  1. Is it possible that the Mets' inactivity this offseason is a concern about uncertainty relative to a new CBA? With economic Armageddon on the horizon for MLB, is David Stearns being proactive, pivoting to a younger, more cost-effective roster? Regardless, it's time to take the training wheels off some of these prospects and see what they can do. The timing is perfect. Prospect huggers of the world unite! This Major League campaign provides the perfect laboratory for a test run. Watching these guys come up and perform in The Show is fun. I'm looking forward to watching these guys develop.

  2. My concern about Ewing is that if they try to get him to hit more homers, his overall offense will decline. I'd rather have a player hitting 300 with 50 SB and 5-6 homers over a guy hitting 265 with 15 home runs and 30 SB.
