Went to a Braves/Dodgers game last season (2025) and they were selling game used bases from a matchup between them from the 2024 season. I couldn’t resist and took home 2nd base from innings 4-6 of the 9/14/2024 game. Ohtani may have stolen 50 bases that year but this one’s mine! Freddie did get on it which is awesome! It’s been in my closet while I figured out a way to display it but I finally found the perfect table on fb marketplace, refinished it and voila! The base still has the post on it so I cut a whole in the table, took some foam board and scattered it with infield dirt and used a spray acrylic to seal it in place. Then just dropped the base in. Really pleased with the outcome and just wanted to share while we wait for spring training!

This table setup is sick
You should put down a base path stripe. This is awesome.
Are these the bigger bases?
That’s so fucking cool. Good for you.
That really is the perfect table
I wonder what’s happening with that lawsuit about the base
This is a fantastic way to display a base! Not having it cluttered with things makes it quite elegant, and you probably should leave it just like it is.
You could add a small display plate that describes the plate’s origin…. Or not, and hammer that to the bottom so it’s recorded but not visible.
Speaking for myself, I would be tempted to browse eBay for any date-specific memorabilia like used tickets or a 2024 schedule to toss into the side. But… there I go, cluttering it up… don’t listen to me! 😆
On a serious note, will this be in a sunny room? Is the glass UV blocking? If not.. I know it’s mainly the logos on the side, but perhaps consider some 3M transparent film to prevent photodegradation since this will likely be kept for decades.
Congrats, and good job!
This is so damn cool!
Baseball knob replacements are an excellent touch. Well done!
Hi bill
How much did you pay?

Yeeees someone else that has repurposed a base, next time you can make a barstool.
Awesome display and collectible
That is such a cool way to display it. It’s almost like a museum exhibit. Good job OP.
