It’s happening

  1. Damn. Forever a franchise legend in my eyes but I guess it’s time. Thank you for everything

  2. I think it will be a barrage of agenda posting and I told you so’s but even as somebody who has thought it was over for a while now.. this is going to be a sad time. I really thought he’d surpass Nique for us.

  3. [Shams] The Hawks and Young’s agents have maintained positive dialogue on his future ever since the franchise elected not to offer a contract extension last summer ahead of his 2026 player option. Now the sides are working together on a trade out of Atlanta.

  4. Will miss Trae honestly. Hope he gets the recognition he deserves

Side note: imagine if he ends up in Washington and him and Sarr look awesome lol. This sub might destroy itself

  5. i dont feel good or bad about this. i feel sick and a little sad. end of an era. best to trae.

  6. This sucks man. My favorite player ever. I understand he has flaws as a team’s star player, but I was so excited to see how he gelled with the new guys, KP in particular obviously. Imagine if Mo didn’t get pushed into his leg. We’ll never know what this team could’ve looked like

  7. Really sad to see it man. A lot of what ifs, I wonder if he hadn’t gotten hurt this season if things would have worked out with this new look roster.

So much respect for what he’s given to us as fans of the Hawks in the last 8 years. I will always love him and follow his career as a fan no matter where he goes. And I appreciate the professionalism to not turn this into a big public scene like other stars and just quietly working to figure out a solution that works for him.

Thank you Trae – I hope to be there at State Farm when your jersey goes up in the rafters. And I hope you come back and have your last few years in the league with us if things work out. Good luck on your next journey 🫡

Hawks number 11 will always be you ❄️

  8. This seems dumb. The team was built around him for the first time. They’re literally doing “ok” without him and we’re giving up without even seeing how far it can go. Just having Jalen in the playoffs, if we make it, is going to be like when we just had Trae.

On top of that it’s unlikely we’ll get anything that will actually help us to be better this year.

  9. People celebrating, but we’re still a play in team without him. We aren’t going to get shit in this trade either. Better hope that Pels/Bucks pick ends up being nice.

  10. I get it from both sides perspective. I will absolutely be sad as hell when it happens though. Dude has been the biggest star this team has had since Nique. If it weren’t for that damn ref’s foot… I really think he takes us to the finals.

  11. i’m ngl i wanted him since before he was drafted so while i recognize and have recognized all his flaws, i can admit my attachment to him all these years is definitely clouding my judgement. i wanted this all to work out so bad, especially after all the shit he got for not being Luka, he’s been like a perpetual underdog to root for and defend against bad faith scrutiny from the media and non-Hawks fans over the years. i’m a Hawks fan until i die, but man change is weird sometimes and i just wish him all the best.

  12. Probably the right thing to do but I’m still sad. I will never forget that Knicks series or any part of that 2021 playoff run. Most excited I’ve ever been watching hawks basketball. We’ll miss u ice trae.

  13. Wtf, can’t believe ts is happening so early. He never got to play solid minutes with KP and the rest of the team.

  14. Given his current value, I’m not a fan personally (unless we receive far better offers than I expect).

Would rather let the season play out and risk losing him for nothing than get something like 1 late first and salary dump.

  15. This came out of nowhere. Feels like 2-3 weeks ago we were all like just wait till Trae gets back

  16. Was a neutral watcher of the league for a decade. That 48 pts in Game 1 against the Bucks made me a fan of Trae and the Atlanta Hawks.

  17. Fuck. I’m genuinely sad. I still honestly believe it could’ve worked with this roster, we just needed more time to gel… Stupid fucking knee injury.

  18. I knew this had to happen eventually and it’s probably for the best, but I’m absolutely gutted. He had faults and imperfections but he is my favorite player ever dog.

  19. Fuck.  My daughter was 1 years old and just starting to say words in the most adorable way possible when the hawks made the ecf.  I’ll never forget her walking into the bedroom game 1 against the bucks and going dada, ice Trae and doing the shoulder rub.

Shit sucks, but I guess it’s time to move on.  Just don’t send him to the nether realm, dude deserves better.  Also hope we get something worthwhile in return.

  20. You guys had so long to build around this guy and just failed time and time again! I’m happy for the guy.

  21. I hate that it ended this way, but the money’s just not worth it anymore when he’s coming back to a team leading the league in assists but struggling mightily on defense and the glass.

He still gave us something special that we hadn’t had since Nique. He’ll always be a legend for that.
