After this month, it will be full calendar year since the Chiefs have beaten a playoff team. Changes are desperately needed across the organization.
We was ass with a top 5 all time QB.
This guys does basic math and turns it into content

One of the best parts of this Chiefs era is how stable they appear to the outside world; very few of our players say dumb shit about the team in public, and the organization as a whole maintains a boring status quo in front of the media. It can be frustrating for us as fans, but it speaks to professionalism on their part to an extent.
That being said, I can only hope that behind the scenes right now things are extremely uncomfortable for Andy, Veach, and our coaching staff. We can’t win the Super Bowl every year, but wasting a season with Mahomes in his prime cannot be acceptable. I’m not even considering the injury because, if we’re being honest with ourselves, the season was over before Mahomes went down.
I would rather be 0-8 against playoff teams than watch the Ravens make the playoffs. 😁
An offensive line that was devastated by injuries as ours was this year pretty much negates a playoff run. Rice missing so many games early didn’t help and he wasn’t a difference maker once he hit the field. Mahomes deep ball was off this year.
Our defense played lights out unless it was third and long.
We are a banged up team that has played deep in the playoffs for years…. We can rest, recover, heal, and tune it back up without being overly dramatic. We do need to do well in the draft though.
Ok but without the loss to us the ravens would have been a playoff team. Colts lost their QB and fell apart. Jags we had beat and then Chris jones just stopped playing. Chargers we had on the ropes twice but one butker couldn’t kick and the second Mahomes blew his knee out.
The margins are very small
It makes sense, we aren’t a good team. We have no effective ground game, receivers who can’t beat man, and in general, an offensive scheme that works best when the QB operates outside of it and improvises instead. The defense has nearly zero pass rush and can’t get off the field on 3rd and long. The coaching staff in general prioritizes “knowing the scheme” over athleticism and will happily let potentially better players rot on the bench until theyve “earned trust” while sending out jabronis like Conner to get torched snap after snap.
Even in the last few games, when nothing actually mattered, they still refused to let their new guys get live reps and see what they could do, instead letting the old guys who have proven they no longer have it continue absorbing all opportunities. We signed Dameon Pierce and explicitly refuse to let him play even though we know what Pacheco and Hunt are capable of.
The meta of the league appears to be passing us by while the staff continue to insist that execution is the only missing piece between the team and championships. The FO continues to draft the same types of players despite diminishing returns, and the coaching staff appears to be forcing players to change their playstyles and physical builds to fit those standards that are increasingly not working.
I am being a bit dramatic, but it’s been obvious to me for several years now that problems exist that are not being addressed, and now the league has caught up because of those problems. It’s not just injuries; a real philosophy shift has to occur.
Eric Bienimy – # 1 offense 2 of 3 years. Matt Nagy – in 3 years turned the GOAT into a mediocre QB. Nagy must go!

imagine only finding out now that we ass this season
Turns out we actually had a fairly easy schedule and were just that fucking bad

