Guy Chouinard — Dazzling Passer and 50-Goal Scorer.

Guy Chouinard died December 28, 2025, at the age of 69.

He played for the Atlanta and Calgary Flames in the 1970s and ’80s, and by the time he was traded to the St. Louis Blues in 1983, he was the Flames’ all-time leader in points and assists, though the record has since been eclipsed.

Chouinard is also being remembered for his later years as a coach with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, racking up the league’s most wins as a coach with 515.

  1. As an Atlanta native, I remember Guy Chouinard well! I watched him start to blossom after Geoffrion left. It doesn't surprise me that he remains one of the top scoring players of the Flames. May he rest well in hockey heaven!
