  1. Correlation doesn't always mean causation. Atlanta has had to rely on a 6'9 big in Okongwu to play 40 mins a night with KP out. How many games are you going to win giving up 15+ offensive rebs? Well that's been the case with KP out. There hasn't been a lot of games where Trae Young plays with a proper C in the paint to contest shots and grab rebounds. If Trae and KP get a good run of games together, and the Hawks are still losing, I would accept that a trade might be best, but not right now. It's too early

  2. How about just being honest and saying Trae is too small to guard any decent NBA player especially with his lack of effort.

This sugar coating by saying he makes the game easier is nonsense. The question is, does he make the Hawks win better or not? The answer is a resounding NO

  3. Trae Young is just too small in size , which makes him a liability in defence
Both CP3 & Dame Lillard kinda PGs are gradually being faced out of the league . Guards now are bigger & taller …

  4. Hawks just blew out to potential finals teams. They don't need anything but health. That lineup is disgusting, it just has to stay on the court.

  5. I hope they trade him so he can get a fresh start and stop getting blamed. I know the defense drops when he is on the court but the record with him on and off the court isn't telling the whole story. Let's see if they can keep it up a whole season without him then I would eat my words.

  6. You can't win with Trae as your best player. He's tooo small. I'm the history of the game. Very few small have/can win. He isn't at the level of those similar smalls (AI, Zeke, Steph)

  7. Warriors hid steph on defense. Mavs used to hide Luka on defense. Its doable. The problem is while Trae is a good offensive player, he's not on prime Steph or Luka's level. So its not really worth the effort. They should trade him.

  8. Rudy Gay nailed it. Quin Snyder needs to have sense enough to see what’s working and stick with it. The Hawks play differently when Trae plays because Snyder doesn’t try to incorporate Trae into what the team does when Trae is out. He goes back to the old way-the way that’s gotten them eliminated from playoff contention the last two seasons.

  9. Trae's game is NOT fixable for the way the Hawks want to play. Defensively, he can't grow – enough said. Offensively, his shooting efficiency is atrocious, especially from 3.

  10. If you want a good laugh, check out what Trae wore on the night he was drafted. Trae needs to go to a team where he is not the ā€œstarā€. Ball spends way too much time in his hands when he does play.

  11. If they need to be nice and dance around we don't, the man is a harlem globetrotter player, if you want a circus tanking team, great, if you want serious results, move on. A lot of smaller market teams try to hold on for too long on a possibly franchise players and mess up (Pelicans, Grizzlies, etc.).

  12. Bunch of people just regurgitating narratives they see on social media ignoring all context and facts and just blaming Trae smh

  13. Everyone says they need to hide Trae. They do hide Trae but every time down the court, they run a pick and roll on Trae's man. It doesn't matter who it is, they are going to run PnR. Trae is going to get knocked out of position and the defense has to scramble. Can he fight through the PnR? Yes but they are running it 30 times a game on him, he can't fight through it 30 times.

His size hurts a lot. There are like 2 people in the league smaller than Trae so he is always going to get pushed around almost every play. As soon as he runs down on defense, someone bumps him. He gets shoved out of position and this forces the defenders to help early. Boom, open shot.

So the Hawks go Zone to try to help. Wherever Trae is, they will pass to the man on the left or right of him. Always. That man drives, Trae is helpless to stop him so stays with the other shooter at the perimeter. They either score at the basket or kick for an open three off the help defender.

The NBA has the blueprint on how to exploit the Hawks when Trae is on the floor and everyone uses it. I have been saying this since year 1, Trae needs to be at 180+ the entire season. He might be slower but he won't get pushed around as easily. He can't play at 160 and be just 6 feet tall. (He is really 5'10 but everyone keeps lying about his height)

  14. They beat the Knicks without him, so that's not it. The fact is, he doesn't fit on the team anymore. He can be a great player but great players get traded too unless the player is the cornerstone of the team. Trae isn't that guy anymore. Jalen has taken over that role and has been getting triple doubles and they have been doing well. You can't hide a sinkhole once it opens, you can't fill it and build on top of it. You have to move away from it. Trae is that sinkhole on this team and you have to move on from him.

  15. as much as i love trae, he just hasnt been performing at all when hes on the court. not only is he a massive defensive liability, he has also been incredibly inefficient. sure, having one of the best play makers in the league is great, but if hes going to chuck up bad shots or just miss the good ones he takes on a regular basis, theres no point in keeping him for that much money. either try to resign trae to a much lower deal or trade him.

  16. It’s clear hawks had size and KP and Knicks didn’t. This isn’t a Trae young issue. KP came back against wolves and they won. Not a Trae young issue at all in ATL. He’s also recovering from an injury

  17. I feel like if you think Trae Young is the problem, you're not watching the games. Anybody can look at wins and losses over the course of a few games, but the same issues going in with Trae on the court are also happening with him off the court. Jalen Johnson is also a liability defensively right now and they don't have a big rim protector. Also Risacher has got to step up consistently.

  18. its on both sides, they should be playing better when he's on the floor and giving them good looks, but he also needs to give them room to grow and play. he can still be clutch and let guys eat early

  19. Imma leave this hear for the ignorant folks who wanna blame losses on individual players.

During the losing streak the Hawks was 2 and 11 meaning 2 wins and 11 losses this is before the recent 2 game Wolves and Kicks wins.

Trae only played in 5 of those loses during that 2-11 loss streak😮

    Let that marinate

If he only played in 5 of the 11 loses during that lossing streak how was he the reason they were losing?šŸ˜‚

The losses actually coincide more with the time frame that Porzingis started missing more than back to backs due to his illness. That was the real reason they went on the losing streak.

If you are a real Hawks fan you know this team has a problem with not having enough size. When Porzingis is out of the lineup the Size issue's with this teams pops up its ugly head again. Thats the real issue.

We need another big Body on the team its as simple as that. Its not a Trae thing its an Atl gets small as hell in the front court against bigger teams when Porzingis isnt available.

Rebounding becomes an major issue. And Guarding the paint becomes a major issue.

  20. The stats speak for themselves! ATL with Trae & w/out Trae
    PPG: 120.4 PPG: 118.5
oppPPG: 126.7 oppPPG: 116.8 2pts better with him than w/out
10pts worse with him than wout
    Outscored by 6.4pts with him
    Outscoring by 1.7pts w/out him
    2-8 losing team with him
    15-11 winning team w/out him
    It’s not rocket science boyz!!šŸ˜‚
