I would rather have proven players then players who take a few years to adjust to a MLB fastball. Still, players are available who have power. Luis A. would still a good player for SD, but not batting behind Tatis. He could be good batting 7th or lower. Pads have a couple of big deals coming
Let's talk about reality. If we can't afford $15 AAV they're going to have to go cheap like last off-season e.g. Jason Heyward, Yuli Gurriel type of signings. Or they're going to have to get really creative with some trades like they did at the deadline and trade away some payroll while obtaining players that will help them stay competitive. Otherwise. This team is screwed.
