This was favorite shirt of all time back in 2012, got it at the NHL store in Manhattan before watching the Devils beat the Rangers at MSG during the eastern conference finals. I was 17 and felt so cool wearing it in the garden lol. The black with the red Russian name still looks so sick.
He retired 13 years ago. Get over it.

I’d love a Zelepukin written in Cyrillic. Was my favorite player on the Genesis (so fast!) and then he scored the game-tying goal against the Rangers in the Conference Finals. Dude holds a spot in my heart.

Kovy didn’t offer himself that contract, and he had the right to do what was best for his family. He was a big reason why I became a Devils fan.
I have that same shirt. I haven’t worn it other than maybe around the house since 2013 haha. Why burn it now? I don’t even particularly care for Kovalchuk after all that, but would still never but the shirt.

Kovy did us a favor in the long run. The contract would have been a disaster. We got his best years for a reasonable price. Look how his career went after. We would have bought him out a few years after he left or we would have been stuck with it.

I changed the back of mine to KovalSUCK and wore it for a few years after his exit lmfaoo
