Tatsuya Imai Astros Contract is Fantastic..Yankees have still done nothing

1. the new era of yankees baseball has just begun. if the fans are fed up with the bs, they need to stop going to Yankees home games cos besides judge, who wants to see a team that hasnt done jack. hit hal and cash-less man where it hurts, the wallet.

4. 20 mil is a drop in the bucket, after all, they supposedly offered Soto 700 mil . Nothing but a big FU to the fans.

   This ain't really a competion of who GOBBLES UP the most star players the quickest, nor is it MAKING SURE YOU SIGN A STAR FA every time one of your rivals do, in order to KEEP UP.. Nor is it a race to see which team can make the most good additions THE QUICKEST.

   There are still some very good FA out there, and possibly key trades that might be made. It's not a matter of the championship ring going to the team that makes the best HAUL THE QUICKEST, after the end of the previous season.

   Maybe talk to me about what a "LOUSY AND INCOMPTENT" job the Yankees have done if they are going into Spring Training
   without having made any significant moves. Until then I am content with waiting to see how things play out, without the hissy fits and pity parties of how on JAN 1 (around a month and a half before Spring Training starts, and about 3 months before the regular season starts) the Yankees have yet to do something significant

6. It's a good contract and the Astros also have excellent pitching coaches. It's likely that they're going to make Imai a lot better. The Yanks at this point are just another team. Rotted out from the inside by mind numbingly stupid and self-defeating management and ownership.

14. Guy, Hal said it himself…he’s hurting in the pocket. It’s ideal to stay under the luxury tax and that’s just what he plans to do. Forget Bellinger, forget Tucker, and forget Bichette. Our big acquisition this offseason was Grisham returning and that Mexican player no one has heard of.

15. 5'11" and 154lbs – the only other starting mlb pitcher to throw upper 90s at 154lbs was Pedro Martinez.

16. And if hes got a 5.00 ERA in July everyone will say theyre glad Yankees didnt get him.. I would love another solid starter to begin the year but our guys are coming back early. Warren gets better, the stuff is there. You got Elmer Rodriguez and Carlos Lagrange starting in AAA next year. Not to play devils advocate but with the 3 100 mil contracts the Yankees weren't gonna sign another 20 plus mil a year starter with guys coming back so im not surprised Imai isnt here.

17. It’s amazing that other teams put together creative ways to sign players and the Yankees do jack squat they stay status quo! The worst thing was expanding the amount of playoff teams because owners can be cheap with payroll since almost everyone gets in now!

20. I want Imai to throw a perfect game against the Yankees at Yankees Stadium. Hopefully Cashman will be in attendance to hear the FIRE CASHMAN chants that ensue. This is disgraceful.

21. You are not thinking like a GM so what if those guys are healthy and this unproven talent shits the bed. Are you going to put this 21 million guy in the back of the pen?

22. This news is discouraging. Imai would have been a great fit at a reasonable cost. The Yankees are going to regret not doing more to sign him.

25. Maybe he had no interest in NYC given their new leadership? Maybe he wanted any contract with the Yankees to net him the same amount of money that the Houston contract does?

    Maybe the Yankees figured they have enough starting pitchers with Cole coming back and other needs that need to be addressed? Maybe let him prove himself elsewhere and take a shot at him later if he succeeds?

    This is no big shock to me. The only surprise is by how much the "experts" missed on their contract projections for Imai and Murakami.

26. His honor will be tested when they ask him to cheat.

27. We can only hope Imai is a bust. Pretty low risk deal for the Stros.

28. Only issue is if he is successful he will be gone in a year. If he is a bust he is on the books for 3 years. I would’ve at least wanted a 40 mill option for year 2

29. 20 million dollars a year? And they can't afford it? They make that much iin a few weeks charging 60 bucks per car for parking!! Time to pick up a hobby cause watching the Yankees this year will be a big waste of time
