___Devils star forward Jack Hughes is headed to Milan in February!
On Friday morning, Hughes was named to the 2026 U.S. Olympic Hockey team, which will head to Italy in February. Hughes is one of 21 players on the Olympic roster who represented the United States at last year's 4 Nations Face-Off.
The 24-year-old recently returned from a finger injury and has 22 points in 22 games played this season (11g-11a). In 390 regular season games, Hughes has 373 points (152g-221a). Hughes joins a star-studded list of talent that includes older brother Quinn, who was named to the roster earlier last year.
The United States opens its Olympic tournament against Latvia on Feb. 12 at 3:10 p.m. ET (9:10 p.m. local time).
Jack becomes the Devils' sixth player representative at the upcoming Games.
Already named to their preliminary rosters, the Devils will also be represented by Nico Hischier, Timo Meier, and Jonas Siegenthaler with Switzerland, Ondrej Palat will represent Czechia, and Simon Nemec has been named to the Slovak roster.___
Edit: I created a separate post for greater visibility, but here is a video link for Jack (plus hand splint) helping to announce the 2026 Olympic hockey rosters.

Jack baby ❤️
Hope he’s 100% healthy by February and looks like dominant Jack Hughes out there
I posted this in the other thread but I thought Jack did a good job this morning on the Today Show. Good exposure for the Devils (now if only they can start winning again). Splint shown to the world but the fact the team socials try to hide it is dumb at this point. Congrats to him on making the team USA.
I could get downvoted to oblivion but he’s like a bubble player to me. He should make the team but whoever they leave at home is gonna be just as good of a player for the team. While he’s an allstar for us, he’s not necessarily the best type of player for a stacked group of allstars. Everyone is fast. The team has so much skill that what’s the difference between him and Tage Thompson or Jason Robertson. When he’s not the guy, he was just a puck transporter who was shy to not get hurt in the physical game last time. Someone will get mad here and go ahead, but not intending to ragebait ppl.
Look no further than the construction of this Team USA to understand why Fitz is a lost cause. He’s learning from the worst.
I can only assume the reason Trochek is even on this team is because they need to meet the NYR quota. He does not deserve to be there over Robertson.

Guess who else will be there
