  1. What does Mayfield even do on this team? Every goal against especially in this game he seems to be on the ice turning over the puck. He is a bum and always has been.

  2. This kid has got to be one of the most humble athletes I’ve seen him saying he loves and is proud of the fans not only for his personal benefit but for us, ourselves to keep us going and alive in the Important games especially after being blown out by Utah last game this guy is so special you can tell he’s humble and does it for us and just wants his team to succeed not just himself.

  3. Mayfield is our Achilles heel, our weakest link. He has been ever since I can remember. He will kill us moving forward and especially against the better teams who can and will exploit his weaknesses. The islanders have to play much harder just to make up for the mistakes. In this particular game Schaefer scores his first of two goals and we didn’t even get a chance to celebrate that awesome goal completely when what seemed like not more than a minute later you see mayfield chase the puck from the blue line to behind our goal leaving the middle completely exposed to allow the go ahead goal, oh I could go on.
It does not make any sense, you never hear the coach or commentators calling him out for the platitude of mistakes he makes game in and game out. You never see him punished by the coaching staff or sent down to Bridgeport like other player’s have been. How many games has he blown for us in the remaining minutes of games if not by committing a senseless penalty then by turning the puck over or simply being out of position. Id like to know the stats of how many times he’s in the ice when we allow a goal compared to all other defenders, it seems to be a lot. Heck even Barzall has been a healthy scratch at times as a punishment.
The only thing that does make sense here is that mayfield either knows someone , or someone close to him knows someone in high places. The islanders cannot win the cup with mayfield as a starting defender.
