I am not entirely sold on this deal's feasibility myself, but three picks in this year's draft (plus ours improving), 2024's 1st pick (Risacher), plus another lottery pick from 2024 (Buzelis), one from 2025 (Essengue) — that's six players (likely) 21 and younger — plus a defensive minded 25-year old PG, and we escape the 2nd apron. Vucevic and Collins come off the books this year but I might consider retaining Collins next year as a Gafford replacement/Lively backup as he's only 28. And we clean out some salary chaff, but losing AD, Naji and Gafford hurts.
Atlanta takes care of their Trae dilemma and gets a vet PG to hold fort as well as AD and Naji. The catch is will they really give us two 1sts this year? Their pick is already going to be the worse of theirs or SAS, and so will likely be fairly low given the Spurs are 2nd in the West.
The Bulls get Gafford but eat Martin and Hardy's deals and give up a 1st. I'm not sold on the defense of the Trae – Giddey backcourt at all.
I think either Atlanta or Chicago might say no, but this accomplishes some objectives (CHI gets a PG, ATL gets rid of Trae and we get pieces for a young core on Flagg's timeline and improve our pick.) I don't love our prospects for the coming years unless we nail a 2026 pick, but Risacher and Buzelis definitely have longterm upside potential.
If we can't flip him, I would buy out Vucevic once the deal clears and let him go play for a contender (since we're not trying to win this year.)

I doubt bulls let matas go dudes really good
As the Mavs I say yes. Committing to the Flagg era is the only way forward imo.
That being said I don’t think the Hawks part with the Nola pick let alone both. And idk why the Bulls would get rid of all their young pieces and get basically Trae and Gafford.
Approved
Think the Hawks give up too much here
Hawks are hanging up the phone
AD does not have this much value lol.
Atlanta and Chicago say hell no
We’re too eager to get rid of AD for anything lol. Only player who has equal value to AD in a trade is Giannis. If we can’t get him, then we should hang on to him.
What’s lost in this context is how the players feel about AD. Kyrie has been on record saying he wanted to team up with him for years and we now have it. Timing is just unfortunate with Kyrie’s injury.
With Kyrie, AD, Cooper and the pieces we have, I still think we have the tools to knock off any team in the playoffs if we get there. Including and especially OKC.
A Giddey/Trae backcourt? No chance in hell
No chance. Plus Mavs won’t want 4 first round picks for one draft. Prefer to spread it out a bit.
Lmao no way Bulls let go of Matas
As a hawks fan, we’d rather keep ZR and our picks. We can let Trae and KP expire this offseason and open up 75 mil in cap space, while adding 2 high quality rookies from this deep draft.
If we’re getting injury prone AD and his huge contract, then it’s only because we’re giving up our late first and KP/lennard.
This could use like 2 more teams and 10 more players imo, but still a pretty great Reddit Trade Machine Post
Bulls would only do this if Michael Jordan or Nico was GM
Bulls and Hawks both laugh and hang up.
Mods should honestly ban trade proposals that include the NOLA pick. It’s not happening and the absurdity of these trade proposals increases by the day.
That is the most lopsided trade I have seen. Come on…
