We’re the Bad Luck Brian of hockey franchises

  1. After watching the tournament I’m genuinely scared we have a future Alexandre Daigle here.

  2. mckenna is a talented playmaker, but his low compete level matched the scouting reports,

he took a dumb penalty and chirped the refs which is not a great look on his character

  3. We’re not forced to draft him and the canucks arent known for being team swedes for nothing

  4. That was a shameful performance from canada*. A colossal waste of time

*interchangeable with most canucks games this season

  5. We aren’t even going to get him. Even if we get last we will lose the lottery. I won’t be shocked is Florida, Vegas or Edmonton somehow win the draft lottery

  6. I thought Stenberg was the better player before, but the World Juniors has solidified it. McKenna is fine, but he is not going to be a difference maker anytime soon for whichever team drafts him. I think Stenberg is the better player right now, and I also think you could argue he has more upside. Seems like a very easy choice to me.

  7. The majority of our roster was disappointing that game.

I was hoping Cootes would do something. Barely heard his name being mentioned though, even when he was on the ice.

  8. One tournament, hes 17 playing against mostly 19 year olds. Not even mcdavid lit it up at his first wjs.

Pretty stupid to judge him off this.

    Czechs played a great game.

  9. Mckenna would drive this fan base crazy. He’s got supreme vision and anticipation but he’s got no compete and no battle. Very disappointing showing imo.

  10. It’s always been Stenburg as an option. We’ve formally called the tanking McStenburg for a reason.

  11. I think he’ll be fine. Definitely not a Bedard/macklin level guy who just took over the game. Fucked up big time chasing money at Penn state

  12. I mean stats wise, Celebrini had 8 points in 5 games and McKenna had 9 points in 5 games

  13. If you take out the 10-0 beating of Latvia where he put up 5 points, Celebrini put up 3 points in 4 games at the WJC including 0 in the quarter-final game when they were eliminated.

  14. I’ll admit that I haven’t watched NHL hockey for that long, but I read that Jack Hughes also had some worries going into his draft. Can this be another situation like that? I need some explanations

  15. Honestly we’re more like the hated son of the franchise lol.

I will swear up and down till the day I die that the draft is rigged against us.

I can’t bring myself to believe that devils, sharks, Blackhawks and oilers have drafted numerous #1s and we haven’t drafted since 1999 with the Sedins.

I feel like it’s a grudge against us but not entirely sure why.

  16. FWIW, Eliteprospects consensus top 5 has:

    1. McKenna
    2. Verhoeff
    3. Stenberg
    4. Lawrence
    5. Belchetz

  17. Well, it’s not like Celebrini and Schaeffer won gold at the world junior championships either. Those guys are great in the nhl. Mckenna might be awesome as well… we won’t know until next season.

  18. I’ve been enjoying Keaton Verhoeff a lot when I research him. Thoughts on going with a defenseman?

  19. I don’t understand people freaking out over 1 game (he still had a point). Nobody has a higher ceiling than McKenna in the draft 🤷‍♂️

  20. Have no fear after that showing at WJs and his lack lustre NCAA season so far I would be shocked if he went 1st overall. His draft stock has tumbled.
