[Crory] Sox made “aggressive” offer for Alex Bregman

  1. I see this as a last call for offers and Bregman wanting to get this wrapped up soon

  2. Really think he would be a stabilizing force I’d love for him to come back. Mayer plays 2nd(should be ss but they aren’t gonna move story even though I think it’s the right move) and the infield defense will be much better with Contreras in the fold too

  3. I would love to have him back. I think he’s a great fit and I honestly couldn’t care less if his contract ages poorly, they have the money and the payroll flexibility.

  4. The contract isn’t good but they were very aggressive with him when offering it

  5. I think he has a worse market than last year. And he doesn’t want to risk his suitors pivoting to other options (Tucker, Bichette). He’d be smart to sign sooner than later

  6. We’ve been through this before.

    This means nothing…

Not to say that it doesn’t mean something… 😉

Whenever Boras is in the fold, there’s always bravado, chest puffing, exaggeration and posturing.

His quad injury is going to make another appearance and it isn’t going to get better as he gets older; it’s already happened twice…. This is the sticking point. I love what he did in the clubhouse, but I’m not willing to spend $30 million on an assistant manager.

My guess is that we offered 5/$150, front loaded at most and Toronto may push that to 6 years…

The only way he comes back is because he wants to, the money won’t be the reason, because others will likely offer the same or more.

  7. In before “BREAKING NEWS: Bregman signs with Yankees”
Boras: “lol they weren’t even close”

  8. ‘By leveraging advanced data analytics and customer feedback loops, we can systematically enhance our service delivery framework, ensuring a seamless customer experience that not only meets but anticipates client needs, thereby driving loyalty and optimizing retention metrics. No. We didn’t make Alex an offer.’ – C. Breslow

  9. No idea what his sources are but Marino Pepen tweeted that [the offer is 5 years / $160M](https://twitter.com/i/status/2007167495099310542), which is definitely higher than I thought the Red Sox would go. If Bregman can get more than that good for him but it is a very good deal and he has the best shot of carving out a HoF career playing for Boston with 81 games a year at Fenway.

  10. John Henry handed him the contract and then puffed out his sunken chest and wheezed to him to ‘come at me you young chap’

  11. I will get excited when I see the RedSox have signed Bregman. Until then I will continue to stalk his Instagram for clues.

  12. If they don’t bring him back it would seem counterproductive to all the drama they caused moving Devers around then ultimately trading him I hope they get it done !
