Just a look at where people had us at in Week 7.. sigh..

  1. Lost to the #31, #29, #20 and #14 down the stretch. With a juggernaut schedule like that how could we possibly win?

  2. Warning signs were there though.

Individual brilliance/playmaking, Baker playing at an MVP level and players giving their all is what got us ***barely*** to this point. The main actual encouraging things was that Bowles seemed to have improved in clock management and us getting *healthier*. Play-Calling on both sides of the ball and Special Teams performance were putrid to start the season.

Then it turned out that we got worse when we were healthier. Players got exhausted, Baker got completely banged up and trusted his o-line less and less leading to a decline in play, play-calling lost any sense of self and the clock management did a complete 180, somehow getting worse than it was before.

  3. Top 3 missed the playoffs and almost 4 out of the top 5.

I knew we weren’t going to finish at the top but a playoff spot and the division title should have never been in doubt.

  4. Biggest take away from this season for me: tackling, coverage, pass rush, and special teams woes carried on from week 1 all the way to week 18. Unacceptable.

  5. You have to take a really hard look at that 6 – 2 start and you will see that the writing was on the wall. There is no way they were going to sustain success when they had to come from behind to win most of those first 6 games (with only San Franscisco and New Orleans being strong wins). The defense was doing all it could to lose the games, while the offense was putting up around 20 points a game and constantly getting into shoot outs. Hell, the team still tried not to win against Arizona and Carolina in weeks 12 and 17…

  6. Actually wonder if there was ever a time from week 7 onwards that a team that was no1 in the rankings didn’t make the playoffs. Wouldn’t be surprised if this was the first time ever. Historic collapse tbh.
