Feel bad for the guy but boy I’m glad we moved on from him when we did. I think his time is up in the NFL unfortunately

  1. Not surprised. Can’t go another year like that. It was a disaster hire from the outset.

  2. He shoulda just stayed retired. I hope this resolved whatever he was chasing after and he can just enjoy his retirement now

  3. Ah yes cause firing a head coach 1 year into his regime with a team that terrible is always the right move for a rebuild.

  4. Expected, still sad to see him go as it’s likely his last hoorah. I’m appreciative of what he brought this city and team.

  5. Raiders now have to decide if they want to cut their losses on Geno’s contract and if they keep Crosby.

Whoever they hire is gonna have their work cut out for them.

  6. The NFL just evolved, and he didn’t adapt. I wanted him gone since 2018, but I can’t really complain now since we got MacDonald. Perfect timing.

  7. Pete’s a legend idc what anyone says. I hope he gets to enjoy retirement Always will be grateful for those memories all those years and our only ring so far

  8. This makes me sad, loved Pete and still do. Glad we moved on but can certainly still route for the guy.

  9. Pete is a legend and should be in the ring of honor ASAP but the game clearly passed him by. No shame in that whatsoever.

  10. Blaming Pete Carroll shows an inherent lack of understanding of how messed up things are with the Las Vegas Raiders. The rot really starts at the top. Even before Al Davis died in 2011, the Raiders were a really dysfunctional team. Mark Davis, the current owner, would be out of his depth in his own smut puddle.

You cannot have the caliber of players and coaches that have come through the organization and failed to deliver without some reason nothing works. The Raiders can replace Pete, but the next coach will face the exact same problems and be fired just like all the others.

  11. so the Raiders make a poor choice due to being an idiot organization again, was hoping they wouldnt be this stupid and give him at least 2 years but oh well theyll just be basement dwellers for the rest of existence.

You dont bring a guy in to change the culture and not give him at least 2 years.

  12. Ιt’s easy to blame the organization and abolish him of all the blame himself but if you remember before the season, the Raiders had actual expectations, and they ended up as the worst team in the league, so noone’s free of blame here.

  13. I mean Chip Kelly as his OC. His son as the oline coach. Taking Jeanty (who I think will be good ) over Oline and getting to the point Stone Forsythe was starting.Geno being worse than anyone expected. Jamal Adams…

  14. Can’t ever make me hate Pete, but I hope he can just settle and relax now.

  15. Raiders will get a new HC. Raiders will suck again. Raiders will get a new HC. Raiders will suck again.
    There’s a pattern here…

  16. This team carries so much of Pete’s valuable DNA.  He took coaching from a negative place to one of positivity and building guys up to perform their best.  JS learned so much from Pete about how to assemble a complete team and Mike is 100% a part of and a builder of that core philosophy moving forward.  Seeing guys out there going 100% every play is exactly what Pete expected and built in the meeting rooms, practice fields, and locker room.  Getting behind a guy when he makes a mistake, has a bad game, or has a difficult matchup is such a great way to run a team and Pete was on of the first coaches in football to do it.  They called him the “rara coach” he was mocked, they questioned his ability to transition to the NFL of Men.  He single handedly changed the negative culture of football and set an example of 100% effort whistle to whistle, then picking the guy up you just hit, or picking up the ball to hand to a ref, or building your team mate up after four interceptions.  What Pete has done for the NFL, it’s players, and fans will not even be replicated in my life time.  Such a great example, such a great human, and such a great coach!

  17. I don’t know what he wants to do next but I hope he gets a job where I can see him on tv. I love that man for what he did for this city.

  18. Wish he would have just stayed retired instead of going to that trash of a franchise. I know it’s not in his blood tho and that’s what makes Carrol so great. Hope he enjoys his retirement. More than deserved

  19. I will always love papa Pete, he did so much for Seattle and I think he showed that there are different ways to coach and really be a players coach.

  20. An inspirational leader. Quite honestly I think the team did the best they could with the talent level.

  21. I hoped he would turn the Raiders around.  But some jobs are simply too difficult.
