What I'm hoping for the Lions next season is a Offense and offensive coordinator, who can be innovative and create offensive schemes and plays, not just trick plays, but a offense you can audible to a play depending on what the defense has called. Why not having Laporte, and Zelstra on the field at the same time, Zelstra in the back field with Gibbs or Montgomery, to pick up blitzing line backers or too chip blocks on elite edge rushers on their way out to the flats as check down. Have that tightend line up in back field as a full back, where he can lead block, or motion from the back field to set up defenses. We need offensive that is different for defense to game plan for

3. I say the Lions must allow the back up QB to play the entire game to see who he is. The Lions have a core group that's young and in their prime. Over the next year, or two, draft to rebuild, or revamp, the offensive line. Draft to revamp the defensive line to help our secondary. Draft or trade for a top-notch pass rusher. And start looking for a mobile QB who can challenge Jared Goff. A mobile QB will have the skill to cause defensive lines to pause and shift resources away from the offensive line to rush our QB. And an accurate, mobile QB can be a rusher, while extending plays to turn our rushers into receivers, our receivers into rushers, our tight ends into blockers and our rushers and receivers into blockers. Jared Goff is kinda awkward while running and completely out of his comfort zone. The two things that can extend Jared Goff's career is a top-tier offensive line so he'll perform at his absolute best, and a top-tier defensive line to keep opposing offenses from tit-for-tat scoring. The future I see for Jared Goff is as the Lions QB coach due to his excellent check down skills, his excellent reads of defenses skills. I see Jared Goff growing into the assistant offensive coordinator, and the offensive coordinator positions. But, as it stands Goff doesn't have the raw physical abilities of the modern, mobile QB unless the offensive line can consistently form a brick wall around him. Short of that he'll struggle with poor accuracy, fumbles, and QB sacks. The Lions must be loyal to the game not loyal to a name. And move away from "building team culture" or "drafting project players" toward "drafting and/or trading for the top notch position players" on the offensive and defensive lines to focus on winning the Super Bowl within two years.

7. I believe Shep can grow into a great DC, but if someone like Todd Bowles is available….

14. The hard truth is that Dan Campbell can’t scheme offensive game plans. Ben Johnson was the success our team. And it’s not like Dan can help Shepard on defense. We need a real head coach to get this team fixed.

You guys don’t understand, it’s not the players it’s the fact that Ben Johnson is with the Bears, Lions was 15-2 2024, lose Ben Johnson 8-8 & the Bears won the devision & are in the playoffs with the best record in the NFC NORTH 11-5, that should tell everyone that the only thing that was different this year was the lost of BEN JOHNSON……

20. Ya keeping drafted players is great when mist keeps like jamo, st brown, Sewell etc. but paying huge extension for definition of average in like Barnes was ridiculous. He’s gotta have balls and brains to get free agents from other teams like all the elite gms do.
