We can't get rid of AD, and it's really annoying. The Hawks aren't willing to spend Risacher and a first-rounder for AD. So I'm hoping for an offer from the Warriors where we get Kuminga and a first-rounder. The main thing is that we get rid of AD for a good package.

  1. MacMahon adds from what he’s hearing that the Atlanta Hawks aren’t interested in trading expiring contracts, a pick, AND Zaccharie Risacher for AD…

    “I’m highly doubtful on that.”

  2. You mean no one is lining up to trade for a 32-year-old big that plays in ~40% of games?

  3. Hawks won’t include the NOP 1st so Dallas won’t pull the trigger

Warriors won’t include Draymond so the salaries won’t work

  4. Mavs need to just sit AD until the summer then. Don’t let him ruin the tank. Then play him next season and see what, if any, value he has at the trade deadline.

  5. No one knows what really is going to happen all these guys are just talking to remain relevant. Hayes, MacMahon, none of them are sitting on calls where trade discussions are happening.

  6. I’m so done with that whole AD thing at this point that I’d rather take just Risacher in a package than Kuminga (who has proven he’s not good) and a Warriors pick in 2035 to be honest.

  7. Its also a month until the deadline.

The fact that multiple reporters have put information out there from both sides tells me they are negotiating.

Like, when it came out the Pistons were interested, it just kind of died out. There was no real follow up.

Give it time. A lot can change in a few weeks.

  8. these things change every day and new conflicting reports happen all the time. Just wait till the deadline thats all we can do, otherwise its just posting the same song and dance over and over again

  9. Just keep AD lol like I been saying you’re not gonna get the right deal for AD and the mavs can’t afford to take on a potential bust in Zach and have the pick the hawks give us not be in the lottery. Wait till the summer, everyone should have already knew this was already a gap year anyways when kyrie was not going to play majority of this season.

  10. Why would we want Risacher? He averages an awesome 10pts a game. If he was worth a number 1 pick he would have shown it by now.

  11. Marcel Martin from Mavs Digest ( who has about as much credibility as your average Redditor ) says his “sources” inside the Mavs organization have told him that a trade with Atlanta is ruined because Mark Cuban keeps leaking trade ideas/details. And the Hawks aren’t happy about it.

I think it’s all just smoke screen. The rumors and stories will change daily until the deadline.

  12. Just keep AD until the Summer, but his games need to be load managed.

We need to be in the top 6/7 for the NBA lottery.

  13. This level of desperation to get rid of AD is kinda weird. He’s going to play like 40% of the remaining games this year and half of them are gonna be him ramping back up to speed. We’re 8-9 when he plays this year. There’s a genuine chance depending on what we get back that we could win more games after trading him just on availability of talent.

We will get a much better return in the off-season just based on the increased level of flexibility when it comes to trades for contracts his size.

That said, if you get a good deal now you take it but there’s really no need to rush.

  14. Just hope Mavs are able to deal AD as soon as they can. Obviously don’t get fucking robbed (trade our ‘26 pick, take on multiple long term shitty contracts, etc), but the sooner AD is moved, the better.

I know some people will pushback and say wait til the summer if there’s no good deals, but I’m not gonna wait and pray some miracle package comes up. People turning up their nose at this reported ATL deal and say they wait for something better have to consider that this shit just might be his value. And keeping him with no intention of trading him for what, to chase the mythical hopes that him, Kyrie, and Cooper play a couple games before one of the former two explodes again? That shit is just not worth the headache and possible long term money being hamstrung by a 32-year old injury prone big that hasn’t consistently played up to snuff his entire tenure here.
