  2. That goal to tie it was the exact same goal that Matthews scored on his first tonight. It’s just insane how good this kid is. He absolutely took over the game.

  3. It makes me really happy that butch is getting to cast games like this. He had to work thru so many dogshit islander games, he deserves to be here while Schaefer grows.

  5. Shaefer skating to find Shannon for the interview was my favorite moment of the night.

    He wanted to talk to the crowd. He plays for us. Watching him get pissed off after the cross check and decide they weren’t losing the game was fucking magical.

    He turned into a different player tonight. I’m so god damn excited to see him on the island for many years to come.

  11. Matt was super pissed over that nasty cross check and just took over the game. The kid is amazing.

  12. Its crazy how this one kid can turn this team around. We went from missing the playoffs to Cup contenders.
