I think yes, Henderson & Stevenson make a great 1-2 punch and last seasons UDFA LAN Larison could make a good push for RB3 after returning from IR, also begs the question, what do the Patriots do with Antonio Gibson?

  1. >also begs the question, what do the Patriots do with Antonio Gibson?

Unless Gibson is toast or contractually he’s expiring, I don’t see Lan Larison taking his spot.

  2. Yes 100%. Thunder (mondre) and lightning (Henderson). I feel like we could build what Detroit had with Dan Campbell, Ben Johnson, jahmyr and Montgomery. It seems like we have the players head coach everyone loves, the offensive mastermind and a super talented speed back and do it all bruiser.

  3. Not knowing the contract situations and stuff for cap hits on release, I assumed that barring him being functionally worthless, he would come back anyway since he signed a 4 year deal last year. Usually it isn’t until year 2 or 3 of those types of contracts that we’d release and cut our loses anyway. Gibson will be back next year no matter what, as well.

  4. Setting aside his contract, yes. His play outside of his fumble issues have earned him his spot. There are maybe 2/3 upcoming FAs I would take over him (KWIII and Hall, maybe another i’m not seeing), but they’re going to get paid more and are more in the mold of Hendo than Mondre, so they wouldn’t fit as well.

Speaking on his contract, this year doesn’t have the worst dead cap hit, but its still more than his rostered cap hit, so makes sense to keep him.

In the draft, I would love Nick Singleton, but I’m not looking to use another round 2 pick on a RB.

  5. I’d be hella annoyed if we cut or traded Mondre. He is one of the more uniquely versatile and hard to defend backs in the league when his game is on point.

As for Gibson if he heals up and still has his speed I’m all for him continuing as our KR and rotational back

  6. Backs don’t get more complete from a skill point of view. Not sure why he wouldn’t be back.

  7. Hell yes! The one two punch with Mondre and TreVeyon is giving me lions vibes with Montgomery and Gibbs. That, coupled with Maye’s passing attack, makes us extra deadly

  8. We don’t love Mondre enough for how long he’s been with the team. ‘Mondre fed families when Damien Harris was falling off.

  9. I remember there being talks of moving him during the first part of the season when he started slow. I never understood those takes, he’s a durable RB and is a better blocker then Henderson

  10. He costs 7.6m against the cap and cutting him saves only 2.75m at most. He’s a very solid back who can play all 3 downs and complements Henderson very well (and Henderson isn’t built to be a bellcow). He’s going nowhere in 2026.

Gibson is more likely to go, depending on how his injury recovery goes. Larison has a shot to make the team. They might keep all 4 (larison has ST experience as a returner and gunner).

  11. For me, absolutely. Having two RBs that demand attention keeps the opposition honest and opens up our passing game. Plus I am pretty sure his dead cap hit would be more than if rostered making this, IMHO, a no-brainer.

If Gibson can come back we have 3 solid RB options that gives Josh a lot of different looks.

  12. praise be… no need to take a RB in the draft!

If these guys can nail a second draft in a row, we’ll be set up for a real run and make up for the mistakes of the last half decade.

  13. Mondre despite his stints of turnovers has been one of the best & most consistent RBs NE has in a long time. I generally don’t ever buy RB jerseys because of the nature of the league nowadays but I scooped one up after his first season. He’s a work horse, can catch passes and now that we know what he have with Henderson, it feels similar to a Blount -dion lewis/vereen situation. Great 1-2 with different skill sets but both have play making abilities

  14. Is this a joke??? Stevenson is an elite blocking RB who can also catch passes. He is like a blue collar version of Shady.

  15. I think he’s finally in an ideal situation and he looks great. I’d be shocked if he wasn’t back alongside Henderson and some combination of Gibson and Larison, potentially both as they both have a lot of special teams value.

Overall I think that’s a fantastic RB room. The only thing I think we could potentially use would be a big, strong, bruiser who can consistently get 1-2 yards in situations where everyone expects us to run. They don’t need to be fast or have any value in the passing game as we have that stuff in spades. But we have struggled sometimes in those goal line situations.

  16. Having Gibson back as another rotational piece and KR will round out the rb room nicely

  17. Bro he has been the best player on the team the last few weeks. Dude was completely electric against Miami and completely won that game for us.

He should be here next year lol no question

  18. If Rhamondre Stevenson doesn’t fumble, he’s a top ~5 back in the league. Vrabel loves him, McDaniels at least likes him, and the whole team seems to like him. I don’t see how he’s gone

  19. Depends on how they feel about the fumbling issue from earlier in the year. Also, who knows if they have some interest in breece hall…

  20. His spot was locked regardless. He’s under contract and he has a good enough track record. He was gonna Lose his starting job, that was up in the air, but I don’t think he would ever be cut or traded unless Jeremiah Love falls to us or something crazy

  21. Zero reason he wouldn’t be here next year. It’s not like Henderson is on a free agency contract, and it’s not like we’re in cap jail.

We seem to get the best version of him when he’s not the only guy slamming the rock over and over again. Henderson makes him a more productive back.

  22. Bro he is the best we have and it isn’t close. There isn’t 10 RBs I would want more than him in the NFL right now. RBs fumble sometimes. He fixed the issue.
