I love how the Lakers get their way with refs 99% of the time and nobody says anything, but that one time Tatum fouled lebron and it wasnt called the media went crazy
LeBron was literally another ref. They overturned a call on his say so of it hitting the rim. Techs for anyone else complaining other than him and Luca
It’s just ridiculous. Like, yes, he’s won a bunch of rings. Yes, he’s a HoFer. Yeah yeah yeah. But the degree to which they would allow him to bitch and moan over EVERY call and waste time while he looked at the replay… like, they may as well have just given him a headset and let him look at the officials’ replay monitor so he could make his own calls. It was out of fucking control.
Like, Brev at one point said *”I’d love to just say it’s all on the refs but the Grizzlies have to stop fouling. They can’t reach.”* and he’s not wrong but the officiating was just not balanced. No ref would give any deference to any Grizzlies player like that. Like, the fact that they didn’t call that double dribble on Jake was WIIIIIILLLLD. That was right in front of a fucking ref.
Santi more or less emulates Luka’s foul-baiting and defensive cheats (*he really doesn’t get enough credit for this, mostly because Santi doesn’t benefit from Luka’s favoritism so it doesn’t pay off as well*) and Luka was furious. His complaint to the refs was basically *”How dare he do what I do!”* And when Luka collapsed like Lance Stephenson when GG bumped him, they just let his flop slide.
That was just fucking bananas. It’s why as an LA girl I’ve never been a Laker fan. You should really be ashamed to root for a team like that.
You don’t get it. Their defense is ~~so good with AD~~ so bad with Luka that they deserve to get over 2x the FT difference of any other team in the league over a 5 year period. Or something.
It totally isn’t suspicious at all for them to have the best whistle in the league and get carried by the refs every single year.