Competitive in all the losses to the playoff teams but can’t beat the worst team in the league. This team is bad but how to fix it. It does seem like we are close but also seems like we are far away from being a successful team.
what an unserious season man. too bad.
One can hope this season going so horribly wrong and this team looking absolutely horrendous after Mahomes went down (and pretty bad before that), will force some serious soul searching among the FO and coaching staff.
After seven years of incredible success, it’s possible, likely, the team became a victim of their own success. Refusing to acknowledge flaws because, well they were still making/winning SBs.
As fans we all knew last regular season was miserable, but I, and I am guessing others, felt/thought it was a team playing for the postseason. Not bothering with regular season style points and what not. Clearly in hindsight we were just getting lucky over and over.
Incredibly important offseason coming up.
The fact that Mahomes covered so many of our flaws for as long as he did demonstrates the caliber of athlete and competitor he is. Definitely most valuable player on the Chiefs. Also, our OC staff needs to be impeached.
Fire Veach
Eagles pulled a Bane on us
Just remember the Patriots had rebuilding years.
You absolutely must must must have it because you run out of cap space when you aren’t drafting young talent
Losing the last few games is the best thing that could’ve happened to this team because we were not going to win the Super Bowl this year
Doesn’t feel good, but you have to understand that this was necessary
There’s two options either you rebuild and have a chance at a couple more with Mahomes or you don’t rebuild and what we got is what we got and that’s it
In a season where the entire AFC was mediocre, we stood out in how shitty we looked for most of the season.
Too Many Guys with Rings and Millions in the Bank, Reid has to let go of his Friends that are coaches on the Team & bring in Young, Innovative, Hungry Assistants
We have 6 draft picks – it will take 2 years to roll this roster over
Veech is a terrible GM, I’ve been trying to tell you guys this for three years and you all screaming in Veech we trust and down vote me like crazy. Its a trash roster with a bunch of backup level players starting and make big money. Its been so obvious, no one leaves KC and finds much success that was drafted by Veech. His free agent signings rarely work out, most of them never make an impact. Take Mahomes away and guys are reaching for the paper bag hats.
Okay Sam. But it’s not like those games didn’t come down to the final minutes. Let’s not act like they got their ass handed to them. Even the Christmas game came down to the last 20 seconds. How about we see how they react to this season?
With this post I am 1-0 with statistics that I don’t care about.
Gross
I’m very afraid that the team is such a mess that it will take the rest of Mahomes prime years to recover, while teams like the Broncos become better and better. I really hope I’m wrong
I just chalk this year up to:
-Injuries in the trenches
-Teams have basically been circling their game against the Chiefs for a couple years now. I remember after the Texans game, one player on their team openly saying “we had this game circled on the calender for like a year”.
-NFL trying to beat the “we favor the Chiefs” narratives, by completely screwing the Chiefs in some big nationally televised games. The worst of all was probably the Cowboys game where Ceedee and Pickens basically could do whatever they wanted and everybody kind pretended we didn’t see what was clearly happening to the Chiefs. Hopefully, the league is done trying to play the fake narrative games.
-Coaching. At the very least, the entire offensive coaching staff needs to be overhauled. If anything, just for the sake of something new because the entire NFL has sat for years watching the Chiefs current playbook.
Yeah, we suck.
I see a lot of “we aren’t a good team” comments and that’s bullshit. We ARE a good team. But we have some consistent problems that have been there for a few years now. While there are some personnel issues that will probably sort themselves out to a degree thanks to the cap, most of the issues the past 3 years or so are coaching issues (and yet we STILL went to 2 Super Bowls and won one). Offensive play and production have been consistently declining. Here’s why, IMO:
No offensive accountability. Nagy came in after EB went to Washington and, if you believe what your eyes are telling you, became the softie “Yes” man to Reid and doesn’t get on Patrick’s ass about bad decisions like EB did. He overwhelms with “what if” information and takes Patrick out of using his natural talent. As has been discussed ad nauseum here, Nagy must GO before he turns Patrick into Trubisky 2.0.
Hiring Connor Embree as a WR coach is a fireable offense all by itself. But if you can’t fire the guy who did the hiring, you can at least fire the coach who CLEARLY has zero clue what the hell he’s doing. A running back and a defensive quality-control coach now trying to teach WR’s how to get separation and run crisp routes? The sheer absurdity of that blows my mind. It’s dangerously close to wasting some WR talent (Thornton, Rice, Worthy…)
Speaking of position coaches NOT coaching their natural position, why the hell is Todd Pinkston coaching RB’s? Another case of f**king up quality talent, because he hasn’t helped Pacheco get back to where he was when he was drafted. Why isn’t HE the one coaching the WR’s?
I don’t understand how Andy Heck couldn’t coach the penalties out of Jawaan Taylor, but here we are.
I mean…I could go on, but I don’t think I need to. Yes, we need to find a way to improve play on the D-Line. The front four have been atrocious for a couple of years now. Yes, we could use a legit RB1, however I would caution that we HAD that but between bad coaching and misuse of talents that’s a risk. Overall, though, this is a VERY talented team, or at least it WAS this year. We’ll see how things shake out after the season and we have to start getting under the cap. But the talent is there. It’s the coaching at the lower tiers that I think is inadequate.
