Everyone talks Freddy being trade. My worries is contras will get traded. There know way the brewers will or can give him a record catcher contract which he should get.
What about a deal for a backup catcher and keep Quero in AAA.
Agree with every prediction you made.
Any news about potential extensions for players? Ex: Contreras, Turang, Frelick to name a few? That would be my priority if they aren’t going to bring in anyone new from free agency.
I personally think the Brewers will win around 83 games in 2026. They had absolutely everything go right for them in 2025. I'm not counting on that again in 2026. I think the offense will be below average. Too many holes. Pitching will be OK but I'm not comfortable with it.
Chuck, you spoke of Uribe's two inning save in game five against the Cubs because Megill was injured. Megill actually pitched the first inning of that game…Just trying to help! lol
What about Jefferson Quero? I hope they play Yelich in left and rotate Quero and Contreras between catcher and DH. That would be the most productive lineup in my opinion.
This will not happen in 2026: A World Series Championship.
Last season, two or three days before the season started I predicted the Brewers would be flirting with a 100 win season. With the regulars having another year of experience and the addition of Patrick, Priester, Vaughn, and Durbin since I made that prediction, and Woody being ready to go day one (fingers crossed), I don't see why they wouldn't have equal or more success in 2026…If the Brewers don't send joey Ortiz packing before the season, I predict he will prove all the Ortiz haters wrong with a great offensive output in 2026 and a gold glove to boot.
Let's make wholesale changes to the offense that was third in MLB in runs scored because it isn't very good.
Really looking forward to this year. Really excited to see what Durbin and mitchell look like this year
They need to improve their offense. If Ortiz continues to struggle at the plate make a move sooner than later. Find a bat on the market if one available. If Freddy is traded a bat in return is a must. The central is a tough division I could see all 5 teams closely bunched together.
Closer will be multiple guys with Uribe probably getting the most saves. Megill will be in the mix, could be the top guy. Koenig will be one of the high leverage guys late. Zerpa will try to compete into a high leverage spot as well. I think all four of those guys are needed. I question whether Grant Anderson can repeat his numbers from last year. Can Yoho actually do something productive at the major league level?
Brice Turang will be a 30/30 guy in 2026. This was mentioned by someone else, but I agree.
Trevor Megill was the opener in game five
