was an uninspiring move. But when the organization was essentially hitching an incumbent coach onto the new gm, you were going to get uninspiring candidates.

Luc should be catching way more heat than he has because I don’t have much confidence in them replacing Hiller properly. Like I’m pretty sure we all agree he needs to go. But after that I don’t have much confidence in them nailing his replacement.

Lost in all this though, Philip Anschutz deserves his share of accountability. It feels like he never catches any heat over the Kings mediocrity. He feels more like a faceless entity than anything. I prefer the owners of my favorite teams to not be all that visible if the team is winning and doing well. I like hands off owners, but being too hands off is problematic as well. Like make some type of statement letting the fanbase know this shit is unacceptable.
