  1. Give him the ring of honor and keep that touchdown against the Bills playing under his display forever. He might not have been elite but he was the voice of the people.

  2. He’ll go down as a fan favorite on one of our best ever squads, good for him. Enjoy your retirement.

  3. Going to miss Ford Field erupting each and every time he comes on and declares.

  4. Honestly get out while you still can man. No sense in constantly abusing your body more, you put your time and heart into the team. Go rest and enjoy!

  5. I’m sure Skipper is a nice man and he was a lot of fun but yeah we need to get a better player with that roster spot next year anyways.

  6. My guy has made a few million dollars, and I’m happy for him. Enjoy your retirement, Skip. You more than earned it.

Spend time with the fam and stay healthy. That back is going to be ROUGH in a few years if you don’t take care of it.

  7. Guys been anything, anytime we needed whatever it was, never the best at any of it, but good enough to hold it down. All the respect to Skip.

  8. He’s been cut and brought back the past two years.

If he’s not retiring, it’s time for Detroit to move on regardless.

Dude carved out a solid career for himself at the end of the day.

  9. Augment Skip, Decker and Ragnow with experimental nanomachine technology and get back to having an elite O-line. Do not be concerned about possible side effects. High risk/high reward.

  10. Skip has had a career that is the perfect representation of grit. If he hangs it up he should be really proud of what he accomplished. Also, I’d love to see him in the media, he’s always spoke his mind and been insightful.

  11. He never gave up despite being bounced around the league and on/off practice squads. This guy embodies what it means to be Detroit tough, grit and a Lion.

  12. Sad if true, but if anyone’s earned it, it’s Skip. We’ll miss the cheers when he reports eligible.

“Offensive Line Coach Dan Skipper” does have a nice sound to it…retooling the O-line should probably include some staff changes beyond the obvious need to replace Johnny Mo at OC.
