Critical point here is difference from the best lineup. Coward, Wells and Aldama are in both. Add Ja and JJJ and its the worst Grizz lines and one of the worst in the NBA. Add VWJ and Edey and it is the best Grizz lineup and one of the best in the NBA.

It's a relatively small sample size, so the results are not definitive and may change. But it is extremely concerning that the Grizz two stars and highest paid players are the difference between best and worst.

  1. Aldama and Jaren at the 4/5 just gets crushed defensively. Edey is so big for the whole team

  2. Ja and Jaren are fine.

Swapping Edey for Aldama is the critical piece here.

Hell I bet swapping Clarke for Aldama would be above average if not one of the better lineups in the nba.

  3. Who did the best lineup play against compared to who the worst lineup played against? If the “worst” played against the Thunder and Spurs starters but the “best” lineup played against terrible teams then it’s going to be skewed.

I’m not saying this is what happened but it’s important to know.

  4. Santi is a 3/4 and Jaren is a 4.
When you put them in lineups with an actual 5 their numbers magically improve – and when you play them in wacky lineups they do poorly.
