CRITICAL MOVE: Giants SIGN Tyler Mahle to COMPLETE Rotation | Why they were OUT on Tatsuya Imai

The Giants appear to have rounded out their 2026 rotation, coming to terms with right-hander Tyler Mahle on a one-year deal as they continue to prioritize short-term pitching flexibility. Mahle joins Logan Webb, Robbie Ray, Landen Roupp, and Adrian Houser, signaling a clear strategy shift away from long-term starter commitments — and likely closing the door on a splashier move like Tatsuya Imai, who now looks Houston-bound. We break down what Mahle brings when healthy, why the Giants were comfortable betting on upside and durability risk, and how payroll realities may have shaped this approach. Plus, what this move says about the Giants’ remaining offseason priorities, whether they’re truly “done,” and if attention now turns to upgrading the lineup.

  1. Giants are a joke. They are more worried about maximizing profits rather than investing in the roster. They are 4th richest team. What a joke. They are dumb for not tapping into Japanese market. Sell the team

  2. I’m done defending Gregg Johnson. Clearly he loves 4th place in the division. I’m gonna pray so much that he sells the team. Tatsuya Imai said himself that he wants to take down the Dodgers, and Gregg Johnson tells hin no?! I was so excited about Tatsuya Imai at Oracle Park! His stuff at Oracle Park would’ve easily turned him into one of the all time greats! The Astros will be at Oracle Park this year. If Imai pitches in that series, I pray he throws a perfect game against the Giants to show Gregg Johnson what a complete moron he is!!!!! After missing out on Imai, I have 3 feelings, disappointment, anger, and sorrow. Every offseason, it’s the same thing. 2021-22 offseason: Marcus Semien. 2022-23 offseason: Aaron Judge. 2023-24 offseason: Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Last offseason: Roki Sasaki. And now Tatsuya Imai. I’m sick of this bullshit

  3. Oh boy does this team love to get injury-prone or flat out injured players is anybody else sick of how this team is run? Sub .500 here we come. I really wish I could be interested in a different MLB team. They have absolutely no interest in winning.

  4. Lotta “hope” being relied on with this team.

    As for making a leap:

I thought Birdsong was gonna be our next dude. Not so sure now. Maybe McDonald.

In the field, Matos. It’s a shame he isn’t a more well rounded player.

It’s ugly. If I’m Vitello I’m thinking the Vols might be able to beat the Giants.

    Super bummed on this offseason.

    Sell the team.

  5. Oh great. Another rehab has been. Oft injured. Cheap bull crap owners. Same old same old. How exciting. We’ll be lucky to reach .500 again. Time to follow a real team after following SF since Willie Mays days. I’m out.

  6. Giants run their team like a bad landlord. These temporary fixes always cost more after they fail. 20m in 26 for these guys will get us 25-30 starts. What’s the cost for filling in the remaining 33-40 stars?

  7. This fanbase deserves better ownership! On the plus side… I won’t be spending a dime on the mlb network or wasting $ on tickets or merchandise! Thank you Johnson’s!

  8. They have to atleast raise the floor in the Outfield — doesn’t no need to be a star but they cannot risk have three zero value positions (catcher, second, RF) I think you can role with two and hope for the best. Need a Bader or someone similar

  9. knew Posey bump,n Farhan aside was a nieve! impatient, rookie MGR 💩rebuild! almost.7 Billon💰🤑
23 guaranteed years to 3 hackers, prob 8or 9 strike outs per game between them!!😂

  10. The Giants should sign Tomoyuki Sugano. He had a solid 1st season in the MLB with the O's. This will also get the Giants in on the Japanese media and advertising business. Sugano is loved in Tokyo for being a horse for the Yomiyuri Giants and bringing him to the bay will attract more Japanese players to SF

  11. Great! Another prove it deal. So either he gets hurt like most of the rotation seems to do every year, or he succeeds and signs elsewhere like Gausman, Rodon, or Snell, all who pitched in the post season last season. Stopped going to the games last year. Looks like I won’t be going again this year either. I’m so done with this team. They show no commitment to their fans, or players with these short term deals. The sad part is they’re losing out on the younger generation. They don’t want to watch baseball/Giants because they’re boring. They’d rather watch other sports where the team is actually trying to put a competitive team on the field.

  12. Good video! I think you’re on point! That rotation is going to be an open door all yr with peeps coming and going. Don’t feel good about it and they still haven’t fixed the whole runners in scoring position issue. The Giants would have to have one of the young guys to step up or it’s going to be a long year. They should have put both those recent contracts towards Gallen or another proven arm.

  13. I'm thinking they have confidence in their training staff and coaches to raise the level of the players they currently have and if their current young players have reached their ceiling then and only then they may consider blowing it up but until then, they want to see if better coaching can help them reach their "full" potential.
